Onwards .. doo eet

OMG It's SOOOO fast ... and sexy ... oh so sexy ...  Grin

Windows 10 users: If you get the blue box with "Don't Run" button, click on "more info", the tiny text below initial paragraph.

Addendum: New Install;-

Hardware: HP Envy 13-d008na Laptop (Highly Recommended 13"). SSD, Slowest 6th Gen i5 CPU Quad Core, 8GB RAM and 20MBit Wi-Fi ADSL.
Usage:
CPU: 7 - 10%
RAM: 759.7MB.
Network: Under 1Mbps

First 20,000 blocks took about 15 minutes to sync, since then they are speeding along around 50 a second from what I can gather. Will update total time taken for new wallet to sync up to date.

300,000 blocks in after 1 hour 15 minutes. Speed now over 100 blocks a second. - This is now 10x faster than previous version.

Wait to see our next version with new HTML UI and ability to purchase EMC2 directly from the wallet using Credit Cards.
This is going to be really sexy!

We just need to go through this 'Ice Age'.

A little more general information about the initial block download and how it's working now:

- Wallet is connecting to 1 peer to download ONLY the headers
- after it got a few of them, it will start downloading blocks from up to 8 peers simultaneously
- the first 56000 blocks take a lot of time and computing power for verification, this is caused by the POW code which was used then
- after they are in - rocket start

EDIT:
Important notice:

Private keys for your addresses may have changed due to the new P2SH keys. It is recommended to backup them after the update using the console "dumpprivkey <address>"

I don't know how to feel just now ... on one hand, I did warn something like this would happen if things go slow again.
On the other, I know we have capable developers now to fix almost everything and this experience is necessary in crypto.

This is reassuring, except of course for the word "almost" Smiley

developers cant combat miners with MASSIVE hash ...

only miners with MASSIVE hash can combat miners with MASSIVE hash ...

Is it safe to buy EMC2 now on Bittrex given that they STILL have the wallets frozen with the double spend attack notice, even though we've been told days ago that the devs have cleared things with Bittrex and that notice would disappear soon (which it didn't)?
Or is it safer to keep coins in one owns wallet?

Even the wallet is frozen with polo also how long it will take again to start trading. Already more than 4 days the wallet is frozen in the polo exchange, after reactivating we have to see what is the price of EMC2 is going to be.

Well, the market is still open on Bittrex, even though wallet is frozen. Price has dropped a bit and volume is very low.

this is NOT the issue of the core team now ...

it is completely at the behest of the owners / operators of the exchanges ... bittrex have been very communicative - whereas poloniex havent had a peep from ...

so if you are asking these questions here for us to answer - the answer will be the same as it has been for many many MANY pages now ... we dont know ... simple ...

if we OWNED the exchanges - we could have an answer for you easily ... since we dont - we can do as much as you can ... it seems you all forget that WE ( the emc2 team ) are holders / owners / traders of emc2 as well as you ... we are in exactly the same boat as you - and we KNOW what we have done has fixed the issues we have been encumbered with ... so now its up to the exchanges to test and reestablish full activity ... we are no different to you - and so we ask you to do the same as we do ... wait for the exchanges ...

the exchanges also have their hands full with their own unique problems - and will attend to their situations ( situations WE can do nothing about ) in their own time ...

until then - trading STILL happens and the market on bittrex ( im unsure about poloniex ) is still open ... deposits and withdrawals are the only thing frozen on bittrex ...

so smile - and watch the developments happen - one by one ... a lot in store still ...

Wink ...

Wallet done syncing from scratch after 4 hours 15 minutes on a laptop, so not shabby at all.

7 peers are showing Core v13 and only one Satoshi v9 connection. Very nice response there.

