meantime on bittrex...
"This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, December 9th 2016 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 14 days exceeds 0.5 BTC. "

Potcoin Developer Update: Dec 2nd 2016

Hello Everyone,

We wanted to give everyone a quick update of what we've been working on. As promised, we will make our best efforts to keep the community aware of what we are doing and working on.  We believe being the most transparent possible will yield the best possible outcome.

The Beta version launch of our PotWallet App was a great success. We thank all beta testers for their valuable feedback.  We are looking into submitting the Apps to the corresponding stores (Apple, Google, Microsoft) in early 2017.

Our team has grown to 4 full time developers as we continue to build the systems necessary to make Potcoin and PotWallet scale to high volume transactions.  We will be announcing our 100% refactored version of PotWallet in the beginning of 2017 as well.  This version will include a revamped interface, new features, drastically improved scalability and security.  We are also building extensive WEB plugins and extensions to make Potcoin easily acceptable on all platforms (magento, wordpress, shopify, etc...)

As legalization is fast approaching in Canada, we are striving to make sure all our systems are GO to accommodate the flow of new Potcoin users and transactions.  We are currently in negotiation with many MMJ Licensed Producers in Canada in order to accept Potcoin and offer it as a reward system to their patients.  They are very excited about Potcoin and see the many benefits of a system like that for patients, producers, doctors and everyone involved in the industry.

2017 is going to be a big year for Potcoin and PotWallet. Many exciting news and developments to come.

Stay tuned fellow Potcoiners !!!

Please enlighten me! Why are you posting about potcoin in the hempcoin thread?

dawm good question...

especially as the THC has been announced for delisting Dec 9th....

For other coins announced for delisting, there were a wake up of their community
and large increase in volume...

it does not seem to be the case for THC

Are dev still active?

See issues with wallet and blockchain....

Please, update

We going with a release date of December 16th. We have established the date with Richie at BITTREX. The delist is simply automated which will go away. All the details will be listed soon. Load up on THC while its low because this update will catipult the coin to new Highs!

the updated wallet release was scheduled for today, it is ready to go i just need to contact hempcoin first to get the final git stuff pushed through and give him all the executables to post for you guys. so thats all thats left. new version is 2.0.0.0

also, i know someone asked about why i did what i did with the key.cpp CKey::Sign function, here is the explaination (this references bitcoin BIP32 among some other things)

The problem is that if (R,S) is a valid ECDSA signature for a given message and public key, (R,-S) is also valid. Modulo N (the order of the secp256k1 curve), this means that both (R,S) and (R,N-S) are valid. Given that N is odd, S and N-S have a different lowest bit. We solve the problem by forcing signatures to have a low malleability S value.

Does anyone have instructions on the easiest way to get this built and running on linux with the command line? It might be really useful for people if they want to set up a node and stake on something like https:/do.co or on a VPS.

I find it a lot more relaxing to rent hosting and run a node for a cryptocoin than running them from home.

This is what I recorded last time I tried to install hempcoin

Code:
//how to build hempcoin on debian digital ocean.

sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libqrencode-dev
sudo apt-get install git
git clone https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC.git
cd THC/src/
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
apt-get install ntp git build-essential libssl-dev libdb-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libqrencode-dev
sudo apt-get install miniupnpc
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libboost-devel
sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev
sudo apt-get install libminiupnpc-dev
free
dd if=/dev/zero of=/var/swap.img bs=1024k count=1000
mkswap /var/swap.img
swapon /var/swap.img
free
make -f makefile.unix hempcoind

The free swap stuff in there allows this to install on servers with limited RAM.

I get this error when I try to run the new version of hempcoin. I don't see any wallet.dat or hempcoin.conf in the .Hempcoin folder. There's the other stuff though.

debug.log:
Hempcoin version v2.0.0.0 (2016-12-17)
Using OpenSSL version OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014
Startup time: 12/17/16

Used data directory /home/hempcash/.Hempcoin
dbenv.open LogDir=/home/hempcash/.Hempcoin/database ErrorFile=/home/hempcash/.Hempcoin/db.log
ERROR: CDB() : error Invalid argument (22) opening database environment

Flushed 0 addresses to peers.dat  21ms
Flush(true) db not started
Hempcoin exited

db.log:

I emptied the directory and get that error message again.

*Note* OpenSSL 1.0.1 through 1.0.1f (inclusive) are vulnerable. The OpenSSL should be updated to 1.0.1g or higher.

Do the Dependency Build Instructions in build-unix.md in Bitcoin repo https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md (ZMQ is not needed)

Then get the repo.
Code:
git clone https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC
cd into the src folder
Code:
cd THC/src
build
Code:
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

If your node has less than 2GB of RAM, you'll need to create a swapfile.
