Due to the increased popularity of cryptocurrencies, there has been an increased number of scammers both in terms of ICOs and in social media. You would find "official" representatives that would "propose lucrative deals" in the name of the legit company. There is only one result as a consequence - you losing your assets. Thus, always keep in mind that real official channels of communications work. Also, if you see those posts in social media promising returns without a legit background (a.k.a. a full-blown platform) is a sure way to lose money. Creating bots on Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram is quite easy these days. Make sure not to repeat mistakes that others made before you https://www.cryptocointrade.com/Not to mention mining pools and app scams going on right now. Some of the Facebook groups that were excellent in terms of trading discussions now turned into scam marketing sites.

I am sure your intention is to make everyone aware about the scams out there. However there is also one important thing here, crypto ICO projects can only be invested after you take the risk and jump into it right away. There is no other way on the globe where you can definitely say that this is the legit project of all time. No it doesnt work like that, you still have to work hard for it and keep yourself updated with the team all the time. The best way and closest to idejnfitiying the legitimacy is to keep in touch with the ICO team. Telegram is the medium which has become very popular for the ICO and thats the only place where admins can be reached out quickly. Just score them according to their communication speed, accuracy and stuff like that which can help you get idea abut their legitimacy.

Nothing you can do about it other than educate yourselves and others, there are some quite clever scams out there that target the noobs. Unfortunately, there is no central force that takes it upon themselves to inform the community to ensure these types of scams less successful, meaning hundreds of people still fall victim to them every day. Most of the time the amount lost is not huge, so it provides a great life lesson, sometimes you have to lose something small to gain something better, in this case knowledge.

I think the scam is not just happening in the cryptocurrency but also happen in many fields. as long as there are money involved, I think it will attract people to scam other people because they want to make money in a short way. there are the various way that they can use to scam people and we don't know if they are scammers or not and only with careful, we can anticipate their action. don't get attracted with the words saying the big potential income of one project because all the works that we did will need a process that we don't know how long it takes.

The more popular cryptocurrency is, the more scammers will be because they see huge profits from cryptocurrency and there is also no legal certainty for cryptocurrency scammers, preferably if anyone can show a scammer who has enough evidence to inform the forum to minimize the cryptocurrency scammer case

It is nothing new and scammers will always find a way to steal from the gullible ones even if there was no crypto space as we have seen it several times in the past.
What is important is for each individual to try as much as possible to get themselves equipped with knowledge on how to research a project thoroughly before investing. That targets are usually those investors that always refuse to pay attention to details all in the name of making quick money, so it is better not to be such investor.

I didn't see anyone link to this thread, so I'll do it. Take a look at how many scam ICOs have been advertised here--it's mind boggling. I've never invested in an ICO, and I don't plan to ever do so. Most of these projects are obviously blatant scams with pretty packaging and nothing more. Most claim to have ideas for problems where a blockchain solution doesn't even make sense. For those of you without a sense of history, check out the South Sea Bubble, particularly how many new ideas were coming out for people to invest in--in the linked Wikipedia article, see the "Top Reached" section. Same thing happened not too long ago with the dot com bubble, where venture capitalists were funding any business plan, no matter how ridiculous and unprofitable it was, without question as long as it had something to do with the internet. My point is that people go crazy sometimes where money is involved. Lots of folks saw how rich early investors in bitcoin got, and they're either trying to replicate the success OR scamming people who are looking for the next bitcoin. This is going to end eventually, and just wait--these ICO bounties are going to be a thing of the past.

"If it's too good to be true", so don't fall for this trap. Used your common sense and don't be greedy as well. Scammers are out there, offering you lucrative deals but you have to ask your self, if this realistic? If you think that its not then don't involved yourself. Thus, always keep in mind that real official channels of communications work. Also, if you see those posts in social media promising returns without a legit background (a.k.a. a full-blown platform) is a sure way to lose money. Personally, I fall for a HYIP early in my crypto journey, its a rude awaking on my end so I became very suspicious of everything I see. If I wanted to invest, I also do my own research first and see if its legit or not.

The blockchain realm is plagued with those looking to cash in on greed and naivety. What follows are predominant crypto scams on platforms used often in cryptocurrency. So we need to fight back. If you notice a scammer account on Telegram or Discord, definitely notify the real team members so they may take action. If you’re approached by a scammer on Telegram, the quickest way to handle it is simply click ‘Report Spam.’ After a few incidents of this, the scammer will be unable to message new people, protecting would-be victims. This effort is key, as it enables requiring them to use a new account to continue their scheme. We ar Primary have the practice to never PM any of our member first to avoid people get scammed.

The scam was entered mostly because of more profitable platform in the society. But we should not predict how to catch him properly in the market. I think families and friends are acceptable but most of the peoples are having number of alt account in privately so it could be affect the signature campaign. Because the rules are given multiple accounts are not allowed so manager's only choose the desire participants. We are all aware in the crypto community automatically scammers are reduced in this forum.

I find that using common sense and using your brain usually helps you steer clear of any potential scams out there. For example, if anything's promising returns of any sort, chances are what you're being offered is a scam. If it's too good to be true, it definitely is, and there's always strings attached.
ICOs are inherently risky, and things have only gotten worse over the years as ICOs have exploded in numbers. The only ICO I've ever become involved in and invested in was Iconomi, and I've never taken a look at any ICOs since. Most ICO threads are filled with useless spam, and the ICOs themselves are often horribly managed.

Yes i found many link phising of exchanges and wallet, so when we put money in to cryptocurrency is important to make sure we have some knowledge how to avoid it. Hacker is always looking for many ways to stolen our money, so we should also have protection for our digital asset. Use anti malware on every device and always login by use bookmark link is one of the way to avoid that.

