Will Ethereum fail if Vitalik dies?

Vitalik, judging by the latest news, has already stated that he is preparing to leave his project. News of his departure will do more harm than news of his death. If it goes off the Ethereum, the network may well react with a sharp drop, if it did not become quite that there would be a big increase.

However Im sure that if ethereum still alive, there's still hope. The point of being decentralized is that it will not rely on individual or instituiton, ethereum is owned by community. Maybe vitalik leaving is a bad news and could potentially affect everyone involved to ethereum
but however it's hardly bring down ethereum to the point where it will have zero value.

Vitaly is the founder of Ethereum and is the owner of a large number of coins. His departure from the project or his death will certainly have a negative effect on Ethereum. You can remember what happened with the death of Steve Jobs and Apple, as well as the departure of Elon Musk from the post of chairman of the board of directors had a negative effect on Tesla's stock price.
However, Ethereum is a fairly developed system and I think that it will not die having lost its founder. The price will fall, but not to 0.

Ethereum will die if Vitalik is dead or alive, the blockchain is full of scammy fake ICOs and the transaction speed makes it unusable in business. Take a look at a real project like NEO which will surpass ethereum one day, or even something like QTUM which is looking at 50k tps

I don’t think something will happen to ETH. He is not alone in the project. There is a whole team that improves and works on the project.

Nothing generally will happen and apparently we will just see the projects kicking up further with the other developers on board. We do not even know the whereabouts’ of Satoshi, and here we are still clamoring on the usage of bitcoin with development going on further and for what it is worth, so many people have died in the past like Steve Jobs, and the company is still thriving till date.

Ethereum will not be affected in anyway and may be the only thing that will be affected is Vitalik's HODL stash if no one have access to it apart from itself, and even at that, it would just make the circulating supply to eventually reduce.

If Vitalik dies ETH will fall down very hard for sure. But it doesn’t mean that the project will stop progressing. At the worst it can be bought by big companies like Microsoft.

Can not negate that Vitalik has the greatest merit in building EThereum as it is today. If Vitalik leaf out Ethereum project, I think this thing will has a little bad influent to Ethereum but it is still going to continue developing

Regardless Vitalik die or not, Eth will run as normal but the price will be doping a bit when Vitalik really die but soon after that the price will goes up.

Yes, Ethereum will not be affected in anyway. Ethereum is a project and Vitalik is not indispensable as anything can happen. It is more like saying when Steve Jobs dies, did Apple crumble? No, it did not and we still keep seeing apple in the same light as we have been seeing it. One thing is that the market will move on, Ethereum will move on as there are so many developers on board and we will only have a name to remember for Vitalik for coming up with some smart contract platform in the long run. At least, he is a unique figure in this space whether we like it or not.

I am able to understand your concern over being a centralized project. I just wonder about 1000s of other coins which are all being taken care of its one developer or group of developers but if something will happen to them, how it will move to next step. I had never thought in this perspective but now onward need to analyze on this matter more seriously.

They started selling shares and only because of their panic the price fell. Not because a man died, but because people panicked. The company continued to work further

Ethereum's price should not be based on a single person's life. I don't believe that the death of Vitalikvwill have an effect on Ethereum as majority of the hodler of it were scattered. We can't trust a coin if the price is based on a single investor. Crypto currency isn't made that way.

I really highly doubt it. We do not even know who satoshi is let alone if we know if he is still alive or dead and yet we still believe in bitcoin. Crypto space does not belong to anyone which is why we call it decentralized which means if god forbid anything happens to vitalik ethereum should not go down.

Now it is not exactly same with bitcoin because we never knew who satoshi was so the idea of bitcoin is to make sure it is not centralized and depending on one guy whereas ethereum always had vitalik and we know who he is and what he says makes a difference but I still think people will follow where money goes and not care about his health.
