I respect your idea but...

Why the designer of GPU Coin would choose scrypt, a no-longer ASIC-resistant algorithm, instead of scrypt-nway (like Vertcoin) or SHA3 (like Maxcoin), both of which have good chances to remain ASIC-resistant for at least 6 more months, is beyond my understanding.

Any thoughts about this? Was it discussed already?

Thanks for the quick response. I think some folks' only fear is that in a situation where the IPO investors own majority of the coins, there wouldn't be a point to mining the coin due to the sharp uphill battle. Not detracting from the coin's worthiness, just sortof talking out loud.

Still one of the best ideas to come along in honestly a long time.

Which is why I will be giving the coins out to the investors as soon as the wallet is live.  I watched Reddcoin and they are doing a 90 day release of the IPO and all it seems to do is create a 90 day dump that's killing the coin value.  I would rather have the big investors dump the first week and let the coin stabilize early on.  The IPO coins will be outweighed by the mined coins in a little over 8 days, so it shouldn't be a long term issue.

I could careless about the product. I like this because there is an actual business on it. People will dump/hold this coin depends on how the business works. I will be joining the IPO and mining.

Msg me if you want me to put anything here.

Stackcoin developer here?

We do not wish to refute each and every individual post claiming we are a scam and referencing other alt-coins that were scams.  We are a registered limited liability company in the state of Virginia under the name of "GPU Coin LLC" (http://www.bizapedia.com/va/GPU-COIN-LLC.html).  If we don't pay you the IPO coins, you can call our local police department (Chesapeake, Virginia) and file a theft of commodities.

Nice coin. Will support this one for sure.

BTW Please edit the first post where you say the IPO drawing will take place on the 29th of February as there is no 29th this year lol.
Cant believe no one else read the entire post.

Will there be offerings for older cards, one that comes to mind is the 7950. Its just a suggestion, as if the prices are like this, and this low, it wouldnt matter. Also is there a deadline to IPO? How does it work? very interested in investing for this coin.

While we would like to offer older cards, the American distributors are all sold out, save a few who are charging $400 for us to buy them.  We get R9 280x cards cheaper than that, so it serves no purpose now.  If we can locate a bulk order from China we would definitely stock them though.

Deadline for IPO is Saturday at 23:59 EST since the coin launch is Sunday.  You get a percentage of the 250 million coins based on how much you put in verse how much every one else puts in.