Yes, they have existed in this market as far as we know, remember the HYIP boom around 2015-2017, many newbies that time including myself fall for that trap. But as we grew, scammers became sophisticated, ICO became their breeding ground. And then their phishing emails, impersonations, lots of methods circulating around and even evolving like a virus. Who can't blame them? There are huge money involved in this market and lots of gullible person who easily persuaded with a promise of good returns. Scammers know the psychology so its really up to us, to be very careful there's no difference between a $1 or $1 million, anyone doesn't want to lose money to those scammers.

Still the only person to blame for it the person who is taking the risk. Its their money, its their work and its their fault they played with their money. In this sense crypto would seem like gambling or like a speculative market trading. The SEC tried to control some ICOs but then the last decision vests on the shoulder of the investor. Just some words of advice through my experience: 1. Dont fall for huge returns promises. 2. Check the team members and the advisors if they exist or not. Try to talk to the advisors if they are really involved or not. 3. Read the whitepaper. If you could analyse the market condition of whether the project seems feasible or not that would be even better but most of us cant do that.

To mention, some of the projects that are out and those who are conducting their ICO with no real blockchain implications are just here to gather funds for their company or themselves going to be a SH*TCOIN in the future or a runaway scam.

I remember, last year when bitcoin is going up the number of bounty hunters doubled as well as the number of bounties. Most bounties are to end at the month of November. I joined a campaign and when the month of November come, there's issue arise the "November Scams".

I guess we can't really avoid that, especially since the market is doing well in terms of raking in big money. It's a high-risk-high-reward type of market, and it could bring big success through profits if you choose the best coins or projects to invest in. Therefore, that new light of success would surely interest those people who have shady characters and are only in the market to find the opportunity and chance to take advantage of others. For example, how airdrops have been very notorious with these scams of stealing information from people who enroll in them, only to find out that they are not legit airdrops projects.

Scammers now are everywhere hunting noobs people just to fall their traps, very well known that very risk when you fill up their form and clicking the link of that airdrop given to claim reward but they give a phishing site. I was encountered on that situation before when I was clicking the link I know that is a phishing site. They now totally increase when they know that the ICO projects are very profitable when it comes to investments or being bounty hunters. So, we much do research first before engaging in any project that has a promise that having a big ROI. We can avoid these possible scams if we knowledgeable and not easy to fool.

Scammers or scamming is not quite new in this generation, we just don't notice them lurking in the dark side of the internet waiting for their prey. If you been scammed already for so many times, you could easily know if a certain social media campaign or ICO is a scam or not, still, there are ICOs that seems legit in the start but turned out to be a scam at the end, being careful is necessary to avoid such thing to happen. They are scamming people for easy money, instead of giving the promised allocated bounty to all of the bounty hunters who joined their bounty, they run the funds and celebrate their wrong deeds.

All ICO projects can be invested after we take the risk and jump into it right away. There is no other way in the world where you can identify and say that this is the legit project. And it doesnt work like that, you still have to work hard for it and keep yourself updated with the team all the time. And yes scam is everywhere. So just be updated and take precautions against such scam/scammers.

The quality is dropping significantly though. Back in the day crypto was so filled with scammers that I am guessing over 300-400 thousand bitcoins have been stolen from people by scams like mtgox and cryptsy and hashflare and similar other stuff, those people got sued however no matter how much they got sued in the end those bitcoins are gone, those are billion dollar losses. Thankfully even tho there are people who make phishing websites or asks you to invest or whatever type of scam they are doing, the number increased but the amount of btc scammed everyday in crypto is dropping because quality of scammers are dropping as well.

Nowadays many ICO projects scam, it can be said that we can not analyze the project is not good quality and the project is deceptive, in my opinion should not invest risky but be careful before invest
Pick good ICO for now is very hard, not like in past when ICO success in their sale, success too in market and investor get profit. Because of some investors stuck in ICO that not success, it affected for ICOs nowadays.

There has always been phishing links, from emails, adverts, name them and it is only left for each individual to try as much as possible to get equipped with the knowledge on how to be vigilant based on some of these things and how they should keep their accounts secured if they do not want to end up being a victim. Hackers and scammers have always tried to find different means of stealing from people right from the onset, and you only have a part to play as a person to be able to rid such. In ico's i dont know exactly where they gonna use the funds of the investors who buy there tokens. Because if we dont meet the ico's softcap raised they are being scam and dont pay back our money who help to improve there project.
Help to improve project in what way? Bounty? If the ICO does not end up successful, then it is normal for any bounty hunter not to receive payment for the job they have done which is one of the risk of bounty hunting anyway, and it can only become a scam if they ended up not refunding the investors’ money back to them. What is imperative is for you to at least try as much as possible to know how to identify scams by doing the needful research if you do not want to be a victim.

That's why you need to be more selective for what project do you invest. Remember cryptocurrency is high risk high reward activity so make sure that you have prepare to loss and consider profit as the bonus.
Scammer is just like criminal that looking for the profit !
With every new bug being spotted in the cyber security of the technology you choose, the security is further tightened. For example Bitcoin is very secure because of the blockchain technology. But scamming is not something new in the market. It has been there since the start and even still the technology is operating with people investing in different projects and holding them for long. The probability of hacking a wallet having coins is very low, almost less than 0.1% in case of blockchain technology.

This is what I am always thinking on every step that I made especially in the exchanges because I have a terrible experience in the trades that made me lose my money. Besides that, I have another bad experience in the cloud mining service in my first time to know cryptocurrency, and now, I don't believe with any of cloud mining because I cannot make any profit with them. I prefer mining in my home or doing trading because I can control the process and I can see how much I can make.

Right. And i think this is the only reason many people have suffered immensely. Investing is a project with no potential on its back and with zero probability of profitability is very risky. There are tricks and steps following which you might be able to evaluate a project and decide whether or not to invest. The investment risk is the first. See if there is risk in investing in the said project. Liquidity and general acceptability also gives you an insight into the status of the project. Check out the security features as well. The more the investment secure, the less the chances to loose.

