I plan to hold all of my coins that I have now for the long run both the bitcoin and the altcoins. Holding is the best way to make the most amount of money by this time. As always, it depends on which particular coin you are going to invest in. Right now we have like a few thousand altcoins. Obviously, most of them are only copycats aimed at taking people's money. Some of them are kind of in a gray zone, neither here nor there. It means that over 90% of them won't be alive in a year or two.

So the real question for the altcoin speculator should be which coin's gonna die sooner and which later. Apart from that, holding altcoins long term doesn't sound like a good idea to me unless we talk about a dozen or even half a dozen major altcoins. And even those are not guaranteed to survive.
