Well this is still in development and testing for Pandacoin, and other crypto currencies like ZeitCoin, it is a great tool to create interesting transactions etc.. on a web based wallet where you keep your own keys.  Based on a web based wallet tool for Bitcoin that has been expanding to support a number of alt coins Coinb.in.

This coin has so much potential, it has been a precursor in many ways (POW ...POS ... ) and went through all those crisis since more than 5 years now.
I was part of the early miners and i'm still here, perhaps not like some of the knights would like me to be, but i still have faith in this coin .
We started to have some visibilty last year, with the website/facebook page/twitter. For some obvious reason, big whales killed the exchange.
Coin is still alive but we need to bring back a bit more transactions/day, volume will probably follow

Current wallet sucks as it's so old and out of date I can't compile it as some of the dependencies aren't even available.

After not running a wallet for 4 1/2 months it seems impossible to update my node. (Snapshot is 53 days old)

The current wallet is pig on resources.

Overall lack of interest in the project.


I guess Zeit gives me a nostalgic feeling that hearken back to my early days crypto, so I still have an interest in it. I remember owning Dogecoin Dark when it got delisted from bittrex. I dumped, then a year 1/2 later it's huge! rebranded as Verge, I missed out. So I thought to myself why dump any "shit coins" that I have less then $100 of? I have backed up wallets of junk that I just leave on USB. At this point I don't care about them.
However for some reason I have tried to keep my zeitcoin wallet up to date. Perhaps it's the Idea of the "Zeit Knights" Huge whales with big bags may work together to create an eco-system.

I would like see what potential Zeit has to grow... this can only be measured by participation of the network.

The network being it's community.

Has anyone considered taking a snapshot of the UTXO set then recreating a new zeitcoin wallet?

Other then sitting and waiting for newcomers to buy old bags is there any other game plan?

Masternode are a scam to take coins out of circulation, so it is easier to pump the price for a brief period.

Everyone earns the same rate, no elitism in ZEIT.

The rate is low enough that no one can use their interest alone to get rich while never selling their principle.

The reason the price is finally stabilizing is the Ultra Low interest rate
and that some are providing liquidity to the markets so that ZEIT is suitable for micro-payments,
a utility bitcoin loss and ZEIT is better at than their upcoming LN system.
Also since the ULI is in effect the whale that has been artificially keeping the price low is running out of coins.

Knights are less than 15 now, and it is my understanding their will be no new ones ever.
Their support kept the coin alive until now, but the future support has to be by the community with the focus on micro-payments as the main utility.

As far as the size of the community, personally I have no idea, as many are silient.

well with there being no more knights ever seems odd. i would buy 100 million at this price if there seemed to be a drive to move forward. I agree with you about LN but just being suitable for micro payments doesn't make zeit used for micro payments, there are chunks of blocks that are 1000 blocks long where the only transaction is the miner reward. It's sad really because at the moment Zeit is like a blank canvas. A bunch of us could get together and make it into something.

The liquidators have not sent any correspondence to ZEITCOIN.
We have no knowledge what their agenda or plans are , or even if they are capable of accessing the old cryptopia wallet.
You can ask them directly,  but they appear less than truthful.

They don't need approval from anyone here to return zeitcoins to their rightful owners ,
so the pretense that they do is concerning.

Last time I managed to install Zeitcoin on my VPS with Ubuntu 18.04. First I've installed BDB and OpenSSL in compatible versions and then modified Zeitcoin makefile to use those compiled versions. You could try too, but don't forget to change $USER to your user name when modifying makefile.

Due to the economic damage from the coronavirus, I am no longer going to be able to support ZEITCOIN's in any financial sense.
This means the blockexplorer will need support in ~70 days , if the community wants it to continue.
If a new programmer is willing to come in and support zeitcoin, then he and the community can decide if they want to continue with the old code or swap to a new code with new specs , such as longer blocktimes of a few minutes so syncing is easier and higher interest rates so more are inclined to stake.
All of my involvement with zeitcoin will cease as of May 1st, Good Luck to all of you.