Well, this is the crucial point I think the community wants to be reassured about. That the unoknows of this issue are perfectly known and that there no unkonow unknows Smiley

### CWI-POOL - EINSTEINIUM

hi all ...

posting here just to let you know that einsteinium has now been setup as a part of the CWI-Pool System supported coins ...

the pool is designated ( and coloured ) 'alpha ( blue )' and will be for a few days while its being tested thoroughly ... if all tests are completed successfully - the 'beta ( cyan )' designation ( and colour ) will assigned ... if no issues are found and all runs well - the 'production ( brown )' designation ( and colour ) will be assigned and placed as a permanent pool in our system - with lowercase changed to caps in all the 'right' places in full production ...

being an SSO ( Single Sign On ) pool server - you only have to register once to access all the pools available for mining on this pool system ( CWI-PS01 ) ... a general 'brief' is located here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1563601.msg19254121#msg19254121 ... this brief explains primarily what the CWI-Pool designations are - and how to read them among other information to facilitate the ease of use ...

currently - the pool server is a little overloaded - so the interface ( the pool frontend you see - which is MPOS ) is a little laggy ... please just be patient with it - and refresh the page if it seems to look like its taking too long ... it will get there Wink ...

this lag in the frontend does NOT mean the backend is lagging in any way ... the mining / stratum is NOT affected by this at all - is completely responsive to all mining - and will accept ANY hash you wish to push into it ... as long as you have setup your account and miners for the pool ... your account can then be used on any of our pools from the pull down menu ...

the link to the main CWI-Pool page ...

http://pool.chainworksindustries.com/ ...

the link direct to the einsteinium CWI-Pool page ...

http://pool.chainworksindustries.com/emc2/index.php?page=dashboard ...

the url and ports for mining ...

low difficulty ( lodiff ) - 1103 ...
high difficulty ( hidiff ) - 5103 ...

as described in the general 'brief' in the link above - a quick glance at any one of our pools will give you all the information you require to mine ... all the addresses for mining are based on stratum.chainworksindustries.com ...

so if you have a smaller miner ( cpu / gpu / small asic ) - the command for the miner to mine crm would be including this ( as well as your parameters for your miner ) ...

Code:
stratum+tcp://stratum.chainworksindustries.com:1103/

and if you are mining with a larger asic / farm / rental - the command for the miner to mine crm would be including this ( as well as your parameters for your miner ) ...

Code:
stratum+tcp://stratum.chainworksindustries.com:5103/

always remember to setup your account first - and please be patient with the lag of the frontend as irritating as it can be ... we are migrating to a MUCH larger system ( a group of large dedicated servers ) and this lag will be thing of the past ... and PLEASE make sure you choose the correct port for mining with your miner - as this is crucial for submitting shares evenly and without undue duress on the stratum ports ...

a huge tanx goes out to michael of HashUnlimited - who has helped tremendously with the testing of the pool ( as CWI does not yet have scrypt asics in theFARM currently ) and all the help he nitpicked so far ... the man is thorough ... and much tanx for the support that the team have provided thus far ... we hope our CWI-Pool EMC2 - hashunlimited - and the other pools in the list on the op - go further to making this a stable and solid backbone for the EMC2 ...

our next port of call - are establishing our end of the CWI-SeedNodes which are hardcoded in the wallets also ... this should 'help' syncing by establishing a very fast network system for all the users of the NEW wallets ... so please update to these new wallets ASAP - run them and sync - and strengthen the network even further ...

if you have any issues - please dont hesitate to let us know ... either here - or our CWI-Thread thread - or our CWI-Slack - or our CWI-IRC channel ... no system is perfect - and so we will do what we can to fix any issues as soon as possible ...

we look forward to you thrashing the guts out of our CWI-Pool EMC2 - and pushing it to its limits ... so all mining is welcome - on the proper ports of course ...

tanx ...

As our guys stated already, we have done (almost) everything to get us back on track. Currently miners seem still to be a little reserved, we are missing Suprnova and two more unknown pools or individuals on the update. It needs 75% of the mined blocks to enforce the first security upgrade and 93% to get the whole blockchain updated.

For the community miners to show support, we have set the fees on pool.emc2.foundation to zero, this will remain until SegWit is active.