Dont’t believe easily if its too good to be true. Because of the increased popularity of cryptocurrency scammers finds this market more attractive, but we must not be scared to them we should focus on securing our wallet and don’t trust anyone. There’s a scammers everywhere, its hard to stop them but hopefully we will not become a victim of those scams.

Exactly! There is no scammers if people will be able to become confident enough with what they are doing, if people will become intelligent enough, many people are really taking advantage for now that is why extra careful here is a good thing so that we will not become victim of people who wants to scam rather than working on their own hand.

They are very good in deceiving people and gullible users are easily attracted by high roi, overwhelming promises and get-rich-quick scheme. Phishing sites are also one of the most used techniques in getting vital info from those unknowingly users. Sometimes, you just want to be off-grid so no one can ever try to hack your computer. You need to ask yourself, how secure your firewall is?

So its not new to us people that scammers will go to cryptocurrency because in this present moment crypto is booming and it will stay forever because it will bring change to society. Many people trick by scammers simply because scammers give them assurance that there is no risk you take if you invest to them even if every investment has no assurance and the risk is part of the investment. We are blinded by the assurance that our money will make more money even there are no risk on it.

I think the scam is not just happening in the cryptocurrency but also happen in many fields. as long as there are money involved, I think it will attract people to scam other people because they want to make money in a short way. there are the various way that they can use to scam people and we don't know if they are scammers or not and only with careful, we can anticipate their action. don't get attracted with the words saying the big potential income of one project because all the works that we did will need a process that we don't know how long it takes.
the most important factor to avoid fraud usually lies in oneself who really likes something that offers big profits, the way the fraudsters always offer big profits and low costs, so always be careful because there are no big results in this world without work , to avoid fraud always prioritizing security, do research first before stepping so we don't regret it in the future ...

Today many people are making some crimes like scamming because of the life they didn't want. Poverty for me is the main reason and of course athe attitude of being greedy. Many people triggered their negative side because of greediness. They intend to lure and scam other people because of money. They want to earn in a easy way so that they use scamming. The numbers of scammers as well as the ICO's that is not legit here in forum increase because of greediness. And I also think the price of the coin also affects so that people want to scam in order to have earnings.

Just being smart and careful is not enough, but at least it can minimize us from falling into fraud cases. Today's fraudsters are neat and systematic, they do their work in an organized manner. On the other hand, there are fraudsters who work with halfhearted intentions. For example, they deliberately made an ICO, but with an unpublished team, the very bad whitepaper content, even filled with very sickening infographic. Something like this is very funny.

You are right about the uprising of scams around cryptocurrencies but there's really nothing anyone can truly do to eradicate that. We can only shield ourselves against that by way of information. I have to admit that while it's easy to identify scams in Ponzi schemes and HYIPs, it is not that easy with ICOs. But in all, I believe that if a deal sounds too good to be true, then obviously it's a scam.

To mention, some of the projects that are out and those who are conducting their ICO with no real blockchain implications are just here to gather funds for their company or themselves going to be a SH*TCOIN in the future or a runaway scam.
You know scammers are everywhere in the market of cryptocurrency but also in the traditional markets you will also be scammed if you are not aware of things. So all this depends upon you if these things are known to you then you always go for safer things like highly rated by people then there will be no chances of scammers. Social media is also filled with scammers and internet sites are also so be careful and consider it important for a better result.

In ico's i dont know exactly where they gonna use the funds of the investors who buy there tokens. Because if we dont meet the ico's softcap raised they are being scam and dont pay back our money who help to improve there project.
In my opinion, one should always have a business model ready before investing the money. IN the feasibility report, you cover all the pain points that could be countered so it is a must to do thing before you put in your money in some so called famous ICO. We assume the individual to be rational who knows all about the market and about how secure the investment will be. Having said that, it is not an issue to bother. You can always escape the impotent ICO by doing your own market research.

Yes, scammers are every where but there are more scammers in cryptocurreny mainly because they are taking advantage of the unregulated market and there are still so many investors who would invest in a project that has a possibility of being scam and even if there are already red flag to that project, many of them are still considering it. Maybe this year, other scammers are lying low because ICOs are not that successful due to bear market and many of them will appear again when the market gets better.

Regardless of whether you are professionally engaged in crypto currency or just trying to enter this path, I recommend that you keep track of information on fresh exposures and, in general, about major fraud in this area as often as possible.

Scammers know how to enter into people's trust in a variety of ways. Some are so cunning that they manage to send fake IDs or cover themselves with the name and appearance of other people, often for these purposes the image of one of the specialists known in the bitcoin community is taken.

One way to eliminate a scammer is to close all access to the scammer in action. for me personal knowledge and coming from myself are the main capital, because when everyone has knowledge and experience they will be protected from all things fraud. scammers cannot be removed, but that the scammer can be minimized.

Anyone could be easily fooled by those scammers out there if they are not yet familiar on how this world works. There is a lot of things an individual should experience first before he could stand up on his feet and dump those scammers. Money is the key on every scamming scheme that is happening nowadays, scam ICOs and even those people who are enjoying scamming naïve people. They are saying that they are going to give a big amount of rewards if we are going to do the tasks that they would say. Since it is a great deal, we would bite the bait that we didn't know that it is a bait, after that, they will manipulate us and they are going to do everything just to make us believe their story, and at the end, they will leave without any notice will all of the money they have raised.

No wonder - fraudulent schemes in the crypto industry are not news at all. Many of them were used long before the appearance of virtual currencies and, apparently, will live for a very long time. You just need to learn to recognize the scum and observe the technique of financial security.

normally there are so many people that wanted to earn in a very easy way in way of scamming and now they are really increasing. But I believe that there will be no scammer if we take good to our profit. We are the one who are responsible for our earning or maybe savings we need to take good care and be more vegelant on it to avoid scammers.

