@tsupp4: genau deswegen habe ich nicht mehr gewartet sondern einfach einige bestellt und vertreibe sie nun. @all ich bin nun wieder erreichbar, weil aus dem Urlaub zurück  . Und ich wäre euch verbunden, wenn hier keine neuerlichen Diskussionen geführt werden, dafür macht bitte eigene Themen auf oder nutzt solche die davon handeln. Generelle Kritik am Produkt ist hier ebenfalls fehlplaziert, da sprecht bitte Casascius an! Hier sollten sich Rezensionen und Berichte zu den von mir angebotenen Casacius Bitcoin ansammeln und nicht Wirtschaftstheorie oder Politikquerelen. If someone wants to buy 500+ coins, and wants to be a distributor in Germany, I am willing to offer a good discount to make it worthwhile. I am now in a position where I can produce more coins than I could before. Large orders are not shipped immediately. I simply produce a written offer which describes how long it will take to receive all the coins. I can almost always send some immediately, and the rest within two or three weeks. This time period ensures I am able to organize enough "coin parties" to produce them all.
I agree that $60 is a crazy amount for shipping - but it is probably the only way he can ensure he will get a signature anywhere in the world, which is what the credit card companies require to fight off a chargeback. MemoryDealers is a shop accustomed to sending valuable computer equipment, always needing a signature. The purpose is clear when the purchased item is similar in cost to computer equipment ($1000 or more). Someone who can pay BTC can get these coins for much less via postal mail because there is no risk of chargeback. You save money by assuming the risk yourself.

If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins. Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice. Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

I tried to convince them to ship it postal/ buy with btc or find any other solution.
But atleast they were kind enough to refund my "canceled" order. One week later...
They need to think of another way if they want to ship outside of US.
And fuck they were unfriendly as hell. Saying I live in a dreamworld just because I mentioned that there are cheaper ways to send a coin in an envelope.

Von den 1-BTC-Münzen habe ich nur noch eine kleine Menge, daher habe ich den Preis hochgesetzt. Ich kann mir vorstellen nochmal 1er- und 5er-Münzen direkt bei Casascius zu bestellen und über Bitmit zu verkaufen. Nur scheint mir gerade keine große Nachfrage zu bestehen. |

Das siehst du absolut richtig, dies trifft auf alle Dienstleister zu, die ein vergleichbares Verfahren anbieten.

Man kann ein Schlüsselpaar mit Adresse erzeugen, ohne überhaupt online zu sein: https://www.bitaddress.org/=> Für ein Paper Wallet oder ein Brain Wallet muss man niemandem vertrauen - man braucht nichtmal Wallet software. |
