Hi dev,

Thanks again for a great miner. I have been using wildrig since version 12.0 for my RX Vega rig to mine x16 algos and HEX

I am currently mining hex and the miner is reporting over 10Mh per card at all times, highest is ~15Mh.  However, pool side I am averaging less than 10Mh. Any suggestions on improving pool side performance?

My current config is
Code:
--algo hex --opencl-platform=1 --opencl-threads 2 --opencl-launch=23x0 --strategy=1 --multiple-instance --url

I have tried 22x64 22x128 22x256 and 23x64 23x128 23x256

I seem to get similar results over time with all different intensities and worksizes

Thanks,
B

The dev of this miner brings all the miners a big help, it's easy to use and the updates is regular to add more features and specially, to improve the performance of the miner in the new algo, kudos the the team!

Hi, what pool are you using? Also what clocks of Vega do you get in dynamic?

What afterburner overclock would you recommend for RX 480 8 G bc drivers? Now I set 1130/2100

Why this version is catched by Windows antivirus ? That never happened with previous versions I've used

Because AntiViruses don't like miners at all, and with every update of miner or AntiVirus - thing changes. Anyway, latest version(preview 7) is most clean: VirusTotal 3 / 71, but I don't care.

I have vega56 cards at 1408 & vega64's 1504
I have tried 3 pools now for hex algo  gpuhash, the cryptominerpool, and thepoollife
I usually let it run for 4-6 hours before even trying to judge pools side performance

Really nice job on the rainforest algo -- used auto on rig with 480/570/580 8gb working wonderfully.  Oc'd on core left mem at stock and power alone.

Damn, looks like found a problem... As a solution add parameter --diff-factor 128. Will fix this in next release.

UPDATE: started here my own test on zergpool for hex-algo, hashrate is pretty stable without --diff-factor 128 and around that values I have in miner, so maybe your problem with something else.

OK dev...

I'll take any optimizations you have got for my RX Vega cards....
Just talked to my buddy getting 75Mh pool side with 3x 1080ti's

I can't believe that his 3x 1080ti's are hasing almost what my 9x vegas are.  Huh

Welcome to my world.
I keep saying x16 algos are grossly unoptimised on AMD miners.
Nothing personal against andrucrypt, he's basically alone having done a decent miner for AMD. But without competition, why would he bother optimising to death? He prefers focusing on other stuff.

The optimisation war nVidia devs (Z-Enemy, T-Rex and CryptoDredge) have had on x16 shows how huge the difference is.

Well dragonmike,

I am, at the very least, grateful to know I am not alone.

It just sucks knowing that these Vega cards are not reaching their potential. Literally not even close to what they should be able to do theoretically.
Maybe we should gather a private fund to donate to AndruCrypt for his work on AMD. He is literally the only one doing anything for those of us with these AMD cards.

Or, Andrucrypt, if you want some incentive... I am willing to publicly state, I will happily mine away on a AMD specific version of wildrig with double, or even triple, the dev fee if you can get my Vega cards up there competing with those darn 1080's  Grin

Either way, I am grateful he has at least given us something to work with.... more than any other mining software for hex or x16 variants.    Cool

Soo, I made two hours test of RX590 on zergpool mining hex algo, and avg. is 10-11MH/s with 150-160W(but I didn't downvolt it much, 1050mV per core). And I tested it without custom --diff-factor, so your reason of low hashrate is something else.