It is true, scammers are everywhere even before cryptocurrency exist. When there is money, expect scammer will come to the scene because they want a piece of it no matter the consequences will be. The best that we can do is protect our wealth and learned more ways for protection which are available on the net.

I agree that now more and more scamming are happening, the scammers now using more and more sophisticated way to scam, usually their target is the greedy people or the newbie people, more experience users always suggest to do a more thorough research before investing in anything, social media opinion also can't be trusted 100% because sometimes the scammers create a lot of accounts to give a good opinion about the project, the correct way is to asked in the forum and wait for a more reputable users to reply, or you can do a deep research to find its truth

Well you're right and its not surprising because many people nowadays are greedy to have an instant money without exerting effort even it means stealing the hard-earned money of other people. I think they are already immune to their wrong doings just for money.
We cant do anything to stop those scammers from growing however we can prevent ourselves to become their victim by gaining knowledge in everything that we do and be more careful especially if you already had bad experience in the past.

Because of the anonymity, its getting easier for scammers to scam and run away with tokens. There are hundreds of scammers on twitter and facebook who claim to be the officials from one or the other projects and claim that they will get you big discounts in ICO's. All of them are scammers.

If you are probably so noob in cryptocurrency, you are easily got drag by these different styles of scamming. As you've said, social media and mobile apps is an easy way to scam people. Especially when they are offering some parts of bitcoin. Unluckily, they were some who got trapped on these fraud people.
Let us just be wise before accepting these kinds of racket and swindle.

Scammers will not gone they are always there to scam the people. When it comes to money many people attract to do bad things instead to do a good thing. That's why we need to be vigilant in crypto world because scammers is everywhere wait to people they want to be their victim. In every market and In every industry they will always be a scammer. This is a big problem for investors. There are thousands of cryptos in the market and most of the new coins which are anonymous and not listed in exchange are scams. It is very difficult to know the scammers. Crypto is based on internet and that’s the big reason that it is not pursuable. Some people introduce new ICOs and when they receive no funds they ran away.

I actually think that we have decreased in numbers of scammers because crypto is decreasing in popularity right now! Many of good ICOs are not even reaching their soft cap so there are not a lot of investors left to be scammed! When market recovers and prices go up again they will be back also!

Can't avoid this and i think until cryptocurrency become popular the number of scammers are increasing And not only the scammers increasing also a vitctims of this bad ways of earnings And this have a bad effect for cryptocurrency reputation I advise to all people to avoid become a victim of scammers do not trust, olease investigate amd study the project before investing the project offers
All are true but no one is perfect in the world. So we must protect ourself and do not blame other peoples. In current scenario peoples are earning bad way but many bounty campaign also cheating so no one is truly survive in the crypto platform. It is not like that, all people are not true now we are discussing crypto world then I will talk regarding it and things happen in it. Scammers are more in numbers and they perform different activities and trap you inside their fake communications so you need to be well aware of these things. A lot happens on Facebook, you will meet unknown friends as they pretend they are real traders but they are actually fake.

Scammers are always increasing, and the worst of it all is that these scammers don’t only have one platform, only one person can create up to ten platforms and using it to scam hardworking people. If you calculate it, and let’s say we have about ten of them that are doing such, that means we will have about a thousand platforms that are owned by scammers. It is more than that, I just have an example. So you just have to do your best and avoid them as much as you can.

With the advent of new ways of obtaining a relatively fast profit there are also scammers who are always where the big money is poorly protected. Each investor himself affects his result. If he has poorly studied the project in which he invested, or did not take care of protecting his wallet, as a result of which he lost all or part of his money, then he will have a lesson and experience for which he paid.

Of course, you should not believe such "representatives". And anyway, if it's about money, then no one can be trusted. Be sure to check all the information through the official channels of communication or on your own in the Internet. Scammers take advantage of the insecurity and laziness of newcomers, who often themselves are to blame for being deceived. Newcomers! I want to appeal to you. Now spend your time on self-study trading in the crypto market. Read how to avoid cheating. And never trust your money to anyone. Any purchase and sale should be exclusively your choice after analyzing the overall market situation and currency.

3 years ago there's a lot of scam sites out there that promised to double your money, that was 3 years ago and its easy money for the scammers taking advantage of those who are not familiar with Bitcoin yet. Nowadays they are taking advantage of those who are not familiar with ICO's that's why they switched to ICOs. People think ICOs can make them rich over night.

I think it's not only in crypto but in the internet area it's very vulnrable to commit fraud and robbery, so I would really ask you to be more careful about any threats that you might get such as phishing sites, ponzi, fraud / scams, hacking and so on, secure your wallet well and don't be fooled by the criminals

This scammers are generally all those who starts a new ICO. Majority of them is considered to be a scam sort because they will get the funding form the investors but their coin will either not get listed or will fall drastically in some time only on listing and they will sell their position and get exit.

Yeah you are right; scammers are everywhere in the world and in every field of life. Recently in my country some people took billions of dollars from innocent people and told them that they would give them 4% profit on their investment. Just 3 to 4 months they give money to investors from their own money and they disappear from the market. The case is still in the court, but the scammers have pushed that money to other country.

Scammers are every where. They try to take every opportunity to scam people and make easy money off them. It is your responsibility to keep yourself safe from them. The scammers usually leave some trails that can easily be traced. You have to find those trails and spot those scammers out. Like you said, they use bots to increase their visibility in facebook or twitter. Detecting a bot is quite easy. Again, if they are offering something too good, then there is obviously something fishy. You should just stay away from it.

