I think Hedera Hashgraph will be the next big thing in 2019. It's something new and there is lot of hype about this one. It will easily make it's place on CMC top 10.

What about ADA and XLM? High Projects but at the same time pretty legit.

Other than that, a couple of smaller projects like wan aion etc...

Everything will depend on the state of the market. In the bear market, small projects will be difficult to develop.

Altcoins may actually be the future of cryptocurrencies rather than Bitcoin for various reasons including transaction speed and fees. As Bitcoin is priced really high, entry is hard for those new to cryptocurrencies, and altcoins are much cheaper alternatives.
