Well if there are a real project (With trustworthy Team) which is really willing to distirbute Their tokens! There are Many ways Without Doing ICO!

ICOs should just get funded from VCs and do an airdrop to community.

Most ico can be done open source on github for free.. the greed in creating all of these project is stifling growth. A lot of innovation come from free open source project from passionate developers.

Im 3 years in this field and strictly advice you do not invest in any ico at all.

ICOs cannot keep robbing people with white papers. 99% of icos scamming people! For example Recently GoNetwork basically did that. Raise 50 million and now have market cap of 3 million. And they have absolutely nothing to show for it.

Well maybe a lot of ICOs are scam but still there is some worthful I guess. It just can't be that all of the ICOs are scam. And yes, some developers need funds. It's like crowdfunding, but it's crypto crowdfunding. Invest on your own risk.

I know what you feel man and that's the sad truth on whats currently happening on ICO investments as of now. People are blinded with their greed and still hoping and believing on easy rich scheme where
they are targeting out 10-100x Ico investments returns and that's the main reason why but if we do compare on the investment activity it becomes more lesser due to current market condition and sooner or later even legit projects will really be affected.

Not every ICO is a scammer, though it is sad to say that the majority of them are suspicious to some extent.

It is usually quite simple to tell the true gems apart from the scammers, usually, the stronger projects have a technical whitepaper and some big names on board with their development team.

Advisors are glorified influencers and partners are usually nothing more than paid agreements.

Keep on your toes and you will still be able to invest in some good ones.

You made some valid points. But I still feel we should give ICOs a chance. They are still the major means by which the new token projects get fund for further development and listing on exchanges.

I think that you should invest in ICO only if you check and understand that it is reputable. To my mind, the best way to earn money is to invest in good coins like btc and ether. I think that ICO projects aren't always safe

I think that ICO is a good way to earn if you know that ICO is a reputable project. I think that you should check if the project isn't a scam. there are a lot of projects which are good but not all of them

I think some of your points are good but we shouldnt term all ICO as scam. Although right now a project I highly regarded is gradually turning into one of those they are all the same story. Most of the ICOs just want to grab money and go back to relax and live their dream lives and leave investors with shitcoins.

I think the era of ICOs just getting started. Sure, everything calmed down a bit from the winter of 2017 and 2018 has been mostly "trying to gather funds in bear market" situation, but I guess that could only be a positive thing. Projects that were quality-based, gathered their soft caps (even hard caps) and are now in development stage. Those who had bad ideas (also scams) didn't even meet their soft caps.

The majority of them are so greedy and they don't even care to create a support to their market. basically in this bearish market and it will be more difficult to encourage the demand. As far as i know about they are traded above the ico price at the early stage but i would not try to expect a lot from them all dude. some icos that raised more than 50k ether doesn't wanna support their own market.

Scammers are everywhere, although you provide other ways to promote a project (without ICO), they will be there. For me, the point is you should be smarter and more selective to choose ICO. Let ICOs run normally, but investors and bounty hunters or another part related to ICO must know a real ICO or the fake one. Why don't we think about this: (1.) Provide more strict regulation in ICO registry (2.) The team members of ICO needs to apply the process with KYC. Note: If it is possible to be implemented, at least it can minimize the fake people.

I dont think so.
It is not over yet.
There are still projects with unique kind of features. Yeah I am seeing a repeated kind of project but there may be a genius that will suddenly rise and would need the ICO for his project to be funded.
As log as we pick the right ones then the scams will stop.