Scamming had always existed long before the Advent of cryptocurrency. Cryptosphere arrival only created another platform to would-be scammers to continue the act, so this is nothing new other than people have to be less greedy and more careful not to get scammed.
Yeah! that's right. Scamming is an old business that existed before any of us were born. But the OP is definitely right about us trying to perform proper assessment before joining any projects. Also, I believe that in the future as government regulations grow in crypto the rise of scam in crypto will come down.

Not a new thing, but it will always be comparable to the addition of crypto enthusiasts, not only in ICO also on websites that prepare investments with the promise of more profits. It will happen sooner or later, but if you have time for wd before, then you are lucky
This scammers are generally all those who starts a new ICO. Majority of them is considered to be a scam sort because they will get the funding form the investors but their coin will either not get listed or will fall drastically in some time only on listing and they will sell their position and get exit. You are right; this makes the investor too afraid to invest their money in the ICO projects because they see that many ICO is scam the other. They will stop investing in ICO, and they will search for the other way to invest, and maybe they will stick on the crypto which has a lot of coins that can give profit to them. Day by day, the scammers still increase without we can know, so we need to be careful for this and I hope that this scammer can get something bad, especially for their life.

No wonder - fraudulent schemes in the crypto industry are not news at all. Many of them were used long before the appearance of virtual currencies and, apparently, will live for a very long time. You just need to learn to recognize the scum and observe the technique of financial security.
It is true, scammers are everywhere even before cryptocurrency exist. When there is money, expect scammer will come to the scene because they want a piece of it no matter the consequences will be. The best that we can do is protect our wealth and learned more ways for protection which are available on the net. This is the big problem in crypto market. Everyone wants to make money on illegal ways. They announce fake ICO, collect funds and ran away. It is hard to know the project authentication. I never believe in such ICOs. I always invest my money in big and reliable coins and which are also listed in exchange. I don’t have enough money to try new experiences.

I disagree, as you have said scammers have been here prior to crypto so for me they will always find a way to scam whether there's regulations or not. Besides if you're going to look at how they works, its like they're always one step ahead of the game. They know the psychology of people and they take advantage of it. So just stay safe and " if it seems too good to be true it probably is", just remember that.

Scammers are not easy to defeat so we as a cryptocurrency members aren the one to be more careful in choosing a good project or ICO because scammers will do their best to outwit people just for money. Be observant and think many times before joining any projects.

Not a new stuff and actually not a surprising thing and this is not only existing on crypto market alone yet online scams been existing on the very first place which if theres money involved then there would be always those criminal minds to make such thing to get money on the easiest possible way which is thru scamming or swindling and all sorts. Scam do actually continue to exist yet there are still people who do keeps of feeding em up which means our experience and knowledge to these things will surely make these numbers decline.

We want the Far West? We get the Far West. There is no free lunch in this world. Freedom isn't free. The freedom we enjoy in crypto is the same that criminals use to predate victims. We will have to live with that until the day we will decide that the Far West is not for us and we'll give up our freedom to the usual suspects.

This is a market full of sin and deceit. You can not avoid it but your wages will be high. You do not need a college degree or need too much experience. You just need to understand about blockchain technology, you will have a lot of money. That is strengths and weaknesses.

how can you possibly earn a higher wage if you will always been scammed ? scammers ,hackers , fraudsters , and any other illegal activities , etc .. they are the root of all evil in any kinds of market . they will limit our possibilities to earn a huge income if we will fall on their trap . sure you dont need to have a blockchain course or a crypto course in order for you to understand on how cryptocurrency works but you need to equip your self with a good knowledge in order to combat the criminals and bad people around you ..

Scammers have always existed in the crypto-currency field. But with the rise of the ICOs, the frequency has increased by manifold. We need to take adequate precautions, as there is hardly any other option.

You are right, This year, A lot of scammers, fudders, spammers has come in the crypto field. They are always trying to scam someone's money! Especially in the telegram, You can see how many scammers are active to scam your money. If you post in an ICO related group that I want to invest, how to do it! After some time, you will receive tremendous messages about manual investing in ICO. They will ask your email address and then they will give you a manual address to send ETH to participate in ICOs with 40% discount. I always make them fool, I asked in the group that I want to invest, help me. Scammers message me to invest in manual, I report their profile! In twitter, Someone may message you to invest a good ICO, they will give you a site, if you ignore them, they will say this is not a referral link, you can trust this and blah blah blah! So, we have to be cleverer than scammers to be safe from the steal of money.

Schemes that are fraudulent have never been news even before crypto came into existence and I wonder why a lot of you always make it all about cryptocurrency. There has always been different sort of scams in the past and the fact that a lot of people have fallen for it. Do you want to start with Ponzi schemes, or some sites trying to offer what at the end of the day they run with people's funds. It is not news, it has been happening and it will keep happening. It is only left for each individual to not get greedy and always try to stay informed about certain things before even deciding to join any platform which is one advantage I believe the internet age has brought when it comes to reviews.

Regardless of whether you are professionally engaged in crypto currency or just trying to enter this path, I recommend that you keep track of information on fresh exposures and, in general, about major fraud in this area as often as possible.
Well, fraudulent activities will always be detected as long as you are vigilant in any space you find yourself. The thing with people is that they are always too lazy to look beyond what they are seeing in the open and then try as much as possible to dig further so that they can know if they are on the right track or if they are not. Scammers will always be on the lose as long as they know they will always find scape goats, so it is left for you as an individual to know how not to be one.

It is undeniable that with the increasing popularity of crypto and its widespread and profitable development, there must be many people who have bad thoughts to take advantage of all this.
because many people only know about crypto when the value of coins increases very high, they want to be directly involved in it to be able to get big profits in an instant way and at that time many people used this opportunity to commit fraud and make fraudulent projects to deceive victims who wanted to get wealth quickly.

