Why do older people like investing in Gold/Silver?

My parents also like that, from what I know gold investment is an easy thing unlike other investments, the change in the value of gold is also small so the risk is not too high, some people says buy gold in order to secure their money from inflation. I think there are still other things I don't know because honestly I am not very interested in gold investments and prefer to do business.

Yeah i thinks that's mainly the reason since they've all become used to doing things manually and a lot are not really comfortable doing things digitally. My grandfolks see it that way all the time

I think it is not wrong to invest in those things, knowing that these investments are sure to give you good amount of return, the only problem that I can see in gold and silver is the time frame of the return of investment. Unlike cryptocurrency which gives you loads of return in such a short amount of time, but the risk is just so much higher, so having the risk that cryptocurrency's value could go down in such a shot period of time, its a bit kind of a gamble to be investing in cryptocurrency, unlike investing in gold and silver.

The price of gold and silver, unlike bitcoin, is much stable and you can trade it for any currency easily without legal problems. Cryptocurrency on the other hand, is quite the opposite. And also older people just don't like taking risk in investing in bitcoin, i think.

I'm not one who would invest in precious metals, but I have noticed that a good amount of the older generations are pretty keen in investing in these metals. They see it as a way to bet against the market, and a security that will always be safe -- even in the times of a market downturn/country failure as a whole.

I personally wouldn't even want to buy these metals in those events, as I don't see the reason to. I'd rather invest in securities that go up when the market shits itself (Payroll lending companies and so on and so forth)

Unlike paper currency gold has retained its value through ages and old people see it as something they can pass to their next generation. It's an excellent hedge against inflation since it price increases when cost of living rises. Whenever there is geopolitical certainty you will gold price increases and people invest in gold. Lets say economy collapses tomorrow and paper money loses all its value, gold is what will save you and help you buy your daily bread. There are many uses of gold and silver in tech industry as well as other industries and some of them we haven't even heard of yet.

I don't think the same way but I think that's what older generation thinks from my perspective.

Older generations traditionally invest in precious metals in order to preserve the value of their assets. Their connection to new technologies cannot be called significant, and at the same time, the media disrupts them to try to invest in the crypto.

Maybe one of the reason because gold has the real and legit value not manipulated of course but Im not sure and it can also easily sell anywhere, gold is a proven investment opportunity for the last many decades and until now many people investing on it older people doesn't really trust in cryptocurrency maybe they believe it will collapse anytime .

I just looked at the chart of the gold price for the last year. The spread was from $1200 to $1350. Now the gold price is on the minimal levels and I guess the trend of this precious metal is negative. Also, recently I heard that some central banks started buying a gold to increase their reserves.

Probably the old people don't trust the modern globalized world where the crypto currencies are spreading and evolving despite the resistance of the governments. I suppose they just like to look at the beautiful things. In my opinion, gold is not a promising investment today.

Yeah that true it's more reliable than crypto but investing in crypto will not need you to a bigger capital and you have all the rights on what to do with your crypto as you hold your coins on your wallet that you can access anytime.
