You are a standup guy. I take back my earlier complaints; it was definitely a situation of mob mentality.

I can confirm I also received a refund from Vort.

Hats off!

VORT YOU FUCKING BEAUTIFUL PERSON!
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA

THANK YOU VOR!! That felt great to have my money back, it is too bad not to get the profit as well

GREAT. Now everybody RUN and deposit more money to the anonymous scammer running a ponzi scam. He will probably triple his earnings thanks to this stunt.

Fools and their money are soon parted.

It is the second time Vor is accuse.d of sc.am and pays back everyone, he could have ran away with 10btc + a few times and with 30btc once, he has always been very professional

You don't have to deposit in a ponzi but if you do, depositing in a ponzi created by Vor seems safer than all the other choices. (makeBTC has been very professional as well)

Players who deposited in BIG have also been refunded; 531e7c40506cdb499e7c6219d960c8cf76f32a67d4132d73e161473e6e5c3c19

I can confirm that. It feels pretty good as all my btc were invested in your ponzis!

I think we can still play, last round was starting well : 10btc in a few minutes so the innovation of paying the last deposit was working, paying the last 3 or 4 deposits 120% would work even better, it will feel super safe to deposit because you either get 120% or there will be deposits after you..

Lots of emotion today  Grin In retrospect I had the feeling I was going to get the money back (you can't tell much by reading my previous posts)

Thanks for the great feedback. I need to get the rest of the players repaid and identify what, if anything else has been compromised before I even consider starting a new game. Trust will have been damaged by this so it's something I would think about first Smiley

You remember that it happened before : everyone thought you sc.ammed and you came back from work and everyone got paid

I think that trust has been damaged but not irreversibly and totally damaged; for exemple I would deposit again but maybe I would only deposit 0.1-0.3 at first before I get more confortable

It is definitely worth to try to get a new game going, Suggestion : Big launch on Thursday at 20:00 UTC, last 3 players get 120% from Vor if nobody deposit within 1h (max 0.5 repaid); deposits 0.01 to 0.5; you take 1% fee and play as well

Not to sound negative or anything, but how do we know Vort won't run for real in the future? There should be some sort of insurance policy for the players. Example: vort provides his personally identifiable information to someone like theymos or John K for vetting purposes, and they hold on to that info in case vort needs to be hunted down for running. And if he has no intention of running, then there should be no problem.

The steps I have taken to secure my privacy have been taken for a reason. And no offence, to either of the two above mentioned users, but I dont know them, I wouldnt give my personally details out to someone on the street, so I wouldn’t do it to someone on the internet either.

Whilst I appreciate the shit storm this has caused, I could see it going two different ways which would have been much worse;
1) The user attempting to gain access to my server could have been successful and made away with all your coins
2) It could have actually been a scam and I ran away with the coins

Luckily neither of those happened, the majority of players have been repaid (I'm working on the remaining few) and I'm online tonight to take any flack that is thrown my way.

Vor could have run away with the money many times including this one with 10BTC so this is not a proof he will not run away later on and everyone can judge if it is safe to deposit with him but I personally will deposit again because the problem on round7 showed that Vor is not here to sc.am more than anything else

A good way to protect the depositors would be to held 5BTC or 10BTC in escrow with someone trusted, Vor's identity is protected and we are protected as well (in the limit of the escrow money)
I think it would be good for Vor as well because he would stop needing to defend himself and everyone will trust the game so he will profit more through fees/playing, everybody wins

The fact that Vort has had two separate chances of making off with a good deal of btc and hasn't isn't proof that he won't do it in the future. It makes it less likely, yes, but you can't prove that he won't do it. Even if he doesn't intend on it, someone could happen where he doesn't have internet access anymore and it looks like he ran, or god forbid something worse (hospitalization, death, etc). The point still remains that people's coins are entrusted with a central person instead of decentralized - how bitcoin is meant to be. I'd be more confident in depositing in future games if there was some sort of insurance policy/fail safe. That's one thing bitcoin is still lacking on a grand scale.

Just to clarify with you guys, vort makes a lot more off of fees, and he does it automatically, meaning he can basically leave it, go to work, whatever, and check bitcointalk once a day, and let the fees go in to his personal wallet. He has moved around 200 bitcoins, and cause he has a 7.5% fee that is 15 bitcoin, and that is legal money, not stolen whatever. By doing this ponzi for another week he could probably make close to 10 bitcoin off of fees, or he could steal 10, and risk being caught by the police. It just doesn't make sense to steal bitcoin.
Still, if he dies we are fucked cause no one else has the private key to that wallat, unlike fiat where the government can give it back (or not). I think there should be one more person that is elected to manage this or something. 2 people would be safer.

Having 2 persons manage would be safer, having money with an escrow or 2 would be very safe if it is 5BTC or more, it would actually be safer to play this ponzi than a regular bitcoin casino game

@goozman96 : we agree but it doesn't mean the ponzi has to stopped we can deal with the issues

@william : Vor makes 7.5% on the profit if I understand correctly so 7.5% of 20% = 1.5% of 200BTC = 3BTC but he has been playing as well and probably won some money by playing as well
