It's official! Cannacoin will be making a trip to Denver, CO this weekend to help promote the use of CCN to patrons of the High Times Cannabis Cup as well as local businesses and vendors.  I personally feel like I shouldn't miss this opportunity to help educate people on the potential for a crypto currency in the cannabis industry and I will be printing out and handing out flyers over the weekend as well as yapping peoples ear off.  If anyone is at the cup or happens to see us locally in Denver please feel make sure to stop by and say hi!

I can see this coin being used in the Medicinal Cannabis Industry as well as Products & Services e.g: T-shirts, Smoking Implements, Magazine Subscriptions, Etc

potcoin made an android wallet and apparently it is closed source (Not for sure about this yet). They already have investors involved that are treating it like a business. It just doesn't seem proper to me.

It seems like they are using the Marijuana image to create a business. I am starting to like potcoin less and less as the days go by.

I read a post today about how the devs and a few people are going to start a co-op to artificially increase the price. Seems so wrong to me.

Cannacoin seems like a true community coin that wants to support the cause.

I would rather get marijuana legalized then make tons of money.

Our team has started on the android wallet and has completed the wallet app itself, we are now currently in preparations for porting over a complete version of BitcoinJ/LitecoinJ for Cannacoin and can use any extra help we can get as this will be quite a task(I'm assuming this is what Potcoin will try to keep closed source). This java implementation of the cannacoind client will be necessary to complete the android project and others. I've said it numerous times, we all love the idea of a coin for the cannabis industry but the reality is is that the developers of these other coins have almost comical configurations and no true backing or experience in the cannabis industry. We will continue innovate and push projects to the community and not set arbitrary closed source dates in the future for hype and market manipulation etc.  Not only have we strategized key elements within Cannacoin source (halving rates, blocktimes, supply, diff adjustment) but, we’ve both the local and online community in Seattle with plans to roll out POS, online merchant services, tipbots, forum tips, patient to patient donation and other critical services to help expand Cannacoin and the cannabis community as a whole and not for certain individuals.

I have used mine-coin.de before when mining THC the hemp coin. They run a good pool and are there to fix any problems. I recommend them.

Today there was an issue resulting in an emergency reboot. The stratum servers where automatically re-started, but the wallets where not.
The downtime of the wallets was about a little less then 2 hours.

Nation-war mining takes mining serious and understands the issues this might have brought to you.

To compensate for the downtime, all nation-wars pools will have a 0% fee till at least 2300h CET Sunday 20th (approx 24 hours)

An update from day 1 at the High Times cup:

Today way a great day for networking and meeting some of the people at the cup as well as some of the vendors. We had a great opportunity to talk Danny Danko, the senior cultivation editor at high times about the possibility of seeing a Cannacoin/HighTimes spread! He seemed very into the idea of Cannacoin and it's potential for our community so I can only expect amazing things to come from our talks!
More updates to come from day 2.... Printing up some info and paper wallets to hand out on the floor! Tomorrow the real work begins!

 Had a hangup trying to "Cash Out" my CAN to  wallet. Emailed mine-de pool. Responded quickly and fixed glitch. Coins now in my wallet. Good news for this coin. very pleased with service from the pool I'm mining. Love the coin will remain hashing with my meager rig, But with Dif as it is I'm getting some block rewards YAY!

After 20 hours of driving and 1300 miles later, we have arrived home in Seattle!  Day 2 of the Cannabis Cup was even more of a success then day one! I was able to hand out every business card I came with and talked to more vendors and patrons then I could shake a stick at!  In fact there were more people that had heard of Bitcoin/Cannacoin then I had suspected, I guess that less than 10 people I asked didn't know about BTC which made educating people on Cannacoin very easy!  I look forward to building on the relationships started at the event and hopefully bringing you all some very large announcements soon!

You can expect the Cannacoin team at both the Seattle and San Francisco HighTimes events coming up so if you missed us in Denver don't worry, we'll see you soon!

if someone wants to solo-mine this coin with cgminer and don't know how it works, this is how i've done it:

1) download the actual Wallet, extract it and start it on your miner-pc
2) wait until its fully synced and close it again
3) make a file called "CannaCoin.conf" and place it into %appdata%\CannaCoin
4) open that CannaCoin.conf and put following text into it:

(rpcuser, rpcpassword and rpcport can be anything you like)

7) start your cgminer with the new bat file

Node-cannacoin is a cannacoin client for Node.js. It is a fork of the excellent Kapitalize Bitcoin Client (now removed from GitHub) intended for use with cannacoin. The purpose of this repository is:

• Prevent would-be cannacoin web developers worrying whether a Bitcoin client will work out of the box.
