Yes it's worth mining or buying. Every crypto is in beta, however we are working on the kinks, the chain is intact and very active. The last few hours have seen some major volume changing hands.

Also, what is the block time?

sent you some. It uses "max_block time" as in a time limit that throttles difficulty slightly in response to large hash swings. the max is ten minutes
