Nothing has changed in the ICO sector, except for the fact that the exchanges have started to take much more money. This is clearly not good, so I think that here it is necessary to understand that there are big problems for investors and for the market as a whole.

yeah we all know ICO is fully of scam projects.
now investor run away from ICO and looking to IEO because IEO is more safe and more better than ICO.
we need change and stop scam in ICO and we need to health like 2017.

I don't agree with you, in my opinion there are still quality and decent ICOs for many people to follow. But indeed at this time there are many ICOs that are scam and there must be regulations that make unclear ICOs unable to surface.
Agree, but we should be careful in choosing the ICO quality, see road map, team and how planning ahead that project. Scammers in the world of ICO is a problem for investors who are careless. |

Back in 2016-2017 is when the crypto community witness some of the great ico's happening in this space, and i know most of them where some how genuine with dedicated teams behind them, now honestly same cannot be said with what we have today in the market, majority of ico's now ended up scamming investors, the confidence to invest is no longer there, but there are still few good one's only the bad one's now over shadow them.

ICO has long ceased to make money. The only thing you can now make it on projects that sell on the exchanges themselves, but there is also need to have time to sell

I have not invested in ICO since 2018 because I do not see any benefit in it. Everything is just a minus or just empty. As for me, it is better to choose exchanges for trading than ICO.

A lot of opportunities to make money and if you invest in ICO soon, the risk may be very high because almost all projects in 2018 are scam and very few people can make a profit from it. I think it's time for the market to change and come up with better solutions to consider new pennies in the future. I am personally starting to participate in IEO projects because this can be a great opportunity to change my life. |

A lot of investors had been disappointed with he ICOs last year. That is why some ptojects find it hard to gather funds in their ICO, due to investors being skeptical on investing in ICOs.

The World Do not need new tokens at all. We got enough shitcoin for next 100 years.
Well if there are a real project (With trustworthy Team) which is really willing to distirbute Their tokens! There are Many ways Without Doing ICO!
ICOs should just get funded from VCs and do an airdrop to community.
Most ico can be done open source on github for free.. the greed in creating all of these project is stifling growth. A lot of innovation come from free open source project from passionate developers.
Im 3 years in this field and strictly advice you do not invest in any ico at all.

Nowadays ICO is disappear and change by IEO , it's better chance to get some profit on IEO instead of ICO cause usually when IEO ends token gonna list immediately on the exchange and people get fomo!
Usually the price can go up 2-3 times from IEO price, even more if on big exchange like binance!
Easy money for lucky participants.
Different case with ICO, when it list on market it's hard to get good price on the first day, it takes time to get good price
And it's still depends to the good or bad the project too.

I completely agree. The amount of coins out there is insane. It's quite sad to think how many people are lured and scammed into buying these so called "new and innovative" projects. I do hope more people start being more aware of how and what crypto scams look like. Once people start learning more about how these scams work the healthier crypto will be. So here is a bump for this thread. Let's all help increase awareness. |

I still believe in ico. but it does have to be more detailed in that we do a complete check so that fraud does not occur which ultimately hurts. the thing that I often ask about sales transparency is because it's very important to see if this fraudulent project or not. their team is fake or not, etc. so that we are truly confident in investing with confidence

sadly it's true, most ico out there is scammer and only to get for quick money. the problem is bounty hunters still join the bounties and some investor still invest on this kind of ico. i myself not invest my money again on ico since 2018 because most of the project are not good to invest. |

I don't know if you have a crystal ball as you can still choose between good project from those bad one that's been created, but seriously, this venue of investment is no longer healthy, and like what OP's saying most of the scammers are enjoying collecting funds from investors who's still trying to find luck using this system, they will continue to prosper as long as they've getting people to finance them. |

Its really unfair to label all ICOs a scam, there are still a lot of good upcoming projects out there you just have to do your research. Its just like real life, most startups fail but the ones that succeed give you an enormous return on investment.
Even if you do proper research and then invest the money, the chances are that you will still lose your heard earned money. From what I have seen in the recent past, there is no dearth of good projects in the ICO market. But the problem is that most of these projects will go dormant once the ICO is over. In the whitepaper it may be given that the development will continue up to 2024 or 2030. But only on rare occasions these deadlines are honored. |

Yeah, there are a lot of projects i invest on it, we also did some bounty on them and received our allocation, but the worst thing is the money we spend on them investing and trusting on them , they turned away all of our money and time we spend and it sucks, the lesson i learned about this one is do the research first , ask some professional advice if this one is a worth one.
