Will Ethereum fail if Vitalik dies?

I don't see any link between Vitalik death and Ethereum network, but cryptic people are still seeing Vitalik as the core heart of Ethereum and they will panic in case of death occurs.

There should be a team behind ethereum.... Vitalik is just the face and founder of ethereum, his death will definitely affect ethereum but It won't fail. The team will continue from there.

Vitalik is just the public face of Ethereum but there are a thousand people in the background who does the real work so if Vatalik were to die today, the project would not end but it would probably take a temporary hard hit but it would rally eventually.

I believe that if Vitalik's identity wouldn't have been public, it would've been better for the Ethereum project in many ways. By remaining anonymous, the project's growth could be ensured without any disruption in the future, as people wouldn't keep their eyes on the founder to determine the value of the project, etc. However, since Vitalik has chosen to disclose his identity to the public, it'll cause more harm than good for the Ethereum project at least in the time being. If Vitalik dies, the project might go on as intended, but its value will decline massively for quite some time.

In the mainstream world where there is huge influence on any entity in charge of a company or project, things could become messy for Ethereum once its founder is dead. However, in the bright side, Ethereum will remain as active as Bitcoin in the long term due to the large number of developers working on it. Perhaps, the Foundation will place someone in charge of the project itself. I am not sure that the state of the cryptocurrency depends on the state of its Creator. It seems to me that if the boy dies then only temporarily there will be some negative changes, and then everything will be cool

Exactly. Roger Ver has caused all this mess within the cryptocurrency market. Not only that, but Craig Wright has had an influence in it too. It's embarrassing to say the least, since cryptocurrencies were intended to remove the middleman after all. The same way BCH's hard fork affected everything, the same could happen with Ethereum if Vitalik dies. Everyone in the mainstream world associates Vitalik as the leader of the Ethereum project (although ETH is decentralized). If at any point in time, they receive the news of Vitalik's death, there will be massive FUD at least for the short term.

The most important thing is that Ethereum remains as resilient and secure as possible over the long term. Vitalik being the leader of the project, should not affect ETH's longevity in any way, since the smart contract platform is decentralized. There are people collectively working day and night to make the Ethereum blockchain one of the most reliable ones for daily transactions (just like Bitcoin).

Therefore, Ethereum might probably survive after Vitalik's death. However, if the impact is too deep (or the FUD is too much), then it'll take quite a while before ETH rises to its former glory. Just my opinion
