Due to the increased popularity of cryptocurrencies, there has been an increased number of scammers both in terms of ICOs and in social media. You would find "official" representatives that would "propose lucrative deals" in the name of the legit company. There is only one result as a consequence - you losing your assets.
Thus, always keep in mind that real official channels of communications work. Also, if you see those posts in social media promising returns without a legit background (a.k.a. a full-blown platform) is a sure way to lose money. Creating bots on Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram is quite easy these days. Make sure not to repeat mistakes that others made before you https://www.cryptocointrade.com/
Not to mention mining pools and app scams going on right now. Some of the Facebook groups that were excellent in terms of trading discussions now turned into scam marketing sites.
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Scamming had always existed long before the Advent of cryptocurrency. Cryptosphere arrival only created another platform to would-be scammers to continue the act, so this is nothing new other than people have to be less greedy and more careful not to get scammed.

I am sure your intention is to make everyone aware about the scams out there. However there is also one important thing here, crypto ICO projects can only be invested after you take the risk and jump into it right away. There is no other way on the globe where you can definitely say that this is the legit project of all time. No it doesnt work like that, you still have to work hard for it and keep yourself updated with the team all the time. The best way and closest to idejnfitiying the legitimacy is to keep in touch with the ICO team. Telegram is the medium which has become very popular for the ICO and thats the only place where admins can be reached out quickly. Just score them according to their communication speed, accuracy and stuff like that which can help you get idea abut their legitimacy.

Nothing you can do about it other than educate yourselves and others, there are some quite clever scams out there that target the noobs. Unfortunately, there is no central force that takes it upon themselves to inform the community to ensure these types of scams less successful, meaning hundreds of people still fall victim to them every day. Most of the time the amount lost is not huge, so it provides a great life lesson, sometimes you have to lose something small to gain something better, in this case knowledge.

I think the scam is not just happening in the cryptocurrency but also happen in many fields. as long as there are money involved, I think it will attract people to scam other people because they want to make money in a short way. there are the various way that they can use to scam people and we don't know if they are scammers or not and only with careful, we can anticipate their action. don't get attracted with the words saying the big potential income of one project because all the works that we did will need a process that we don't know how long it takes.

The more popular cryptocurrency is, the more scammers will be because they see huge profits from cryptocurrency and there is also no legal certainty for cryptocurrency scammers, preferably if anyone can show a scammer who has enough evidence to inform the forum to minimize the cryptocurrency scammer case

It is nothing new and scammers will always find a way to steal from the gullible ones even if there was no crypto space as we have seen it several times in the past.

What is important is for each individual to try as much as possible to get themselves equipped with knowledge on how to research a project thoroughly before investing. That targets are usually those investors that always refuse to pay attention to details all in the name of making quick money, so it is better not to be such investor.

I didn't see anyone link to this thread, so I'll do it.  Take a look at how many scam ICOs have been advertised here--it's mind boggling.

I've never invested in an ICO, and I don't plan to ever do so.  Most of these projects are obviously blatant scams with pretty packaging and nothing more.  Most claim to have ideas for problems where a blockchain solution doesn't even make sense.

For those of you without a sense of history, check out the South Sea Bubble, particularly how many new ideas were coming out for people to invest in--in the linked Wikipedia article, see the "Top Reached" section.

Same thing happened not too long ago with the dot com bubble, where venture capitalists were funding any business plan, no matter how ridiculous and unprofitable it was, without question as long as it had something to do with the internet.

My point is that people go crazy sometimes where money is involved.  Lots of folks saw how rich early investors in bitcoin got, and they're either trying to replicate the success OR scamming people who are looking for the next bitcoin.  This is going to end eventually, and just wait--these ICO bounties are going to be a thing of the past.

Actually lots of people in crypto have contributed to increasing number of scams, because of their greed. Lack of regulations, ignorance, hype and much more, there have been great environment for scammers.

You would find "official" representatives that would "propose lucrative deals" in the name of the legit company. There is only one result as a consequence - you losing your assets.

"If it's too good to be true", so don't fall for this trap. Used your common sense and don't be greedy as well. Scammers are out there, offering you lucrative deals but you have to ask your self, if this realistic? If you think that its not then don't involved yourself.

Thus, always keep in mind that real official channels of communications work. Also, if you see those posts in social media promising returns without a legit background (a.k.a. a full-blown platform) is a sure way to lose money. That's why you really need to be careful, not just for scammers but for phishing links as well. Sometimes its healthy to lose, to give you a valuable lessons. Personally, I fall for a HYIP early in my crypto journey, its a rude awaking on my end so I became very suspicious of everything I see. If I wanted to invest, I also do my own research first and see if its legit or not.

There is always a saying that goes like this, "If it sounds so good to be true then know it is not true" most people get scammed because they are greedy and so carried away, always verify and re-verify any thing crypto related that you want to do.

The blockchain realm is plagued with those looking to cash in on greed and naivety. What follows are predominant crypto scams on platforms used often in cryptocurrency. So we need to fight back. If you notice a scammer account on Telegram or Discord, definitely notify the real team members so they may take action. If you’re approached by a scammer on Telegram, the quickest way to handle it is simply click ‘Report Spam.’ After a few incidents of this, the scammer will be unable to message new people, protecting would-be victims. This effort is key, as it enables requiring them to use a new account to continue their scheme. We ar Primary have the practice to never PM any of our member first to avoid people get scammed.

The scam was entered mostly because of more profitable platform in the society. But we should not predict how to catch him properly in the market. I think families and friends are acceptable but most of the peoples are having number of alt account in privately so it could be affect the signature campaign. Because the rules are given multiple accounts are not allowed so manager's only choose the desire participants. We are all aware in the crypto community automatically scammers are reduced in this forum.

I find that using common sense and using your brain usually helps you steer clear of any potential scams out there. For example, if anything's promising returns of any sort, chances are what you're being offered is a scam. If it's too good to be true, it definitely is, and there's always strings attached.

ICOs are inherently risky, and things have only gotten worse over the years as ICOs have exploded in numbers. The only ICO I've ever become involved in and invested in was Iconomi, and I've never taken a look at any ICOs since. Most ICO threads are filled with useless spam, and the ICOs themselves are often horribly managed.

Yes i found many link phising of exchanges and wallet, so when we put money in to cryptocurrency is important to make sure we have some knowledge how to avoid it. Hacker is always looking for many ways to stolen our money,  so we should also have protection for our digital asset. Use anti malware on every device and always login by use bookmark link is one of the way to avoid that.
