Is Block Chain going to be the next internet?

I think Block Chain is empowering more and more these days,the number crypto enthusiasts is increaing day by day.More project are emerging daily,and all these ideas brought me up to decision whether Block  Chain is going to be the next internet?how many of you agree with these?

I don't believe it will ever be as critical as the creation of the internet TBH (just simply because everything ties back to the creation of the internet, including blockchain technologies), but I do believe it will be within a short list of greatest inventions/concepts within the modern world.

I think we're only going to see more and more applications for the use of blockchains, and further advancement/investment in implementing the blockchain in more and more ways.

I do have to say when I see al the news I have the feeling big movements are around the corner but in my daily life I'm not experiencing it so far.

After the hype of Bitcoin, it's only natural that hype will leave. The massive increase of the price of BTC only would have resulted in hype, which naturally would have faded.

However, while the price of Bitcoin has dropped since, I don't believe it will drop drastically further, as IMO the hype has created an industry of advancement within Blockchain technology (more companies/startups are being created to developer Bitcoin and technologies like it due to the initial hype)

the rise was not "all hype" it was real adoption and the increasing demand for the decentralized currency that led to the rise in first place and then obviously a rise means profit and profit means greedy people will also look towards bitcoin and the result of that is the hype and the bubble which will be over with a bubble burst and a price drop eventually and that is what we have now.
and that is why the price won't drop any further because of the real demand is still there and the speculative demand that came in because of the hype is now gone.
although in my opinion one of the biggest reasons for no further drop is the fact that bitcoin has dropped more than it should have and now it is underpriced and oversold...

I know it wasn't all hype, but I do believe that the price increase was largely created due to hype.
As I mentioned, I do believe adoption will carry bitcoin forward. Initial hype in technologies is always a thing, it's how the project sustains that interest which is most important.

As Bitcoin itself was one of the primary adopters of Blockchain technology, I believe that Bitcoin will be existent for many years to come, if not indefinitely.

However, as for price, it's anyone's guess. I'm not in the position to speculate the price of Bitcoin 1 year, 5 years or 10 years to come. I believe in the technology, and as such I hold Bitcoin knowing it is a rather risky but worthy holding.

Let's hope that he was simply comparing the blockchain with the internet as in great invention and not that it would really replace it...although I have some doubts with all this blockchain hype.

People have gone completely crazy and they think that in the future we will have to use the blockchain to even take a dump and no matter how many time you hit them in the head with the thing called reality they will still be many coming and making the most stupid assumptions and predictions.

And yeah, blockchain is a database, nothing more, it needs internet (in most cases) it can't become the internet, it can't become a way of communicating, as its basic existence needs one.

Suffice to say it's the next big thing on the Internet. Blockchain technology is a marvelous creation. It makes ease of doing business, records and of course our lives. Internet probably is the greatest invention in technology. Blockchain needs Internet before you can utilize its use.

I wouldn't call it one of the greatest though, as somewhat have said, its just a ledger, and database has been with us since the early years of PC. Although it has great advantage like data is "immutable", hard to tampered with, etc..

In terms of changing the lives of people, this invention doesn't bring that much impact as Internet does. On the contrary, it only adds value for major companies to fully reduced its dependencies so much on people, i.e CEO just can pull the data anytime he/she wanted without calling the secretary on the other room. Provides efficiency and it can help make business decisions very quickly because all the data is transparent.

I don't think that the blockchain would be that important in the future society, though I must admit that there'd be a lot of potential applications for the said technology. It would be important but not to the point wherein it can be compared to the internet's importance in today's society. The blockchain could be applied on a lot of services but it can't function as a standalone app in which the laymen could utilize just like the internet. As of now, it's just restricted to being a ledger albeit some other coin developers embedding some more fancy features on the said tech.

We can't compare blockchain with the internet, I know both are computer technologies but are two totally different things. Is just like asking, will HSBC become the next library or the next city?

In terms of popularity, blockchain can't be better than the internet, because you need internet to use blockchain, but you don't need blockchain to use the internet.

But in terms of new technology, maybe it could be, at the end blockchain and internet are two of the biggest inventions in computer science.

Blockchain is the latest discovery that the majority of the institutions around the world will have to tap into for the purpose of ease. Banking and finance, commerce, power, agriculture, health, government etc are few examples. Internet did same thing and it became popular because virtually all activities take place on the Internet nowadays. I think blockchain will be as popular as the Internet with time.
