There is a lot change going on in the coin market cap top 200 this days and I don't know if I'm the only one who's aware of it. Could you believe new (4months-7month ago) listed token/coin claimed much slot in the CMC top #200 list. Are those old project which belong to the spot claimed no more profitable?

Your opinion Smiley

There are still a lot of coins that not listed in coinmarketcap and some website like that have started selecting coins that really meet the coin standard to get a list there. and that certainly does not mean that the coin listed there will be a promising coin or a successfull project. there are still many that have been unlist from the list because of certain problems.

Old coins are not a problem. The problem is that the market is generally not doing so well. So 99% of the coins are almost unprofitable anyway. Wait until the market recover and we can start looking at both old and new coins again.

Old coins aren't performing as much because the king of coins isn't not allowing it. That's not to say that altcoins won't be good no more, things will start recovering at some point.

I would say yes there are some old coins might not be that profitable at the moment but who knows a few months after it will boom again. Most likely, newly listed coins will take its position in the meantime but it doesn't mean that old coins will be totally out of the picture and become invaluable. Investors will embrace this new coins and as it goes along the way, they will try to consider again those old coins that give them profit from the start.

Old coins are always profitable, so far they are still tradin on an exchange. Unless they get delisted on an exchange. then when a coin has market value it will surely be profitable. Of course, every iCO has a chance to prove their worth and be listed in the top 200 (or even top 100 later). The question is, is their coin created enough hype to do so? Actually, this is the challenge for new coins which entering the market that need to be surpassed. They should become more competitive to increase their rank by proving to its investors and prospective buyers that their coin is better than the others.

Of course not, they are still profitable. Coins that launched last year (e.g.ETN, ENG, MTC and ENJ) re still kicking in the market.  Enigma is doing great right now since it is now on the 104th spot outranking Electroneum at 120th spot. Enjin coin and Docademic (though below top 200) are also fine, take a look and you'll see an inclination in its trend.

Old coins are still profitable, it seems investors seem to shift attention to new altcoins rather than concentrate on old ones at this current bearish market. But I believe everything will be normalize when the market becomes stable. Although the bitcoin continues to maintain its market dominance.

Due to strong market competition, we can say that some coins might be buried in dip for many years. And maybe we can say that those coins aren't have potentiality which could attract investors and helping out from dying. Investors will look for newly created because of its market attraction and it might chances to gain more profit that of the old ones.

Now a days some shit coin comes to market, price gets inflated to 20x of ICO and then comes back and set at ICO price or even lower. This is just manipulation or say gamble. They are not for long term while good old coins are. Everything is down now, but it doesn't mean that they won't grow back. If they have good tech and team behind them, they will grow back and give profits.

Being old is not the criteria to use in knowing a profitable coin. I do not invest in old coin except ethereum, bitcoin, eos, stellar and neo. I invest in coin that  are just listed in coinmarketcap that the concept look promising.

to invest my advice is to understand what coins to buy, and do not buy tokens that are not popular, even though the tokens are old in the CMC, because every day new tokens arrive so investors will choose carefully. Don't let you lose ... !!

I don't think so. The whole market isn't so good now and this has affected the old coins.. But as things get better, the old coins will find their feet again and move up, especially the really good coins.
For the newer coins, they are in with a lot of hype and awareness but the current market still affects them all.

Profitable or not depends on the development team and the coin community, it doesn't matter how long the coin stands if the performance of the developer and the coin community is good I think the coin will be good as well. So basically a good coin has good development team behind it.

I actually think that this is only the effect of the bear season. There will surely be a huge configuration in the order of the top 200 coins because most of them are proof of works. Needless to say, there might be some other factors which affects the whole market and that includes a decrease in the number of investors and buyers.

Profitable or not it all depends on the development team. No matter how long they stand there, they will not have the opportunity to develop if their performance never improves. The point is the success of a coin both old and new is largely determined by the performance of the developer.
I know the developer have a vital role to play in making a project successful but I don't believe the performance of the developer only will determine the success of a project because the online promotional crew and the marketing crew also have a vital role to play.

The coin on coinmarketcap are not arranged base on trade volume or active market state but on the whole market capital of the project. A 2 million dollar project may have a active trade volume but because of the volume may not make the top 200 top list
Yes, coin are rank on coin market cap base on there capital market but the issue with the coins I'm talking about is different cause the coin that belong to the spot are actually not doing well in the market.

nor is it like that, usually the first one has the most stable value and becomes a reference, because the old coin proves that it is capable of holding the trust given by its users, even though many new coins I think it will not shift the existence of old coins, although maybe the price new coins are better than old coins but I am sure they will not last long, just like promotions, which last a little after the practice and many of their enthusiasts are no longer committed, up and down the price of old coins is reasonable, but can be exis and continue to survive it needs to be consideration

Many old coins are now very far down due to the impact of decreasing bitcoin.

the old coins that aren't profitable at the moment but the good ones will stay alive while the bad ones will go to zero.
