If you don't want to run a full node I would recommend armory or electrum. Allowing you to be in control of your own keys and also restore from word seed back up. You control your keys in blockchain.info as well. Yes but they're not generated client side and offline. Using an online service like this exposes your keys to both the blockchain.info servers and also to any man in the middle attacks. Sure it's unlikely but if your dealing with more than a handful of btc it pays to be more careful. Online wallets just aren't that safe. |

Just download the bitcoin core wallet from scratch and it took 1.5 days which is pretty pleasing. On an older laptop im 1 day in and looks like about 25% is done so far.... doh!

That very much depends on the speed of your bandwith. Cost of your bandwith is also another consideration. Many people around the world have slow speeds and also have very strict limits on the amount of down/up streaming they can do. For this reason SPV wallets, although not the most secure, offer a great alternative. |

My preferred wallet is still Bitcoin Core. Why? because im paranoid about other non "official" wallets somehow failing on me, and im also nostalgic and like the old school vibe of it.

Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? If you use web wallets, please do mention which one is your choice and why ?
I used in the beginning bitcoin core qt because I wanted to have my bitcoin in my computer. This make me feeling safe. But then I thought that the most little problem in my computer can lost my bitcoin even if I might save the day file. Who knows which can happen to the dat file? So I chose them a very wonderful web wallet which, among others, pay even the fee of every my transaction with my bitcoins. From that time I am very happy with this wallet and I think I will not change it. |

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Cold storage on mobile? So you'll have a mobile phone that isn't connected to the internet in any way to store your coins... Why not go for a hardware wallet or a paper wallet then? |

but you know cold storage means: offline storage... In that case i wouldn't use my phone, but i would print a paper wallet instead...  |

Cold storage on mobile? So you'll have a mobile phone that isn't connected to the internet in any way to store your coins... Why not go for a hardware wallet or a paper wallet then? This is a terrible idea. Cold storage should only be done on non electronic device, basically a BIP38 wallet printed on a paper covered in plastic so it stays the test of time for hundreds of years if needed. |

Think of it, if i have a choice to create a peper wallet why would i rather not choose it? But yep keeping a piece of paper is more easy than keeping a computer secure

I use blockchain.info as a web wallet (started with this wallet) because it is easy to use and popular. and then switched majority of my bitcoins to Electrum wallet since it is a light wallet, and offers more security than an online wallet. |