Having that knowledge will give you a good chance not being harmed by those scammers, understanding and learning how they work is the best way to anticipate their actions, people who are very furious about those scum businesses around always find proper actions in order to avoid being victimized better to be well prepared as scammers always updates their strategy and always go with the flow we need to be very wise to notice them. It is not only cryptocurrency market but in every field of life we see scammers and frauds. Some mentally ill people choose a way to loot innocent people and announce such benefits that attract people to put their money with them and when they realize that it is enough, they disappear from the market. Nobody take responsibility for such scams and to get back looted money.

Cryptocurrency is getting people, more gullible and ignorant people about security who are not ready to really learn are entering the market, and it is more like the schemers seeing a potential market for their scams and fraudulent activities. There have always been scammers since inception and it is not something new at all. before internet, we have seen people being duped for one reasons or the other out of greed most times, and then internet came, and scamming goes digital and now that we are getting to have digital money, it even makes it so easy to target the gullible and greedy ones most of the time.

All they want is the money and in majority cases, they are able to hack and cash out the millions but this is the case with only those technologies with low security. As for as Bitcoin or ETH is concerned, the Blockchain is greatly secured against any such attack and this is the reason why people still trust these technologies. Moreover, they constantly grow in size adding additional security and advancement in the system makes it more impossible for the cyber agents to hack it.

Yes there are number of scammers increasing day by day so we must careful to invest in ICO or dealing trade with strangers. It is possible to detect or avoid the scammers if want to invest in ICO must read white papers and ask details from support you will realize here either project is real or scam.Be careful to invest all at same time must take pause and take look on road map either going on according to plan or not then take decision accordingly.
For beginners, it can be difficult to determine the Scam from a good project. Whole chats sit and discuss how to invest in Frank Scam. They need to help and tell how to distinguish. Do the guys from Icodrops, for example. Not just for newbies, sometimes scam projects are so real that they can even deceive the old ones. When you invest, you need to do more detailed research. You should pay attention every detail of the project. Absolutely! It is! Alas, the market is wild, and scammers come up with new methods and do everything very much like the truth

Someone promise to sell air and people come and buy it, later they blame scammers, other people, bad projects cause they bought air. Who is scamming whom here? Be careful when you are crossing the street, be extra careful when you give your money for anything, be extremely careful when you are investing bigger amounts. I hate when people blame others for their own mistake, who ever fall for something and gave money for nothing is the one for blaming, next time think before you do anything.

I actually think that we have decreased in numbers of scammers because crypto is decreasing in popularity right now! Many of good ICOs are not even reaching their soft cap so there are not a lot of investors left to be scammed! When market recovers and prices go up again they will be back also!
It is negative not only in the crypto world or specifically in the Bitcoin trading but also in the fiat currency so we should neglect this point from center. Scammers are everywhere and the only way to control them is what our governments do. This will not affect Bitcoin or any other crypto coin as long as you use the major and highly rated tools for your trading like best exchange that is Binance and few more along with safety of your passwords etc.

Scammers are everywhere and not only in crypto. Most of the things you see online today are completely scam and if you’re not very careful you will fall for it. The worst part is that these scammers are making it difficult for us to tell which ones are legit or not. So these days you just have to be careful and avoid them as much as you can. There are lots of ways you can avoid them, especially ICO that are scam.

How would you define a scammer? I know a lot of situations when a company is publicly accused of being a scam just because a user is wrong. On the other hand I agree scammers are all around, and we need to be careful.

Scammers are everywhere even before. If they see an oppurtunity to have money. They will do everything they can to take advantage to the mistakes of other people here.
Yes scammers are the people whose only and sole purpose is to outwit the inexperienced investors and deprive them of their initial investment and only then they learn the lesson to invest carefully by doing the crypto currency evaluation. We can easily avoid getting scammed if we act rationally and invest only in the cryptocurrency that is top in the market with good profit giving abilities and great probability of growing over time. And I think it is much more advantageous to invest in crypto than scamming if we do the cost benefit analysis.

Such people exist because they know that in digital world they can be anonymous and they can easily avoid the authority. The best thing we can do to avoid these scammers is to carefully analyze everything we are going to invest and look for legality of it's purpose.

Scammer is just like criminal that looking for the profit !

No wonder - fraudulent schemes in the crypto industry are not news at all. Many of them were used long before the appearance of virtual currencies and, apparently, will live for a very long time. You just need to learn to recognize the scum and observe the technique of financial security.
Scammers are all over the world almost in every field of life. Scams are now builten with cryptocurrency. We should be careful while investing our money in some specific project. We should search for the credibility of a project, its management and launchers. It is much better not to invest in new ICOs. By this way we will avoid scam projects.

Scammer are always around us and already existed for a long time. Nowadays, there are a lot of ICO projects, people tend to scam others to earn money. As long as people can make money with scam, scammers will increase sharply over years. I think we never can stop scam, we only can be careful, search more before invest.

yes you are right for now it seems like there are a lot of scam projects, you should be careful to choose an ico project and make sure you have the skills to analyze from the team first make sure the team is genuine and really can be contacted and state that they did make an ICO .
I always look the exchange position of a project. I never invest in those currencies which are not listed in exchange, because most of such coins are fraud and will disappear from the market after collecting huge funds. I always invest in reliable coins like bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple etc. these are the best cryptos in the world and are guaranteed and my money is safe here.

A lot of people have a huge role to play when it comes to getting scammed as far as I am concerned and they are just a victim of their own gullible state. Knowledge most especially is what a lot of people always run away from and how do you want to thrive in an environment without the knowledge of that environment. I do not see how that can be possible. What is most important is to know what to do to always be able to identify a scam from real projects. Like you said, there are real projects there but as a person what are you doing and what knowledge do you have to be able to identify them. I have been investing in ICOs, and even though they are not much, I know they are quality projects with products and good team, which is what, is important. Once you focus on that, you cannot miss it.

