This is pretty much crypto, you're always due to do your own research.
We've seen 'legit' projects such as Oyster Pearl going down the drain and projects that were assumed as scams turning out legit.
It's definitely becoming more difficult to know which projects are legit now. Since a lot of the time only the person at the very top knows about the impending scam, leaving the others to pick up the pieces. Exchanges can't really be blamed for listing tokens that turn out to be scams, since most of the time it is practically impossible to know in advance as for all intents and purposes the projects are a success until the scam. Indeed, there have been cases in which even everyone working on the company got burnt. I'm pretty sure individuals working for Oyster had no clue of what was going to happen. The most exchanges can do is a thorough study of the whitepaper and a detailed check on the team background.

Ah,
Just checked through the coins and tokens available, seems you have quite a few solid projects, e.g. LatiumX and OriginTrail.
Do you obtain a store of tokens directly from the projects, since I noticed a few times you said certain tokens were out of stock?

Indeed, they do. I'm also a holder of LatiumX, OriginalTrail, ClearPoll. Their whitepaper actually sums their system pretty well. For liquidity, if they don’t have a token in stock they mimic orders on exchanges. Also users assume they only have 1 wallet and if that wallet doesn’t have a token in it then they can’t fulfil the order. That isn't the case though. They have 5+ wallets and they are able to fill nearly every order and refunds are only done if absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the info, glad to see they have a solution for liquidity issues, that's something smaller exchanges typically struggle with. Nice article with McAfee by the way, hilarious I've got this thread saved, I'll be checking on it regularly as the project looks to be just what I need.

We get tokens from 2 ways. We have an over the counter option that we work with directly with some projects and with private token holders. This allows us to provide more liquidity at locked in rate. We use exchanges for projects we don’t work with directly and Ethershift provides the liquidity. We are never “out of token” some people just think this Bc they look at our single public main wallet. If liquidity is not available for a certain order size of a token, sometimes their deposit is refunded. But we are able to process a giant majority of the transactions with no issue.

Etherdelta is a bad exchange, not something I'm keen on using. Looking forward to Ethershift taking over the number one spot as the go to exchange for Ethereum based tokens, even the new ICO ones

I ain't a big fan of Etherdelta either, Ethershift is just way much easier to use. Love the way they're getting involved with the community as well - https://twitter.com/ethershiftco/status/1061120679515512832Tag any project with an ERC20 token that you want to see listed on Ethershift and they will pick one new token to list next week! If they pick the token you tagged, they will send you $100 worth of the token!

Not to mention the founder of EtherDelta just got prosecuted for running his exchange in the US. Another one bites the dust. This project has crazy strong advisors, definitely surprised me when I saw McAfee's name on your website, lol. Are you going to be adding any more?

We are operating out of Antigua so we’re good on that front. We are talking to some other advisors and will announce any new ones as they officially join the Ethershift team.

Why did you choose Antigua? Any particular reason? And can you tell us how much has been raised so far?

Why did you choose Antigua? Any particular reason? And can you tell us how much has been raised so far? Our lawyer helped us in the decision regarding Antigua. But they have really flexible laws for stuff like this and are happy to work with crypto businesses. They also have a long history of protecting their businesses from US intervention. Online gambling is a good example.

Huge announcement! Reducing the hard cap and airdropping over 30% of the entire ESH supply to ESH holders! Now it has became even more enticing to buy ESH tokens, well done!

Great news, you've thoroughly convinced me to get involved with that move, it's always great to see a project that looks after their supporters. How comes you decided to split the airdrop into 12 segments though?

How comes you decided to split the airdrop into 12 segments though? We decided to split the airdrop in 2, and give one part to people that contributed to the token sale and the rest to attract new buyers in the future. Giving monthly airdrops in 2019 will provide more demand for the token as people buy to receive the airdrop. As the price of the ESH token rises, the USD price of the airdrop will increase which will attract new people to the project.

It's a good decision and there is no problem with that. What about that 20% ? If it is supposed to be sold in the future, the details should be announced soon. ICO contributors should know what will happen to the tokens.

The airdrop is just split into two timeframes. The single airdrop in December and the monthly airdrops in 2019.

There are many projects these days. Most of them are only collecting money and there is no guarantee that there will be a working product. But your exchange is working while the token sale has not ended yet. Ethershift investors won't be worry of the future. You're welcome. Let me know if you have any other questions.
