No one knows, i'm sure we all think it has that potential or we wouldn't be here. What I believe tho is if bitcoin hasn't died (from a bug or something of the like) in 3/5/10 years from now. The price isn't going to be the same as it is now it will be a whole lot higher i'm sure. I don't think there will be a middle of the road I think its going to be either zero or settle at a price alot higher than we've seen so far.

Agreed, IMHO, Bitcoin will be binary - 1 or 0.

The question that no-one knows the answer to, is whether it will be a 1 or a 0.

I'd be really surprised if we were at $5k by end of the year. I think even ~$2.5k by the end of the year would take some doing. I just hope it gets to $5k even if it takes a few years as that's a number where my holdings would mean i'd never have to work again.

Then again I held quite a large amount of litecoin's since they were $0.40 as I believed they would go up was happy when they went up to $5~ and I thought they would break over $10 and ended up going to $48. so I don't think there's any real way to guess what the price is going to do I like to under expect and then if it blows up its all the nicer.

Yeah. more worried about the bugs than anything else. I don't believe the encryption will be broken anytime soon and if it was then its a lot bigger problem than just bitcoin.

Above that it's likely to need increasing numbers of legislators, regularish joes and a more refined breed of whale jumping on board if serious traction is to be gained.

Top of the 2014 bubble could be 5k, but those prices can only be sustained for a few days. Then we will crash hard to 2k as a return to normal. Bitcoin is a perpetual bubble machine.