Indeed, the problem of fraud is so familiar in this market. But I think more and more projects are better but less potential. Fraudulent schemes were less likely because they could not attract more capital when they hid their members' information. We have more experience but we still need to be aware of projects without information about the project team.

Investors especially new one has lost significant amount of coins and fund in investing into icos projects that turned to be scam. Most of them are now afriad to invest into cryptocurrencies market.

It makes some projects aren't be able to reach their soft-spoken just because there is no potentials have seen from the investors around. It goes into scam cause the team never give back the money they collected from the people who are investing. But if they turn it back, then there is no problem at all.

I dont think the number of scams is increasing. When the market goes down, many investors have withdrawn from the market, the scammers also cant make much money in the market should also leave the market. Besides, the trick to knowing a phishing project is very easy. I think there are now fewer phishing projects.

I think scammers is everywhere, it can't be resolve I think. Then, since the number of scammers increased maybe it happened because many communities whether in Facebook, Twitter or Bitcoin/crypto industry, they became unaware or unprepared or sometimes because of greediness it leads us to become a victim of scammers which we didn't notice in the end.

Scammers mostly target people that had no knowledge on cryptocurrencies and other online investments. In social media alone, many scammers who uses cryptocurrencies like bitcoin had successfully scammed a lot of users and making the top coin unpopular to many netizens. Today, scammers are using the coming season to scam more people with their quick-rich schemes.

How would you define a scammer? I know a lot of situations when a company is publicly accused of being a scam just because a user is wrong. On the other hand I agree scammers are all around, and we need to be careful.
Time is very precious and I feel no time should be wasted to move around and spot the scammers. We should rather choose to work on our own business models to maximize our own utility that should be the only motto behind entry in the crypto market. Stay vigilant and research for as long as six month and this time is enough for any individual to master the skills and understanding needed in any field. The rest is matter of action and a long as you do not take practical steps, you might not make money. Scam is not just applicable to the crypto world alone and I wonder why people tend to say that a lot. Scam has always been in existence since transactions are being made online, and since people started getting greedy looking for quick ways to earn huge money within a very short period. Scam is everywhere even outside crypto and the only way you can keep yourself secured is to always be on the lookout, know where you want to be putting your money, know what is too good to be true and stay away from it. There are so many projects out there that are good, so being scammed should not be an option.

Scammers were and will always be. There are a lot of them in the crypto-currency market, because this market is very risky and it is not controlled by anyone. Therefore, it is very easy to carry out fraudulent actions and go unpunished.

There is no place you wouldn’t see scammers, they have been scamming even before anyone thought of cryptocurrencies. But for the fact that cryptocurrency is now their next target, everyone really needs to be careful on who or what they are investing their money into these days. Just like op was saying – we better learn from other people’s mistakes than to fall victims for the same traps. Before you do anything, carry out tough research, it’s always worth it cause it’s your money that we are talking about here. And stop clicking on any advert you see.

maybe the analysis of these fraudsters is correct but if you realize it now there are so many ICOs that are scam, so i understand for sure you want to warn traders to be able to avoid and be alert and must be able to see or find the correct information first to ensure this ICO has the right team or scam as one of the ways is to try to find the office of the ICO and try to come to the place and make sure the team stays at their office location. after that you can provide information about your investigation at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=227.0 or https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0.

I've met (not literally) some scammers out there and they're really so intelligent upon arriving to a technique wherein they can persuade or deceive someone. But as what I always think, never ever put your trust to any one you are not sure of or to something you're in doubt.

Such people exist because they know that in digital world they can be anonymous and they can easily avoid the authority. The best thing we can do to avoid these scammers is to carefully analyze everything we are going to invest and look for legality of it's purpose. that's right sir, so much scammers make the amount of investors decreasing because investors have negative thinking about crypto, it will make the market still downfall

They offer "so good to be true" investment returns so that is already questionable. Although they can still victim newbies. I guess that should be our target. Make more people be opened to this kind scammers so that it will not be new to them when offered. It is a good bait and looks inviting but when they have the idea already then it will somehow make them doubt it.

Along with it, organizations and scam groups appear to be very sophisticated, making it very difficult for us to identify and make promises. This situation continues to be very dangerous for ICOS operations that are easy to bankrupt.

As the cryptocurrency market grows stronger and the value of crypto is higher, this is a good place for scammers to work. Because cryptocurrency is characterized by security and anonymity, so when fraud and theft occur, it is very difficult to handle. So every investor should equip themselves with knowledge to protect their assets in this market.

Scamming on digital world is not a big deal at all since it is huge world with anonymity to everyone. But the increased number of scam ICOs are very alarming now, many have said that 2018 is not an ideal year for ICO which i think a quite wrong? maybe we're just being flashed with big scammed ICOs we thought we jumped in but a trash in the end. There is a lot of great ICO this year, what they are lack of is validation from their users and bounty hunter. The real problem here is we are just running crypto and ICO for money.

Unfortunately, scam can not be defeated. It has long existed in different fields. So it's hard to fight on the crypto market if no other solutions have been found. It is sad that many beginners or less informed people become the victims of these individuals. In the future, however, there should be more involvement on the part of all for the detection and removal of SCAM projects.

This is another way to earn money for those who are expert in coding and decoding. They are capable of spotting bugs in the websites that has the wallets of those who have invested in crypto currencies. This might be any virtual trading site that holds the important information. This can even be your bank account information and can get hacked which enables the hackers to control your accounts and could be used for many purposes. However all the companies keep it their first priority to strengthen their system and make a secure ecosystem for the users.

Bitcoin is the most secure crypto coin and it takes care of users privacy and data but if it is possible only if user also take care of its privacy that is password and other information. Besides all these things we see some hackers as well as scammers activities which is due sharp hackers and even sharp hackers can attack on weak chains here is the crypto market. Furthermore, about scammers there are more scammers in fiat currency than the crypto currency so this thing is not exist only in the crypto market but have approach to other sources as well.

