I believe ICO is the bedrock of every project that can ever have a successful execution because it through ICO that the needed found will be rase in other for the team to be able to take the project to a successful and conclusive end. ICO is very important because it also give investors the chance to own shares in the project.

Normally, the shares of companies are offered to the public to raise money. ICO is also a public offering. Of course, money is needed to develop projects. Usually the amount of money collected is quite high and it is a different question whether they are managed appropriately.

I think ICO is a good method for a new startup and it should exist. The necessity of ICO's is actually huge. It is more like crowdfunding but with tokens. ICO helps entrepreneurs to launch their product by pre-selling shares worldwide where traditional crowdfunding has many limitations.

Yes, you are correct. ICO is not the only way to advertise a project, but maybe it is about the effectiveness. In my view, ICO is still the best way to advertise and to promote a project since ICO can involve many people who really understand about crypto. The promotion can be through some crypto forums including investors, traders, and crypto enthusiasts that potentially will join the project.

If me my opinion ICO will help developer, if they will scamming member or anything else related with that, now we have escrow if peple want to. It all depends on us to pick which is ico good in market or not.

ICO is important if the project is legit and legal and they comply to all the rules and the team are honest and transparent on what they are going to do with the funds they raise, but it is being abused by fraud people, some of them posting fake address and people to their team to make it appear legit, this is the other face of ICO that I want stopped.

As i can see,  not all ico are necessary, because in rarely scenario, ico are worth it to do (join, particilate, to invest). But most of the time ico are such a scambag that run awat after the ico finished. Meaning you have to aware which ico youve choose to avoid of being scam.

Yes it is necessary. Most of the good existing projects nowadays started with their ICO. Every project needs to be funded before it can take off and funds would only come from investors. In return to the investors, profit would be given when the project succeeded. Now, there's no doubt ICO is necessary but the issue is the there is a lot of scammed ICO. One way to resolve that problem is to set up rules and regulations.

Indeed. That's the purpose of the started an ICO, in addition to project development, ICO funds are also usually used by teams to listing their tokens to a common and famous places. It can be run without an ICO, but it is possible that the development will look so slow and not in accordance with the schedule.

ICOs are a great tool for raising funds. It can help a project to be developed. Also, it can help investors to make profit. So, there is no doubt the concept is great. But unfortunately there are many problems. There must be an organization or an authority that can stop scams.
I personally have not an idea how this problem can be solved. Because I don't know how we can have both decentralization and regulation at the same time. But this problem must be finally solved.

ICO can be a means of financing a good project, but some people have taken advantage of this platform to bring about loss to so many people by scamming them. Thats right many investors falls to ICO scam because of lack of knowledge about the background of each projects ,  the only ICO i trust right now is the WPP Energy that is based on Switzerland a company of professionals in energy sector with patented renewable technologies that are already implemented to some countries !

ICO is indeed a fine way to raise a fund for a company. Sadly cryptocurrencies communities make it as a get rich quick scheme. It makes the ICO images becomes bad due to that irresponsible scammer. The problem is on the communities not on the ICO method itself.

Yes and no.  As a concept I see the value it brings to the project and investors.  Investors can invest any amount they want and fund a project.  The project gets the funds they need.  In the United States, ordinary citizens cannot participate in Venture Funding because that requires a $200,000 minimum investment.  There is no way that an ordinary person can reap those benefits with that kind of limit. 

On the other hand it's relatively easy to create a website, make a jargon-laden whitepaper with made up words that sound impressive and create fake social media profiles too fool people into handing over money for a project that has no future.
