So I did a little experiment with 12 grids today. I disconnected the fans, stacked them three high and stuffed them behind a PC to see if they would get hot/warm in single mode only. They did get warm to the touch but they still stayed above 300khs clocked at 850. didnt seem to error out much either.

I've since reconnected the fans and gave them room to breath, hash rates went up about 20-30khs each! Pretty cool!

Next test will be running the fans at +5VDC. Smiley

ordered 60 units. knew i wasnt going to get power supplies but i got no barrel plugs at all.

I am pretty annoyed right about now. I already ordered them off amazon seeing as i refuse to wait for new barrel plugs to get shipped from china.
(My order got shipped from china not california...)

I had to spend 120$ for 60 barrel plug cords also i cant mine with them in the mean time. I hope zoomhash will rectify the situation to the best of his ability.

PS: this morning i wake up to my phone ringing at about 8 am cause fedex is calling trying to figure out my address due to the fact they were only given a partial by the shipper...

Overall disappointed in the results of the chinese factory. Seems like they could put in a little more effort.

I can tell you that Zoom has been SUPER quick to rectify issues I've had with items missing from shipping (oddly enough all from China too, hmm).

60 will make a nice little farm. You going to run them in single or dual mode? I just got done taking 12 off of a controller and putting them on a Win7 box. LTC only, no fans... Cool and quiet. Smiley

Gonna have 80 total. Running LTC only. I would run dual mode for the next difficulty adjustment but i just dont have the power i need for that.

I was a little angry before. I know zoom will make right by it.

I also know its on the factory in china and not on him personally.(sorry if i made it seem that way)

60 of 80. Only 35 running cause i only had 15 spare barrel plugs and 20 from my last set.

https://i.imgur.com/yG8eYb9.jpg

Can you post more details about your setup? What hubs are you using, how much hash are you averaging per device, and what you are using as an controller.
Thank you!

Hey trollboxchamp! Sorry for the confusion. During our dealings through PM you never mentioned you needed the barrel plugs.

We have 2000 barrel plugs in Los Angeles and would have overnighted them to you. But regardless, give us your BTC address and we will reimburse you for getting them on amazon Smiley.

Also, sorry for the confusion on where it was shipped from. We promised 2-4 business days for it to arrive and I believe we met the promise since you ordered on March 5th and recieved the item on the third business day.

Regardless, we will give you btc to compensate for the lost mining and barrel plugs. Post your address!

Hey zoom (or anyone who knows the answer for this)

Can the power supply your site suggests by ebay be used to power multiple grids? If I got some 5.5mm barrel plug splitters, how many grids could one of those power supply units handle? Thinking about running in scrypt only mode.

Pm'ed you my address.

Just here to say that zoomhash is a great guy. I apologize for venting a bit of frustration.

I am using the cheap chinese hubs that came with hashra/lightning asic orders. a bit different then the ones i just got from zoomhash. Right now im running 35 using the CPUminer. Will upgrade to BFGminer/CGminer once better integration appears. Getting 11.5 mh off 35.

Thanks Zoomhash for running this GB. Just went in for a few batch 6 parts to test these out. Thinking maybe I should sell my 290s now...

After scanning the thread it seems there are a few different options to power them. I'd like to use the power supply for my GPU farm to power the gridseed parts since after testing I'll probably just transfer over from GPU mining to gridseed mining and might as well reuse as much as possible.

Is there a recommended way to connect to an ATX power supply? It seems splicing a barrel connector into a molex or PCIe power supply connector is the way to go. Are there any suggested parts and or DIY guides? Thanks!

Start here you should be able to find anything you are looking for as far as power and software. Thanks

Start cgminer then plug in the gridseeds one at a time. they seem to like usb 2.0 better then 3.0 usb from the computer

Did you need any special settings to make the go in cgminer? would be really cool if I could plug these in and have them mine next to my GPUs in the same cgminer instance

assume we can't use scrypt n factor with this?

Is there a how to video or something that tells you exactly how to set this up or install it?

Couple other Q's...

How many can you run off one computer and can a computer run these while it's ming with GPUs as well?