In my view before enlisting and pricing a new ICO in exchange nobody should put money in that and that the exchange that takes this new ICO should be responsible for any upsets. If this thing takes place and the crypto exchangers take serious steps about this thing, scams may be reduced. Otherwise there is no possibility for stopping these scammers.

Yeah when criminal minded people know that people are now investing their money in digital currency they also announced some fake projects which were totally baseless and there is nothing behind those projects. They collected millions of dollars from innocent people and ran away. The problem is that you cannot claim your lost money and that’s the reason that these scammers are increasing day by day.

I am particularly worried about Scam ICO's, a lot of fund is raised and at the end they fizzle away, I really wish ICO's generally will be banned such that coins that want to launch can go via other market terms and spend real money to get into the market just like what hydro and cyberfm did

It's so alarming the rate at which scam increase on the space, this happens because crypto is a decentralized system and it is unregulated so hacker and scammers find it to be a good place to carry out their scam activities because they will go free, imagine someone stealing your coin from your wallet and move it to another wallet, you can only see the coin but won't do anything. it's painful that's more reason everyone has to be very careful.

In everything about business, you see the scammers also. They take advantage of genuine investors and as the market increase, the scammers introduce their families and friends into it and the it boom.
but what I also want to ask, why are they so hearty to deceive others for their own sake, do they not feel what it feels like to be a victim of scamming, though, since the bitcoin mining era, HYIP investments and promising websites get fast bitcoin, these actors never detected. this is also confusing

Bank accounts are more trustable than crypto wallets because bank is responsible for any lose but n crypto nobody takes responsibility.

So when entering the cryptographic market, the first thing we should do is to learn how secure, secure security will help us have more opportunities, so I think we should be more secure. Class. Such property will not be lost if the scammers want to take over.

Yeah you are right and like hackers, scammers are also a big problem for new investors. When an investor is being scams, he would never believe in crypto for the rest of his life and will also tell other that cryptocurrency investment is totally fraud and this is also a Ponzi scheme like so many others. Although he is not right by doing this but it is a fact.

Wallet passkey and other information if a scammer or hacker gets then do not think that I have any coin or not. Furthermore, there are many fake sites available on internet and we should understand the difference between sites or exchanges in order to keep distance from scammers and to stick with real places.

Yep. Since the cryptocurrency is making its name in the world. Of course it is natural that many scammers will be gone scamming people. It's pretty natural.
Yeah it is the responsibility of the company to strengthen the security system because it is matter of money and if someone is scammed or his account has been hacked, he would be destroyed and will lose his heard earn money in seconds. Bank accounts are more trustable than crypto wallets because bank is responsible for any lose but n crypto nobody takes responsibility. That is the function of centralization, if a third party makes a mistake like conceding a system because of hacking, they will be responsible because of that, but centralization is full of rules and limits, while decentralization is all responsibility is on yours but there are no rules. so I always make my wallet secure as good as possible, like adding 2fa

Scammers are everywhere not just in crypto verse. The problem is that there are so many ignorant investors who are easily persuaded by scammers and don't know how to protect their account as well. So we can tell tell time and again to be careful but they still fall for the trap. Just because they see how amount of returns making them forgot all our advises and their decision is very clouded.

People looking for quick rich schemes are most common prays of scammers giving high return in a short time thr pump and dump schemes, be careful while subscribing to such schemes. Fake ICOs are the worst scams these days, its very difficult to find out which project will turn out a scam as initially their whitepaper and website looks so promising. I came accross one ICO which was initially looking a good project, they run bounty campaigns in 3 different stages and in the last they closed down everything. I think there should be some regulations before launching of an ICO.

True, scammers will always exist anywhere anytime especially in this online world. We just need to be smarter and more careful in everything we are going to do. We responsible for ourselves, and we should never blame others just in case we are getting scammed.

Of course this is inevitable as bitcoin and digital currencies get popular the volume of people will dramatically increase especially when blockchain technology is pretty popular amongst centralized banks and institutional investors therefore promoting crypto currencies even more and this will attract scammers.

quality will come and scammers will be hampered by some complicated regulations in terms of promotion. especially on social media. the worst thing this year is when all fraudulent investments appear using crypto as a media transaction. and smart contracts make it easier for them to convince potential investors, last year was not as bad as this and I believe quality will continue to grow to eliminate all of this.

We responsible for ourselves, and we should never blame others just in case we are getting scammed. This is an example of how risky it is when it comes to crypto business especially if you are an investor. I always think that no matter how an investor be smart, there is always a chance that the project could be scam or go down in the end. There are cases that projects can be eventually identified as scam in the start but there are also times when projects are nearly-ending before it became scam. And the worst of all is when a project had finished already, all posts counted, stakes identified, and then something bad happened.

well, that's natural considering the rapid project for cryptocurrency to develop. so, so many scammers appear. because of that we have to be careful in investing, because sometimes, without information, and strong evidence, sometimes a project is easily a scam.

a lot of money can be generated from your work in participating in the campaign. therefore many scammers thirst for income from this crypto currency so they do everything they can to get as much money as possible, including being a scammer. but with some new rules, from the forum, from BM or even from DEV, the three can limit the movement of the scammer that is getting crazy

Almost unavailable, many people advantage, but this is not happen to crypto. The ease and anonymous nature of crypto payment made these malicious activities become so easy to setup.
Most peeps still think bitcoin itself is the ponzi.

Some of the Facebook groups that were excellent in terms of trading discussions now turned into scam marketing sites. right, we just have to be reasonable. if we can not defince what ICO is scam or not 100% then we definitely can understand what guy contacts us in telegram, forum, etc. just be adequate and reasonable

What do we need to do now is to support the STO stage of the projects to avoid soft-capitalization and will make the project even bigger.
