Well that took a bit longer to set everything up than expected (reinstalled computer a few days ago, so was missing some tools), I started on the pledge page, we're going to have separate sections for different things, eg we were donated 100k coins before the v3 swap, so will list that under general donations. Then we can have other sections if we come up with other ideas. Have also set up a block scanner so we can see where the coins come from, in case we ever want to send them back if we change plans etc.

Hello all, Just a little follow-up on this idea of a p2p marketplace using DopeCoin as the form of payment and where this came about. A lot of it was inspired by this article over at Liberty.me. If you skip down, to where Jeffery Tucker mentions why Silk Road came about it provides a compelling argument why the "silk roads" of the world matter. Here are some snippets: What is the case for the Silk Road? Well, for one thing, the government’s takedown is completely moot. There are now many more silk roads out there. The first was replaced by a second and the second by a third. In additions, there are a dozen other sites out there that provide a reliable peer-to-peer system of commercial exchange that live outside the strict confines of the law. They will proliferate and grow. Nothing can change that. Which is correct. There are plenty of clones who have continued on, with many hundreds to still come as the years go. Here is a longer snippet that is the meat of the issue:Who has an interest in shutting them down? There are three parties: meddling politicians who are trying to manipulate voters, entrenched bureaucrats who like to exercise power, and drug lords who don’t want to see their monopoly control over drug markets threatened. P2P exchange networks threaten the interests of all three.
Regardless, no one can stop the progress toward getting the drug trade off the street and into cyberspace where there is reputational accountability, free entry and exit, and, above all, peace. And let’s just be realistic here: no one will ever get rid of the production and consumption of illicit drugs. The only question is whether this trade is going to take place in a way that is peaceful and productive or risky or violent.
But let’s say that is a hard truth for you to swallow. Imagine it is your son or daughter. He or she is interested in trying pot or ecstasy or cocaine. It’s been known to happen. Would you rather he or she have to mix with the drug-trading culture, risk life and limb crawling around dark corners or society, throw the dice concerning the safety and quality of the drug in questions — or do it all from the desktop where the risk of drug taking is the only serious risk he or she undertakes? Wouldn’t you rather his or her supplier get the stuff in a manner that insures against poisonous death?
It’s a bit like it was during alcohol Prohibition. In those days, bootleggers distributed killer substances at a profit, and cases of poisoning were legion. That all came to an end once market accountability and competition came into play with legalization. That same course needs to be taken with regard to drugs.
Truly, lives are stake here. P2P markets really do offer a solution to the problems created by the drug war. Millions have died or languished in jail. If Ross really did innovate here, it is much to his credit. He would emerge as a man of peace seeking to improve society. If that was part of his motivation, jurors have every right to know it and judge his actions in light of that fact — and judge the law too, which has brought so much human suffering where it is absolutely unnecessary. So your asking what does this have to do with DopeCoin ? You do realize if this is pulled off we'll be the only crypto currency ( outside of BTC ) which helps enable a safe/free and decentralized dark market for the people of the world. What is that worth to you ? It even goes beyond what the value of such a market would be , but goes to what even Ross Ulbricht was getting at : a philosophy around the drug wars in general. What is right. Millions of people doing riskier deals , or providing a safe route to receive what they need. Just wanted to throw this out for you to gnaw on as you lay down your head to sleep . The key point being is this is GOING to HAPPEN . How far can we take this ?

I would look at getting a marketplace set up using ethereum or openbazaar. Neither of those projects are getting shut down.
The marketplace isn't valuable, it's the users who are valuable.
The last news I heard is 7 different decentralized market places were shut down by the FBI because they weren't fully decentralized.

Yup, you got it fartbags. We already have open software we plan on using for this that is exactly like ethereum or openbazaar. Essentially, the "shops" would be tucked inside the client software and can be pulled up within it on the fly. You can do the transaction straight from the wallet to the shop. The problem with ethereum or openbazaar is its BTC only. The marketplace isn't valuable, it's the users who are valuable. I couldn't agree more with this. I believe we have the proper community to make this big. I know Darkcoin blah, blah are already out there for the purpose of being anon. but, as far as I know they aren't built into any p2p marketplace. The last news I heard is 7 different decentralized market places were shut down by the FBI because they weren't fully decentralized.
This is correct. They were shut down because they weren't fully decentralized.

I am having issues with converting my coins from the old android wallet. I put in the address into the first field on the swap page, and my v3 return address on the second input field. Came back with invalid private key. However, I did not see a way for me to derive the private key as in the v2 wallet instructions listed above. How can I go about doing this properly? I have over 400k that need to start staking lol. There is an option to back up the private keys, then restore them, but no way to show what the priv key is? Do I need to back them up, then find a v2 pc wallet and restore them there and then run the instructions listed prior? Or do I need to wait for a new android wallet? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
Edit: I mis ready sorry, android wallets have different instructions, you'll need to go back through this thread to find those instructions as I'm not quite sure how far back they were. If i remember right, you can back up your keys from android wallet and send them to your email as an file. When you open that file it should show you those keys. Please, correct me if i'm wrong. It's been a while since i have used android wallet. I went back through and found instructions using a linux box but I do not currently have one up. I opened the file itself with a text editor and got a giganormous string of chars that I could not decipher properly. At this point I guess I need to find a v2 pc wallet and restore it there to follow standard protocol or install linux? any other assistance would be much appreciated! Thanks!>

With the website almost ready to come online, do we have any leads yet for developers interested in taking on the decentralized exchange task?

Too many coins, not enough developers. It might be a good idea to merge with other coins. Everyone will get diluted but the community and developer pool will be a lot bigger.

In the process of looking around myself. Hopefully, the sheer size of the bounty can drive some people in. Too many coins, not enough developers.
It might be a good idea to merge with other coins. Everyone will get diluted but the community and developer pool will be a lot bigger. This could be true. The closest we'll come to merging would be some sort of alliance i.e., 420 alliance . But, that would be far down the line.
