Will Ethereum fail if Vitalik dies?

What do you think will happen with Ethereum if Vitalik Buterin's death is confirmed? Will the price crash and the project fail? Or would it continue to grow into infinity and beyond? I'm concerned about this, since previously, there were rumors about Vitalik's death which caused the price of Ethereum to fall drastically within the cryptocurrency market. Fortunately, Vitalik showed proof that he was alive, which calmed the downfall of Ethereum's price.

However, if Vitalik dies, many things could happen either good or bad. Perhaps, Ethereum may fall if Vitalik dies, because he's been leading the project every step of the way. By not having a leader, the Ethereum project will disorientate itself into oblivion, IMO. Nonetheless, what are your thoughts about this?

I think that Vitalik is not the only developer of Ethereum, therefore his death will not lead to the fall of such a strong and interesting project.

This is why I am very happy with the Anonymity of Satoshi Nakamoto. We are having this fears regarding Ethereum because we all know who the founder Vitalik Buterin. Maybe he too should have been anonymous from the beginning. His death may crash the Ethereum price completely to maybe even $0. Everyone may give up on the project, and move over to other blockchains.

That's the point. If Ethereum's founder would've been anonymous in the first place, then people in the mainstream world wouldn't pay much attention to him. However, since he's a public figure, all the eyes are in him, as anything he says could either benefit the Ethereum project or destroy it altogether. Of course, Ethereum is still a decentralized cryptocurrency project, but it could've been better without a leader whose identity has been exposed to the world. There's a feeling that once Vitalik dies, the price of Ethereum will fall to devastating lows.

As such, people will quickly panic, and mainstream media will spread FUD declaring the death of the Ethereum project. However, prices could start to rise again, once everything settles on the market. This may take some time though, as it's the norm once something bad happens in crypto land. For example, Bitcoin has been massively dumped across this year, and it still hasn't increased in price after quite some time. The same thing will happen with Ethereum once Vitalik dies, but in the end, the project will survive and emerge stronger than ever as a decentralized smart contract platform for the masses.

Nevertheless, while Vitalik is still alive, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my thoughts

From my point of view, nothing terrible exactly will happen, because today ETH looks very promising and even Vitalik says that he is no longer developing this project, I think this is already an indication that he will survive without Vitalik.

i do not understand why you make such a question because it is decentralised it  does not depend only on vitalik if it dies maybe in price there will be some ups and downs but it will recover itself for sure in a short time.

I believe many people will keep continue their work with ethereum, blockchain will support any financial instrument, so nothing too worry. Ethereum maybe fail but maybe only change name and become more successful than before. Ethereum only product and change name if fail is the option but not with blockchain.

If one developer of ethereum die even if it's vitalik, it will not affect the progress of developing etherum. Vitalik is not the only smart guy in developing ethereum.

No, because Vitalik  is not the only developer of Ethereum project, there are many other developers and if Vitalik leaves, they can continue developing Ethereum. This had happened to Bitcoin before, Satoshi Nakamoto was known as the main developer of Bitcoin but after he left the project, Bitcoin is still acting well.

Like any other project, ethereum is not a “one man team” project. I think Vitalik is only the face of the ethereum project but there is a strong team behind him. Well if the unfortunate happens, the team may lack his leadership but will definitely be able to hold the project up to standards especially with the help of the Whitepaper.

That's certainly true, mate. However, I'm afraid that if Vitalik dies, Ethereum's price will fall drastically to lows that were never seen since last year. As an investor, this concerns me a lot because mainstream media will spread FUD causing new Ethereum investors to panic sell their coins. Of course, without a doubt the Ethereum project will survive since it has the most talented developers in the world of Blockchain. However, events such as the death of Vitalik could cause a lot of FUD for quite some time across cryptocurrency exchanges.

Given that Ethereum has a proven development record ever since it launched back 3 years ago, it'll be quite impossible to take down. Perhaps, right after Vitalik dies, another leader would be placed by the Foundation itself. What matters is that Ethereum could survive as a cryptocurrency project with the purpose of delivering real use cases for the mainstream world. Only then, Ethereum could stand the test of time just like Bitcoin.

If Vitalk Buterin died, it would be impossible for ETH to stop working because someone else would take over the ETH technology. Only ETH's prices will be affected as investors will lose confidence in the crypto when Vitalk dies. So do not hesitate to invest in ETH.
