So, some details of the cards I can buy. I have found an ASUS R9 280X that I can sell at ($455 equivalent of GPUC) shipped in the continental US and an ASUS R9 290 at ($575 equivalent of GPUC) shipped in the continental US. Overseas shipping will be extra.
Is anyone interested in stocking the 270X or even the 290X? My savings on the 270x is only $30 off Newegg and I have personally never used one for mining. The 290X seems to just waist power and not put out any more hash than the 290.
GPU Coin vs Newegg r9 280X $455 $529.99 + shipping r9 290 $575 $649.99 + shipping

250,000,000 for IPO 150,000,000 for bounties and payment for future development The dev holds IPO and still keeps the premine for bounties Talk about screwing investors

So 3% premined. Well done! 3% premine now is a trend.
Only for dying coins. We mined 3% to help the coin, not hinder it. The IPO funds are going to be put directly into GPU stock so that we have access and can sell at cheaper prices than even Newegg, and the rest will be used for bounties, such as a Mac wallet and any translations, to help the coin expand. I heard this recently.. yep, was pandacoin 1 week and was dead! edit: if true, i like the idea We will make profit from every single GPU sale, even at our relatively low pricing, since we have distributor pricing. It is in our best interest to keep the coin alive and make long term sales profits. After contacting several manufacturers we have found that we can only buy directly from them once we turn a certain amount of sales per month. Once we hit that point we can drop our prices even further to hopefully MSRP, but they refused to tell us their pricing so no promises, cutting out all the middle men entirely to save the customers even more money.

250,000,000 for IPO 150,000,000 for bounties and payment for future development The dev holds IPO and still keeps the premine for bounties Talk about screwing investors IPO is for people who wish to invest money for their own potential gain, bounties are for people who want to invest their skills for their own potential gains. Who's to say you can't do both? We certainly don't wish to release a coin with no pools, no mac wallet, no linux wallet, no faucets and a complete lack of future development. The IPO is just to secure funds to stock the shop with GPUs, and at current we have an estimated (from poll) 220 sales which is already over $100,000.00 in sales. We don't have the money laying around to purchase these in one order, and with the entire market 6~9 days behind supply, we would rather not get 5 GPUs per week and sell out in an hour then wait another week to stock up again. We would then be just another slow retailer that is only notable by our discount pricing. We are trying to help the community by giving a steady supply of GPUs at non inflated price points and without having to go through the hassle of turning your crypto currency into fiat currency.

290x still has active throttling and crappy reference fans so gpu gets upto 95 deg c and sits there on 100% fan and slows hash down as temps too hige. untill the throttle is removed and better cooling designed hash will be not so good but 880khs per card and great gaming u cant go wrong. poworcolor bad cards 600khs~20k club 3d 880~20-30k

Also, considering ASUS 280X cards are only $10 more expensive than the Powercolor I see no reason to carry a lower quality card for such small savings. All of my personal mining experience has been with XFX 7950's, which I was able to undervolt easy enough, so I'm at a loss for the new R9 cards other than things I read in forums. Thanks for all the info.

This coin is a good idea. And the fact that you can buy GPUs with this coin will automatically make this coin worth money. But the trick is that the value of the coin will be set by the GPU coin price, and the exchanges would follow suit.

Not so. We will be using an API for whatever the current coin market place so that the GPUC price of the cards will fluctuate with the market.

What does everyone think of us posting an encrypted 7zip of the wallet? You would basically be able to download the wallet before the release so all you would need to do is wait for a password. We believe this will alleviate the mass influx of traffic to the web page upon release to allow for a more fluid and fair release so people are not stuck trying to download from an overloaded server.

I 'm not sure keeping the IPO open after the coin has been released is a good idea unless you set a limit on how much can be invested.

I agree too, and investors before launch take more risk. Or make two stage of IPO with more percent in first stage before launch and a second after launch.

LOL. 75$ off Newegg pumped-up prices. :rolling
You can find them pretty much everywhere in Europe @ MSRP. That's at least $100 cheaper than your prices.

Hello GPUcoin. I just noticed he IPO deadline has been extended until March 7th (after the launch). How will you determine how many gpucoins each of the early investors get? or will we not receive the coins until March 7th? Thank you.
