For a few mBTC I use blockchain.info wallet. It was my first client and I stuck with this. Nowadays has only one good feature very useful for me. Pairing with my smartphone. Mainly I use a desktop client and I go with electrum. I thinks are obvious the advantages of an open source light SPV client.
I guess we all love blockchain, I never had a problem using it so why would I change though. I'm using it for many years now and so far the experience is still the same, it's great to use it. So many advantages of blockchain that i know, such as blockchain work decentralized and all transactions wrote in digital ledger that it not managed by one people or one company, it unique ledger can access by public.

I am using Multibit, I tried to use the official blockchain but it was quite heavy, I use multibit because its lite weight, though I have not tried any other and this one was also suggested by a guy who introduced me to bitcoin. Its working alright I guess.
If you have an andorid phone, I'd recommend you to use MyCelium because that is what I am using now and for a few years already. It is as light as multibit and you can send/receive your Bitcoin anywhere and anytime as long as you have a good internet connection.

From the information I have, the official client is safer, but in fact it's quite heavy, and most users will probably need to wait a long time for synchronization to take place. Blockchain.info has worked without major problems for me. I'm not yet aware of Multibit, but I think it's worth researching.

I don't know if you can call bitcoin-qt the official client or wallet or not but yeah, it is really heavy as it downloads all the blockchain in order to sync your wallet which probably takes a lot of time and data too, so maybe someone should try electrum if they are looking for a good desktop wallet.

I don't know if you can call bitcoin-qt the official client or wallet or not... You, literally, can't. To do so with any client would centralize Bitcoin around that client and defeat the whole point of Bitcoin being decentralized. Bitcoin Core, while far and away the most popular, is the "official client" in the exact same way that Ford is " the official car".

I am sorry you are mistaken. I do not love bc.i because I believe that is the best client but because I can pair my android phone with my web bci. It's a convenient, easy to use web wallet it was my first one and I use some addresses so I do not want to change. Besides that, except that is a web client lacks some features very useful in my opinion. You can't sign a message, you can't export your private keys and unfortunately some months ago was hijacked and more than 8 millions wallets were inaccessible http://thehackernews.com/2016/10/blockchain-bitcoin-website.html.

Online wallet is appropriate for people who only want to save a few amount of bitcoin because the security is lower than hardware wallet bitcoin. But online wallet such blockchain or MyCelium is really practicaly to use.

Though, I'm against the idea of an official client, this is not a true analogy either. Bitcoin-QT is the major wallet which acts as node and all these Bitcoin Core, Unlimited, Classic, XT are derivative of this. Hence, Bitcoin-QT can be regarded as official client.

You can not control your private key and if you are not controlling it, you will definitely not control you Bitcoin. Moreover, coinbase is very suck since nowadays, most of the transactions are held by the system and Coinbase refuses to send them immediately. Therefore, it is very inconvenient
