Your HODL motivation

In a few months, it would be ten years since the first transaction was made on the bitcoin blockchain by Satoshi Nakamoto (whoever he, she or they are). A decade down the road, bitcoin has grown in many aspects, adoption, value, circulation. And with just a couple of bitcoin yet to be mined, we are entering a new phase. And we might only have a few of the early adopters left in the bitcoin space, some bought a couple of pizzas and some cashed out during the series of pumps we have had over the years, some also panic sold during dumps.

What motivates you to Hodl?

Hodling or more conventionally put, long-term investment has always been a part of financial and commercial investments. And people were quick to identify the potential of profits in cryptocurrency due to the high volatility. And it was accepted it as a digital asset.

Hodling in such a space which is prone to wide sudden fluctuations is easier said than done. The emotional strain. One of my biggest motivation to Hodl is recognizing that bitcoin is not a pump and dump scheme, this for me is the most important motivation to hold. And you would be less bothered by intermittent value drops and rises.

If you are into bitcoin for the product and not profit, then you would be less interested in the profits and more interested in its increased adoption and application. Then you can view it as national currencies, which have value based on what it can purchase, but bitcoin has more applications as it is built on the blockchain technology.

Some can stay away from active participation, and it is possible to combine trading and hodling.

- A trader can also be a hodler. You have to set out your priorities and set aside a portion of your capital. If you're trading the same currency, (eg bitcoin), it would help to have a seperate wallet where you store you frozen assets and those available for trade.

Of course you should have disciplined yourself and learnt how to control your emotions and whims, otherwise you can't Hodl successfully.

What do you hope for the future?

This currency still has a long way to go, and of course we all look forward to a day where bitcoin would be an accepted global currency, that can be used to make purchases both online and offline. I lean more to online, as the world is going digital.

Increased adoption would also be helpful to governments and the citizenry, especially in developing countries, like Nigeria. And we are sure to discover other applications of the blockchain technology, as the qualities of transparency and decentralizatiom would be invaluable in those states.

What's your biggest fear?

Centralization. Bitcoin was created to be an alternative to the conventional banking sector. And to give it's users freedom and control, complete control. I fear a day where we would Los that control to governments and banks.
And I don't think global regulation is imperative for mass adoption.
The system was well designed to function without any control or supervision. And it's users need not to trust any human factor but the technology, the bitcoin technology.

for me, HOLD or not, it makes no difference at all, especially if the market conditions really crash, as long as getting profit, then sell, if you can't get HOLD but if you have the potential for deep crashes then selling at that time might be better.

Most people right now prefer on "Buy and Sell" instead of "Buy - Hold - Sell"

What motivates me to HODL my Bitcoins is the history of it and all the milestones Blockchain technology has reached and how far it can still go in the future developement.

Majority of my positions are long term holds, so though they may be down in profit I am looking ahead at long term potential.

Some of my other positions are just too far deep for me to bother selling right now.

I have faith in my positions and moved my capital into mainly platform coins.

I am always motivated by the price of bitcoin which often rises from year to year, some in the media say the price of bitcoin has fallen, but in my opinion this is the time to invest to get more profits. I continue to believe that the price of bitcoin will continue to increase every year because over time people will invest in bitcoin.

You are never alone. They are also doing the same as yours, holding until it reaches the time that price goes higher. Holding is a normal thing in trader, there is nothing to proud of.

hodl is not a good idea when you dont know much about the crypto asset you are holding .l prefer to trade than to hodl an asset. although if l must hodl then there much be a complete research about the project and the team who are involve in such project to find out their ability and inability to deliver such project before i can hodl such crypto asset. in all patience is the key to hodl

My motivation to hold a hold is that I want to get a better price for now than I have to panic sell, that's not a good thing for now. so I think hold remains the best choice.

hold for some people will feel this is useless, because the recovery of coins usually lasts a long time. but believe me if we are patient and wait for the price of a coin with a hold will definitely get a big profit. a lot of coins pumped 150% at the moment, and that makes people who don't hold and get sell panic feel disappointed.

Hodling motivation is affected by so many reasons, earlier this year most people who planned to hodl one coin or the other eventually sold it at a cheap price because they rely solely on it for living. The best motivation for holdling is when you have other source of income than crypto,it will allow you to expect less of instant yield or profit from crypto investment.

I only see the sophistication in every technology every year almost develops fast and well, I also think everything is made to do something slow that can be made easy and fast, for example in payments it may be in the future bitcoin will be a payment tool used by all people, so this is my motivation until now holding bitcoin

The reason why I am holding onto my AML BitCoins is that regulations are happening as we speak. Once this happens AML BitCoin will be accepted everywhere and by everyone. Can't wait for this to happen!!!

I personally hold different coins for different reasons, Sometimes for investment, while other times It could be due to disappointment in the price of the coin. I'm currently holding quite a number TRX, and XLM which basically for investment and due complete belief in project. Nevertheless I also hold some other coins I got from bounties such as Verity, and Bethereum, seeing how those tokens price are abused by numerous dumping from bounty hunters (and maybe some private investors), I was somewhat forced to hold them, knowing fully well the potentials of these projects.

I am HODL because above all, there are no vehicles in the world that are better for disrupting traditional wealth distribution than cryptocurrency.

Mass adoption, also clear regulations. Although cryptocurrency does not crash due to rules or other reasons the media tries to sell to you.

Sometimes I worry about government policy, where the government can take radical steps without consulting the masses at a certain point in time.

Hope you've got that man. I've eventually thinking that holding isn't having an assurance that it will give us more profitable in the future. Yes, holding makes safe for losing but how if the market keep on falling? Do still keep on holding?
Do seeing other people became a millionaire gives us courage and motivate us to have a try and work for crypto. It seems to become harder of today but I'll keep on moving.
