It really depends on how well these old coins are doing and how much they establish in the cryptocurrency world. Some old coins are really quite still profitable specially those who are really popular. Bitcoin is one of the oldest coin out there and look at it, still very profitable right now.

Newer coin tends to rank higher at cmc because they bring new hype but it doesn't mean that the old coin is not profitable anymore, it's just the ico phase is over and right now they are focusing on the development and there's nothing to be hyped until they release something. Usually they set the release of the plaform (or demo) one year after the ico so if there's still nothing after a year then I will reconsider holding that coin or not.

You're absolutely right. Usually a crypto currency is more profitable at the initial phase of its developing. But if the team won't abandon their coin or token, this crypto currency will evolve and grow further. For example, look at Dogecoin. It is an old coin that already mined and has no inflation. But people still use it for making a cheap transactions and recently DOGE has been pumped +30% on the crypto exchange markets.

Thus, an old coin can be profitable. It mostly depends on the community that support this crypto currency.

what about bitcoin? bitcoin is abandoned by its developer satoshi nakamoto but why it is still indemand ?  that will only define that coins can still grow even if they are abandoned or discontinued because people will still be able to use them for other purpose  , not just on why they are built .

profitability wont also matter on how new or old the coin is because profitability will also depend on your skills and abillity to understand on how crypto market works .

Actually I don't know this opinion because already I have to hold 100+ old coin but don't give me profitable.my hold time totally 7 month up, basically I don't know when this coin going up and give me profitable.

Take the example of DOGE. The price increased few days ago and it's still high compare to the past price of it before the pump. Doge is one of the oldest coins in the cryptocurrency market and this is treated like a joke coin though that's true but it still has a good use for having lesser fees and faster confirmation. 

This probably depends on the users discretion of the old coins he's about to choose.

I do not think that. Old projects are not going to stand still. They are taking a long time to enter their field and they need a long time to develop and capture a share of the market. So investing in some ICO projects is risky and takes a lot of time to make a big profit.

I don't think it will be very useful and bring big profits. except for large-scale trading.
I have more interest in altcoin top like eth, ripple and neo. according to my analysis, of all the altcoins that are spread in the most contested market are the ones I have mentioned.

Yeah even though the possibility exists but it will certainly be a little risky. there are many more potential altcoin and more innovative, even more sophisticated ones. it's better that you choose and invest in the new coin rather than looking for potential in old coins that don't necessarily exist

For now the market is being depressed but if do not sell your old coin in low value only because when the market soon will be recover your old coin in market the price will be stable and it can be profitable just have a patience to hold it and wait for recovery not now but soon.

We can't just say it yet if the old coins are not profitable anymore.. we don't know when those old coins will gain value. But I am sure those old coins can be used to convert to top token listed on CMC. Kindly retract those old coins if the developers is still promoting their tokens if yes, there is a chance it will like BTC and ETH.

No it is not true that when an one coin is already old then it is not profitable already. If the coin is old the price of it is more profitable than before it is launched.

Though even some strong coins won't reach their previous peaks, as December 2017 was really insane.

Most oldcoin ignore by new investor. Beside that, oldcoin project dont have progress. Right now, many new coin from new ICOs dominating top 200 coin in market because new investor prefer choosing new project with good developers team. But bitcoin is oldcoin and i think not many oldcoin are profitable

I don't think so, numerous old coin was drop cost and have more lower cost than previously. I have some altcoin on my wallet over two years, yet nothing change of their cost with still more lower cost. Perhaps require over ten years to see its be lower or higher.

Old coin are more reliable than most of this new token , though they might not be in top 200 you made mentioned but are far better and have good potential to grow when the bull market return, don't also forget that most of the new token raised large some of money while in ICOs stage which gives them that opportunity to be in top 200 and when the real use and long in the market show case itself then we will know how strong and great they are.

LTC still is profitable and this is thought to be one of the oldest in crypto. It is as yet profitable in light of its price that keeps climbing still. Its solitary now that the price plunges as everything did too. After a year those new ones you see as new and are more propel token will be old as well. The more established the coin the more it turns out to be a decent coin.
