Is Ethereum the closest coin that can be compared to Bitcoin?

By looking at the market cap of all coins, seems like Ethereum is next to Bitcoin. But in an OVER-ALL ASPECT among all Altcoins, is Ethereum the closest thing that can be compared to Bitcoin? What do you think?

It is true when you compare market cap. But Bitcoin and Ethereum have different uses. Bitcoin is intented to be used as a currency and Ethereum is used for smart contracts.

Why is everyone so eager to compare Ethereum and Bitcoin. They are not alike at all and have different purposes. These two crypto currencies combine popularity and if we compare by this feature, then they are similar.

Yes ethereum can compete with bitcoin. Because bitcoin belongs in the 1st position and ethereum belongs in the 2nd position. Their market demands are also similar. But its true btcoins price is too high. That’s why many people’s are not invest on this project.

Yes. Ethereum is growing very strongly. It is the best altcoin at present. There are many people who are investing in Ethereum. Ethereum has the same features with Bitcoin. Ethereum was struck by experts who could pass bitcoin in the coming time.

Yeah sure, Ethereum is the closest coin to be compared with bitcoin, Ethereum has over the years been so successful, in-terms of their implement and network stability and in the market cap, it is the second to bitcoin and it has more trading pairs just like bitcoin

Bitcoin and ETH are different thing but under marketcap ranking these two comes next to each other but it keep changing with time.

Yes, Eth is the only crypto right now that even has a chance to overtake bitcoins total marketcap.

So if you compare the potential between the BTC and ETH, the enormous potential in the future ETH will dominate and surpass the BTC on the exchange rate.

Yes in any aspect, ethereum is just like btc for me and only thing different its price. Eth can be perfectly compared in bitcoin. First in the exchanges. Top trades can be done with btc pair or eth pair. Can both exchange to fiat currency. Eth is always at the back of btc and u guess someday price will be near. Demand is getting bigger as more users know crypto currency

I think so. Ethereum is next to bitcoin now. But in the future ethereum can beat bitcoin. And will become the most dominant altcoin in the market.

Both is different purposes and platform , But we can say Ethereum is closest to compare with Bitcoin on the coinmarketcap , even though it is still very far to compete with Bitcoin .

I think so! Since ethereum is second largest cryptocurrency in the CMC and it has a great potential to surpass the largest volume in cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. Unfortunately, ethereum gas price becomes high. Time by time, gas price doubled and I think it really affects its name. However, I want ethereum more than other open source smart contract platform.

Depends on how you are looking to Ethereum and how you will compare it to bitcoin. It's the closest coin next to bitcoin because it has the highest market cap than the other altcoins. If the topic starts to be dictating that bitcoin will be replaced by Ethereum, I'll start to say that it won't be close to it though it has a big market cap and it's #2. For someone that is expanding his portfolio and wants to diversify, he's next choice is Ethereum but again I'll say it depends on how you'll describe your comparison.
