The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

We are currently testing the pool server, which we will release asap. Thought we would be ready Friday, but still needs some tweaks, 90% complete though, so coming soon!

Should I consider AppleByte a city based coin where the rest of the world is irrelevant ?

Great coin, but....  What will the avg crytpo person do with it?  It's great that it supports artists, but what do most crypto people mine or buy coins for?  To make a profit or to spend them.  There is nothing for us to spend our coins on.  No games!!  So when the price starts dropping, people dump!!  You need to provide a value to this coin!!  Give people a reason to WANT to buy it!!  Otherwise you like so many coins just will fade into the 1 SAT, no one buying and no one mining catagory.

I agree.... there is no incentive. how about a lucky draw? Entry fee of 1000 coins and eligible for first 100 people. Winner gets 100k coins Smiley That would put some incentive to buy. We also need one more exchange. Have you tried contacting bittrex? They are very open to taking new coins, especially with an active dev.

Great feedback, guys. We are so focused on the user community, artists, et al, I think you have a good point, we need to look at the value to the avg crypto person as well. You gave me one suggestion, I would welcome some more!

Search FB, there are plenty of artists (drawing) there.  I think you need to expand beyond NY.  Personally I don't care about just NY artists.  But if you get artists to sell artwork for ABY, then people will buy!!  I think you need to drop the whole NY thing.

No, AppleByte is to support any artist, anywhere in the world, not just New York. We have "launched" in NYC so we can effectively focus our resources on building an active community, for example:

 - Distributing flyers to all art schools, media centers, venues, artists hangouts in the city.
 - Creating local events, ways for artists & art lovers to spend ABY for concerts, theater tickets, gallery openings, etc
 - Providing scholarships to artists to attend classes in NY, paid in AppleBytes.
 - Providing local social events, for example at a local bar, providing drinks, paid in AppleBytes

All of these things can be done anywhere in the world, but NYC has a huge concentration of artists. Once we build the core there, we can expand those efforts in other cities

There is a legitimate use of premine.

Our Devs were paid in BTC, funded by our Indiegogo campaign, not premine
The premine funds the AppleByte Foundation for artists scholarships & Awards, paid out over the next 8-10 years, so No Airdrop means no flooding the market with coins.
