This often gets resolved as the next block is added to the blockchain and then the nodes can verify that this chain is the longest and most valid chain, rendering the other chain invalid.

A hard fork is a kind of split or divergence where the community decides they will no longer follow the same protocols on the same blockchain.

When that happens, they will sell as quickly as possible and race with each other to sell to the highest bidder first until the total bids are fulfilled, then move on to sell to the next (lower) bidder and so on
