Litecoin(LTC) is one of the pioneering crypto here, but I would rather choose still Ethereum because erc20 became useful for several years, particularly for every new ico token project that will rise up here in crypto business. Even in the market, it remained stable while its price value got dumped but still can able to recover its price in the future to kick its price once more.

Since this post was created last year and the answers are enough for that point of time

Then i will give my answer for this time being,i think its more advisable to invest in ethereum because of the stability this coin showing us now.and how much this can bring fortune to the investors if this grows with bitcoin before the year ends

Ethereum and litcoin cannot be compared as ethereum is always a king of all altcoins and my first choice is ethereum to invest rather then litcoin. We can put a large chunk of our investment in ethereum and make a part in litcoin also in 70-30 ratio.

Litecoin is the second coin I bought after Bitcoin, I used to invest in cloud mining, I like Litecoin because transactions are very fast and the cost is very cheap, and in August Litecoin will be halving day and hopefully like Bitcoin in 2016.

Litecoin is bigger than ETH in terms of transaction speed and block size. ETH also has the potential to hit the high prices but unfortunately, the market conditions don't let the customers, investors invest in.

the market got a boost from the bitcoin movement, but unfortunately indeed the growth of bitcoin did not have a major impact on eth or litecoin. but I myself like ethereum rather than litecoin, ethereum in my market I believe is bigger.

For me ethereum is the first choice than Litecoin, hundreds of active tokens and dozens of exchanges based ERC-20 are strong evidence that ethereum will be great in the future.

I also like Ethereum more than any other type of virtual currency even though there is no big impact from Ethereum at this time. Ethereum has a better price last year.

Personally, I like these two coins, LTC and ETH, because they appeared on the market a long time ago and have already proved themselves, I think that they should be kept in the portfolio.

I'm going for both, why you don't invest in both of them ?

You can not compare both of them maybe just in terms or transactions where LTC is a bit better than ETH...

you're right, basically both are pretty good. however, I think ETH really is a coin to be considered for now. its development is directly proportional to bitcoin. many people choose both, but I still choose ETH to save. I believe that the price of ETH will be more than $ 250 this year

I see LTC and ETH are both crypto good to hold and use and why not both? and before you own some other bitcoin? Both prices are still not so high that even if you choose you still have a good currency.

Its best if you own both. Both ltc and eth are great crypto and right now, they are performing well in the market. In crypto, its always better to diversify. It means investing in different coins. It will maximize your earnings and minimize your losses. Just like the saying says, don't put all your eggs in just one basket. Invest in as many crypto as you can.
I would rather just to invest my money in BTC and ETH because almost all of the trader known that LTC has increased too much now. I guess it will be not profitable if you invested in it. I am not saying do not buy ltc but in my own perspective, ltc growth is too much for a new buyer.

Both of them are good. But there is no comparison behind them. Cause the basic mechanisms is very different in this two coins. Ethereum is a platform based token and at this moment ethereum is the most used and most popular platform available. And after Constantinople hardfork and ethereum 2.0 announced where they also announced bthat they will work on scalability, the platform is rebuild them. In other hand Litecoin is a payment based toekn. And after they announced the privacy update,we saw a bounce. And many companies which accept crypto as a payment method started to use Litecoin. So  they both are good to invest but always do your own research before investment.

In my own opinion I think, LTC is a good buy right now.. Although ETH seems to look more bolsterous based on the share fact that it supports and serve as frame work for a host of blockchain projects, LTC has some amazing news coming soon which i think could be ground breaking.

I am giving an advantage to LTC
ETH is developing really slow, devs have a lot to implement before the POS phase, as the top implementation on Ethereum, when I'm seeing the spike in the price for ETH
LTC will be halved this year, in ~august 2019. https://www.litecoinblockhalf.com/
as we know from Bitcoin halving, after every halving era, we have a big spike in price, and for sure LTC will have one of those too
the hashrate of the LTC network is at the all time high, and there are new mining machines plugged-in on a daily basis, so the hashrate will grow more and more by the halving date, and miners have to pay their elec bills, right? So the math here is simple:
LTC vs. ETH,  LTC will be a simple winner for this bullish year

my prediction is a grow in value of minumum x4 by the end of this year
It is always amazing to see Litecoin move faster in both technical aspects such as faster speed of transactions with earlier activation of Lightning Network, and in halving schedule. Litecoin will have in the latter half of this year, while Bitcoin will do halve in May next year.
However, I also choose Ethereum for my portfolio, with smaller part than Litecoin, of course.

The two cryptocurrency coins are very different from each other and cannot be related. Personally, if was to choose between the two coins, i will rather choose to invest in Ethereum with enough potentials than Litecoin. Also, Ethereum has workable platform compare to that of Litecoin, even though they likewise do.

Let's compare the following increases made for these two good alts with my own assessment.
With LTC, the lowest that I've seen for this coin was $23 and the highest that it has peaked for this year, around $88.
With ETH, the lowest that I've seen was around $72ish and the current high price is $172.
Both of these coins performed well but let's think if ever you invested $1,000 for each of them during the lowest, who has the greatest gain?
LTC: $1,000 / $23 = 43.47 LTC
ETH: $1,000 / $72 = 13.88 ETH

Possible gain during the peak this year
43.47 LTC * $88 = $3,825
13.88 * $172 = $2,387

If I were to choose, I choose them both because these coins has both potential. And nowadays they're started to rise up their value again,  especially on that etherium coin which is get started to recover from long declined market in recently months.
