And now, let's explain why ETFs are just more of what Bitcoin was built to replace.

In case anyone hadn't noticed, the global economy is in turmoil because all the banks and other big institutional investors are constantly gambling on derivatives and other such financial instruments.  These instruments largely consist of repackaged debt obligations and IOUs.  Then, when they inevitably get their bets wrong, the public has to bail the banks out, the pension pots get raided until there's hardly anything left, the stock market eventually crashes and the traders start throwing themselves out of windows again.  Rinse, repeat.  That's literally how it works.  The global economy in a nutshell.  But whatever happens, it's ultimately ordinary people who don't realise any of this is happening who end up being the ones who foot the bill.  Yet, despite how ridiculous it all is, no one who's actively involved in this game seems to want to change it.  It's a terrible system.  It's so insane that you couldn't make this shit up.  It's a farce.

So someone created Bitcoin.  A pure system, with no debt.  And it's great.  No one can take money they haven't actually got to gamble with on bad debts.  But, instead of embracing this superior model, institutional investors wanted more infinite debt to gamble with, so they eagerly await the launch of Bitcoin ETFs IOUs where they can continue to speculate from the sidelines in the worthless casino they seemingly can't find the exit from.  Apparently that's too "complicated" for them.   Roll Eyes

They aren't going to be holding any actual bitcoins, they're just going to be playing with the IOUs.  That's their loss.

this is completely right. On the one hand, with ETF, Bitcoin price will grow indeed. But do we want to that growth? Are we here to earn money or support a movement? Majority choose the first option, I'm sure

According to ICO journal, there is 90% chance that bitcoin will have ETF approval. Demand for BTC will surely increase with big investors participating in the market and price is likely to go up as well as there will be less FUD in the market. All we can do is wait and hope for the best.

It's true. Once the ETF is approved, Bitcoin price will surely skyrocket! The Lambo dreams of the majority will be more possible. Aside from that, it will be highly recognize worldwide. The Crypto Era is now beginning! Let's hope that everything will be alright.

they are stalling about Bitcoin ETF approval since years - I don't think they will allow it soon.
Agree with you, it means sec is serious about it and really considering all safety nets
approvals take time, rejection is quick

Don't take what OP is saying for granted. It's not going to jump to 40-50k USD just like that purely because of one ETF getting approved. There are various companies trying to achieve it because whoever will be the first will get the first wave of investors and we all know that this first wave consists of people who were eying this opportunity for years. There's big money at play on both sides and I believe that even politicians and members of agencies are playing the market. Nobody will miss an opportunity to make money, especially on a secure and regulated platform. If they approve 1 ETF the others will use the approved project as a template to make sure they'll get approved too.

the commissioner wants it through anyway

her argument seems convincing and it seems the sec are over stretching their mandate to refuse it

the winkies may have had a weakness in their proposal that the others can null ie taking price from an average of the top exchanges and not just the price on their own exchange

that is what someone told me whether it is correct or not ... I have no idea.

Nice to believe that is possible though.

The excitement of ETF will definitely affect the growth of the crypto-currency market, it is inevitable. New players will come to the market, and this is a sign of market growth. It can not be otherwise.

ICO journal predicted a 90% chance of bitcoin on an ETF approval. Price is about to rise in the market even more. Hoping for the best to happen.

From my point of view I believe SEC will approve ETF. I think SEC have to approve this think because of three things because firstly value is increase, secondly new investor like to invest here and last but not the list market situation will change. So SEC will approve it definitely.

Whether the ETF is positive or not. Bitcoin will keep going again. However, if it is negative, it will get stuck for a while. ETF expectant always pulled up the price. Moreover, this latter is much more important.

We're probably going to get a spike in the price of bitcoin, however I really think this is going to be short lived but it is going to push the price higher than the current levels, this will be the perfect opportunity to exchange your bitcoin for altcoins because I do not think that altcoins are going to go up in value because this is a news that only involves bitcoin.

you meant to say "exchange your altcoins for bitcoin"! in other words sell your altcoins. which is what i agree with because i don't see any scenario that altcoins can be a good investment in the coming month. there is just a certain number of scenarios and each one are the same more or less.
if bitcoin rises, altcoins usually drop which means you shouldn't be holding them. even if they don't drop they still wouldn't be able to rise more than bitcoin which again means you should be holding bitcoin.
if bitcoin drops the  altcoins will definitely get dumped. this is the most obvious case which you shouldn't be holding any alt in it.

Thanks for your information! But ETF is not the same purpose how bitcoin was born! With ETF, people get butcoin into one place, and make it not decentralized as its purpose at the first time. So I think ETF is impossible for bitcoin Smiley
How about you guys?

What happens in the case of fraud? ... and Europe if financial innovators aren't allowed to bring products to market that grow ... Bitcoin ETFs will make it far, far easier to buy Bitcoin in a space that is currently rather convoluted. ... Coinbase or try to get their head around digital wallets with encrypted keys, etc.
