Me and my frinds are using bitchain.info. Anyone using much better please suggest. Thanks What is bitchain.info ? Bitchain.info is probably a dogecoin wallet. I dont think so ....I tried to open it in my browser. Nothing is coming !!! Though I checked the whois... it shows that the domain is booked. Doggone it!

I use an online wallet/exchange. I don't trust my @#$#@ computer to hold bitcoin.
I understand that u dont trust your computer for malware problem. Online wallet is ok for small sum. But having coins at exchanges is very very risky. Any hot wallet may get hacked by web hosting at any time. U may consider having some on paper wallet, which u may easily generate at blockchain.info.

What is cold/split wallet ? care to share ? I knew there is just cold wallet !!! I was talking about Fragmented Backups™ ( are a way of splitting a physical paper backup in multiple pieces, such that multiple "fragments" are needed to restore your wallet. ) https://bitcoinarmory.com/about/armory-backups-are-forever/

I use Electrum but I also have a cold paper wallet generated using Vanitygen on an offline computer with the private key printed on a piece of paper. I also memorized the Electrum seed so it doubles as a brainwallet as well.

Never heard of it. But, it is very risky, because if u lose one part, all your wealth is lost.

No, you make a 2 of 3 multisig or 3 of 4 multisig or 3 of 5 multisig , ect...so you can lose 1 or 2 fragments and still recover your funds.

I guess, all this multi-sig, fragmentation make simple thing complex. The best is old way of having a paper wallet and have multiple backups of it at different offline electronic storages, as well as have a paper printed and store it with your cash stash.

It's the most secure online wallet because everything is client-side and your private keys still belong to you, but I would think that there are more secure (offline) options out there.

for me, it's use multi-wallet files for a big amount of bitcoin ... like 5 files wallets from bitcoin-core that they hold 2 BTC each. you can loose 1 files ... but 5 files, no. and if you store on USB key with date of folder, you have multiple record randomly area on it. at the end, you have 100-200 files ... writed on different location ... with the same result = 5 files usable with 2 BTC on it. and, at the end, use multiple USB key to do this. it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to loose a file with this strategy ... even if you loose PC, burn a part of your location or trash some clothes. early adopter of bitcoin is a good story of loosing coins ...

i used multibit some time ago and i prefer electrum now there are only little options in multibit, you can use more options in electrum, especially when you send bitcoin, you can choose more options and i don't like multibit theme too

So is there a client which most people agree to be the best? Sorry for the question but as a newcomer getting 1000 different answers it´s pretty difficult to choose the right one.
