It depends on the physical that you are talking about. Naturally, you might not be able to handle bitcoin physically but can transact on it via the internet or through bitcoin ATM. You can as well buy whatever you want to buy using these means.

Visa, American Express and Mastercard are not offering payments with cryptocurencies, at least for now. You can make purchases with BTC online though in quite a lot of online stores. Just google them and you'll find it.

Things will definitely evolve over the period of time, as of now not even a single merchant in my city is accepting Bitcoin as a payment instrument. However, that doesn't mean Bitcoin is useless. I have to rely on online websites to spend my Bitcoins as I believe the movement is a growth. I am waiting for the day where we will be able to use Bitcoin even for the microtransactions because, in most of the cases, Bitcoin is not user friendly in case of microtransactions as most of the things of daily need are available at the price of Bitcoin transaction fee so why would someone pay excess amount if he can technically get it for free.

It should be practical for stuff with higher price tag like electronics or pile of stock stuffs, still it wouldn't be that useful for purchasing pizza though considering the transaction speed and fee it required, it certainly is growing to be as should be with increasing number of merchants. If you have knowledge in how bitcoin works there's nothing fishy about owning and using it

-snip-
You could get physical debit-card issued by wavecrest through different sites (like advcash). You could deposit using bitcoin and top up your card and use it anywhere starting from POS transactions to withdrawing money from atms. But sadly VISA and MASTERCARD cut ties with those companies that issue cards and only allows few selected issuers that are fully regulating their users (starting from KYC verification to region restriction).

I normally ONLY use bitcoin as my currency. I use it almost everyday for buying all sorts of things. To my mind, you are not a bitcoiner if you don't use it as money.  But what I think does not really matter. Anyway, here is how to live life at a discount.

Buy some bitcoin when there is a crash. Today is a good day actually. Don't wait until everyone is buying and the price is going parabolic. Buy when everyone is saying "bitcoin is dead".  Now wait until the price goes up. If you had bought last week you could have seen a rise of over $1000 per coin. When the price is up go shopping! There are over 100K places that take bitcoin and if you look you can find about anything. I recommend a place like Overstock.com as a start. Their payment system is very familiar and easy to use with bitcoin.

Now deposit more money into your exchange and set a low buy price to start all over again.  By repeatedly doing this you end up living life at a discount. Not only are you saving on trade fees by spending BTC, you often get an additional discount for using them. At Overstock I think it's 3%. Why? Because you saved them 3% over what they would pay for a credit card purchase.

If you must fancy yourself an "investor" then consider diversifying by directly using your BTC. For example you could buy a gold bar from here:
( https://www.amagimetals.com/gold/bars/10-oz-pamp-suisse-gold-bar-999-fine-gold.html ) Notice that you are paying about $400 less than if you had used a credit card. P.S. don't buy alts to diversify. ALL alts are tied to the price of bitcoin and do not diversify your portfolio at all.

Cheers, RDX

Actually, it depends on the community or people in the world. Are they already accepted bitcoin as a currency or not, when all of use already accepted it. Then it will be easier to use it as a currency.

I would wait until the lightning network is released and the fees are much cheaper and the speed is much faster. There are TONS of legit sites that you can buy anything online, except using Bitcoin.

Most of us can not use in some reason. Firstly we don't want to use it because we are waiting price go to moon. Secondly, we don't wan't to regret in future. Because someone has bought some pizza with lots of Bitcoin.

BIG WINNER!

For the popularity of bitcoun and demand in public it became the best coin of the crypto currency  and it is now the king of crypto world. And everyday all the new currencies are launching in the crypto market people exchange them or buy them using bitcoin. Local bitcoiner also sell them to each other and somewhere bitcoin is now accepted to exchange ingrediants also.Though bitcoin has done a  great success but it is till hard to use bitcoin as a practical currency.

You can make purchases with BTC online though in quite a lot of online stores. Just google them and you'll find it.

How you manage your BTC account? By using app or direct from coinbase?

a) directly from exchanges itself
- Some exchanges have online partners stores so finding a store will not be difficult.

b) directly from the online merchants
- Just like the usual online shop with BTC payment on it.

it's too early to use btc in everyday life. moreover, the markets are moving so fast that the value of what you buy as the money is transferred changes.

Using bitcoin as a practical currency will be a little bit hard and even here is also a probability to fail.I agree that bitcoin is popular and people wanta to earn bitcoin but the bitcoin currency has a limitation among the crypto users and  normal people dont even know about bitcoin.so In some country It is very hard to use bitcoin as a paper currency and some country has banned bitcoin and I belong from one of those cohntries.so I cant use bitcoin as a paper currency.

You can use bitcoin as a practical currency, because it is one and people accept it to be one. That is not the debate.

I mean, just go to any online store that accepts cryptos and buy something. Bitcoin is fulfilling its role as a practical currency right there, on the base level. You are using it as a medium of exchange across the internet.

I think that what you mean by "practical currency" is really "real life adoption and use", which is definitely low right now. However, as more merchants enter the market, this could change. With time, I think we could see the possibility of seeing major retailers accepting bitcoin worldwide, if not smaller ones as well.
