What advantage does a gpu miner give the coin?
Some GPU-only miners will become interested in NRS. ok, that is a point....but why not solo mine with gpu miner? Cause a GPU pool would kick ass!? from a purely mining PoV, but have you looked at the exchange? noone is really selling and noone is buying. In order to stimulate buys, i am working on products, gpu miners will bring attention but not much else economically beneficial.

cpu mining opens up a world to the botnets, if gpus where added it would level the playing field even if they only worked at 20% affective WU compared to normal scrypt. i would gladly mine with my 280x even if it could only do 10khs. even with 5 cpu's from 2500 to 4770k i can barley break 8khs.

just curious how does cpu open it up to botnets and gpu doesnt? Aren't you getting 300ish NRS/day with 8khs? also hashrate almost tripled today!

all gpu miners can only do solo for now. There is a pool that will work with cpu and gpu in development.

No you need a special miner for this https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2183.0I can confirm that it does NOT work whit current pool just tried it.

About the pool: help on the linux miners!!
I try to compile the source on my fedora 17. I download coyote_miner-master.zip and follow the READEM to install it. However, I got errors:
"collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [pool_miner] Error 1 make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/pool_miner.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [all] Error 2"
Please help.
And I also tried to use the compiled linux miners and it also didn't work on my platform: "./linux_coyote_miner.0.3.0: /usr/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.17' not found (required by ./linux_coyote_miner.0.3.0) ./linux_coyote_miner.0.3.0: /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: no version information available (required by ./linux_coyote_miner.0.3.0)"

Not saying that it will help but you really should consider updating your Fedora. Fedora 19 is the oldest version that gets any security patches or bug fixes. The binaries are not going to work because your libraries are too old. The above information is too generic to know specifically what is wrong but I suspect that you will have the same problem compiling from source because your dev libraries such as Cmake or boost are too old. I ran into this on Ubuntu 12.04 with Cmake I think.

So the pool still banned Chinese IP ? We are not banning Chinese IP's. Something is blocking the traffic for the miner before it gets to our server, not sure what. The same computer than can reach our server for http/https gets the miner traffic on port 4444 blocked before it gets to us. Very strange but it is not us banning anything. One person was able to use a VPN through Japan and get to the pool fine that way, it seems like something in China is blocking it. Maybe if we switched ports we used it could get through, what ports have you been able to use with other miners?

Its back to where it was a few days ago, some bagholder needed to dump to put rice on his familys table i guess.. Small market so far, not many coins in circulation, a 1 BTC dump have huge effect on price short term, if you want to mine the daily fairytale coin with a nanosecond in the spotlight you are looking at the wrong coin. You are investing hashrate in a project that might be HUGE in the months/years to come so to sell right now is a not a option in my opinion.
