Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

its been half of 2018 and we have seen a lot hacks issue in crypto industry, exchanges, pools, traders everybody is being affected by this hacks.

what is the solution as i see hackers will not leave this chance as this industry is still in development mode( early stage).

is DEX are solutions for traders, let me know !
BTC

I think DEX exchange is good but its the only not solution. Hacking always happen not only in cryptocurrency but in banks account too. The safest option we can do is keep our private key safe because its very important. Centralized exchange should be increasing their security and we should use 2FA on our account to avoid hacker stole our crypto

The only solution to this is to be vigilant and do not put your altcoin in exchange unless you are not going to trade it. Use a hardware wallet if possible to avoid hack and save the paraphrase password in a safe place.

For me, I think those lot of hacks are the cause why the price of Bitcoin dropped, and I also think that the market is being manipulated and they are using those hacks issue to make the market manipulated. But we still don't know, always be careful , don't store your funds in the exchange, always secure your personal wallet.

I agree with you on securing wallets and keep funds away from exchanges but in my opinion I do not think that hackers manipulate the market of Bitcoin because then why wouldn't they spike it a lot more than what it is now? To me it does not make sense.

Being cautious is one of the key to be safe from hackers and scammers. Just like everyone said, if you are planning to store your bitcoin don't use online wallets, instead use hardware wallets. Hardware wallet is far more secure than any online wallets available. I only use online wallets when I am trading but not for storing my precious bitcoin.

I really agree with you because there are many ways to keep your wallet safe from hackers. But in general, if somebody wants to hack your he will do it.

99% of hackers arpund the world are focus on cryptocurrency because there is a lot of money that they can stole. We can prevent them to stole our cryptocurrency by save our cryptocurrency in offline wallet, I think that is the safest way .

Sepertinya sudah waktunya, kalau menurut saya lebih baik lump sum sekarang. 30/01/2024.

Before I bought my Ledger Nano S, I use this technique to withdraw or send BTC and Tokens from campaigns I joined.

1. I create a bootalble usb driver with Ubuntu OS on it. Instructions here https://kb.iu.edu/d/bciz
2. Boot into Live Boot mode of Ubuntu.

By that, I don't have to format my PC or clean it just to make sure that my environment is safe. Just make sure you have downloaded the Ubuntu installer by its website. You can always do checksum verification on it. The instruction can be found here: https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001846.htm

There is no one solution. There are different levels of security measure that one could take such as never leaving money on exchanges, safe wallets and even considering nano S.

The solution would be that we must be aware that in this days, a lot of scams are happening right now. My advice is that everytime you want to invest, make sure you tripple check the project, the team and all the rest because in order to make a smart invest you need a good project of yourself regarding to investing.

If this is about the divertissement of that Project well you made it enough

But about the hacking, mostly this happens with our own fault being carelessly and un secured storage

Though some happen because this hackers are really good on this, they are gifted person but doing it wrongly to take advantage for others

They said that decentralized exchanges are not vulnerable to any hacks, except for etherdelta. Majority that I've read about recent exchange hacks came from centralized exchanges.

Binance also announced that they will be developing a decentralized exchange.
yes, I am also a bit wary when trading on etherdelta, unlike in other markets. security there is really minimal

Hacking attacks have nothing to do with price drop.
Unfortunately, hacking attacks can't be avoided but the level of security and protection could be higher. And that is something that exchange should care about.
Also, every user has to be aware that security of his coins it's up to hin and how much we all are aware of security measures.
So, avoid online wallets and exchanges that don't have adecvate security measures. Also, use antivrus and antimalware protection on your computer and mobile phone.

A lot of suggestions had been share on this thread by members like use of a hardware wallet. You can go for these suggestions to enhance the safety.

But let me tell you, it will still not be 100% guaranteed that all your money is safe in crypto. There will always be some risk of it getting hacked because of some loophole or bug on the exchange. You will have to keep it in mind while making a crypto investment.

Try to get an offline wallet to store your assets and also don't use one password for all your accounts. Make sure you always activate 2fa code for more security.

What? I can’t believe it someone so experienced saying that one of the reason of the price is not hacking. Dear buddy look into the history look into how many times only MT Gox exchange have been hacked and what was its effect on the price of Bitcoin.
I agree that hacking can’t be stopped or eliminated permanently because we know evil minds are always in thoughts of doing something wrong and it’s such an activity for them which they constantly keep on trying to do because they steal millions of dollars coins with just a single successful attempt.
Also we can’t believe on every antivirus available in the market, there are antiviruses which opens gateways for the hackers to your devices after you install them. Therefore, always use a reputable antivirus for your systems where you have stored your wallets.

Don't keep all your cryptocurrency investments in one place. Diversify among exchanges. It's unlikely you are going to get hacked at the same time through all of them. Especially if you have different emails and passwords for each.
