I think it was not so ready yet as I noticed that most of the volume consumed are just plain investments that is related to trading of the coins instead of really making it functionally useful like using cryptocurrency to buy foods and other things necessary. I am hopeful that one day it will be fully implemented and functional.

Yes it needs more exposures in the main stream medias and also huge supports from the governments, but this is still impossible to happen now. I hope as time passes by more people will support it.

Cryptocurrencies remind me of the Hip-Hop movement in New York in the 70's, very few people thought it would succeed, labelled as a novelty that would soon fade away. Jazz and Disco had saturated the music industry but the community around Hip-Hop kept supporting and kept the faith and within 10 years it was not only recognised as a genre but one of the bigger genres at the time. I can see the cycle repeating itself but replace Jazz and Disco with traditional archaic payment methods/institutions.

Yes, the world is ready for cryptocurrency. Otherwise, I don't think we would be using bitcoin and blockchain the way we do today. But don't confuse being ready for it and using it globally. It might take some time before BTC becomes as usual as any fiat Wink

Although there are a few countries who uses bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies now, I cannot help but wonder if the world is truly ready for this digital currency? It will certainly be hard to replace all currencies in the world but it could happen in a decade or so, perhaps even less? Still the question is, is the world ready? I think if this happens it might be one of the biggest changes that will happen worldwide.

the governments can't tax people through bitcoin, they also can't trace the source of the money if there's some illegal activities so i don't think bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are gonna be worldwide.

The world is very much ready for the crypto currency. That is for sure, because almost everyone on the internet knew what crypto currency is.

That is an interesting thought to compare cryptocurrency with the hip-hop movement, and I sort of agree. However, I hope it will not push some other currency away, but to simply co-exist with the other cryptos. It will not happen quickly, but it will happen in the future. I believe so, too.

A cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange like normal currencies such as USD, but designed for the purpose of exchanging digital information. And there are reasons for us to get ready using the cryptocurrency such as; When cryptocurrency is created, all confirmed transactions are stored in a public ledger. All identities of coin owners are encrypted to ensure the legitimacy of record keeping. The ledger ensures that all transactions between “digital wallets” can calculate an accurate balance. All transactions are checked to make sure that the coins used are owned by the current spender.Blockchain is the reason why cryptocurrency has any value. Ease of use is the reason why cryptocurrency is in high demand. There is no other electronic cash system in which your account is owned by you. But beyond this reasons the world is not yet ready in using cryptocurrency because it's value is not stable it is the cryptocurrency main disadvantage. And also the others do not understand it very well.

That is quite true. The government can't trace the source of the money, however, if the government gets to crypto and starts using bitcoin, they might put a tax on it and even try to control it.

The world is not ready. Some countries have already introduced cryptocurrency as payment, such as Venezuela, Japan... I think that in the footsteps of these countries will be followed by many and the future with crypto is secured.

To become the mainstream, cryptography must be applied worldwide and governments, organizations, and key use cases must do a lot at the practical level. But that is what is happening. The grounds are set to change. Mass acceptance causes many events to bring it forward. Fortunately, the main advantages of blockchain & crypto currency have now been identified by the government and key business entities.

I guess we are on the stage where more and more people are getting aware what cryptocurrency is and what are it uses. more and more companies are getting interest on blockchain technology  and by due time this cryptocurrency would be a major currency in the web.

all countries in the world No need to change their currency, it might be best for them to accept bitcoin as a means of real currency transactions. because basically the use of bitcoin is to facilitate transactions and payments with very small fees. even for transactions between countries. it will make Bitcoin work with real currencies.

For me, I think the world is not yet ready for cryptocurrency because not all part of our world are modernized by technology. And there are many countries ban bitcoin so how can the world become ready if there are countries does not like cryptos.

No.  I think the question should rather be is cryptocurrency ready for the world?  Because the truth is the world can't decline crypto, adoption is very certain
