after a few years with no time for coins I have come back to my old coins. Since a few days I’m trying to get the current version of the wallet to sync but it always gets stuck at some blocks. What I have tried with wallet compiled from source and Windows version. I am using the the nodes from the last posts. Also I have tried it with the bootstrap with no success. Wrong blockchain fork?
How can I get my wallet to sync?
All wallets including bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum have this problem. The fix is usually closing and restarting the wallet. I tried out the code from the docker file and it worked perfect on Ubuntu 16. I did not use docker though. apt-get update apt-get install -y \ build-essential \ libssl-dev \ libboost-all-dev \ libqrencode-dev \ git \ ntp \ libdb-dev \ libdb++-dev \ miniupnpc \ libminiupnpc-dev
git clone https://github.com/hempcoin-project/THC.git cd THC/src/ && make -f makefile.unix hempcoind && mv hempcoind /usr/local/bin cd /usr/local/bin
./hempcoind
*this isn't a linux command*, create file /root/.Hempcoin/Hempcoin.conf
./hempcoind & ./hempcoind getinfo
It took over 10 minutes to build. Blockchain was synced over night. Lots of the wallet problems come from trying to run it on a weak machine that does not have enough RAM or processing power.

alright, brought my wallet back from the dead. Downloaded from a link on the first page, added all the nodes I could find, Copied my old .dat file over. I can see my coins (says unconfirmed of course) and I have 4 active connections but it does not look like its doing anything. Any advice? I am on a windows machine. Thanks

had almost all of those except for one. Is there someway for me to download the blockchain instead of trying to sync it? I saw a link on a previous page but it was broken. Thanks for the help everyone.

If anyone is having problems with the wallet, here are some tips that I've learnt in addition to what @fartbags said. These are general altcoin wallet tips that apply to all coins and not just THC. #1 They take a long time to load so let it go over night. Bitcoin can take 3 days or more to sync. #2 If the app stops downloading blocks, restart the app and possibly the entire computer. #3 Lastly you can try backing up the wallet.dat, uninstall the app & all it's data, re-install the app and replace with your old wallet.dat.

THC is taking off lately. Looks like a good coin to get into. Nice community that supports it and continues development. One of the classic altcoins.

W/ the #bitcoin blockchain full, THC blockchain is a nice option to use.

Lucky for you it keeps pumping! Depending on your machine it might take a really long time to sync. What're your computer specs? I recommend minimum 4 core CPU and 8gb of RAM. Processing the blockchain is computationally expensive. A fast computer will do it faster. If you put your mouse cursor over where it's syncing at the bottom of the app, does it show how many blocks are being processed so far? If that is continuing to move then there isn't anything you can do other than wait.

I had it on all last night and nothing. now i after about 5 hours again today it shows its doing some syncing. as for my pc, my 8 core took a shit for no reason so im on a pos cpu with 12 gigs of ram. once its synced how long will it take for me to get coins out of stake? Can i Just unlock wallet and they will go to balance?

In general for all #altcoins restarting the wallet often fixes the problem. Make sure you shut it down properly instead of using some sort of immediate kill process.

I'm not sure the exact commands but they're something like this, in Hempcoin.conf add reservebalance=1000000000 staking=0 (maybe stake=0) then restart the wallet and wait a few blocks.

If you need advanced support help with THC, you can usually find help by search on the same help topic for "Novacoin", "Peercoin" or any other scrypt PoS/PoW hybrid coin.

Damn, couldn't sync worth shit after several attempts. Decided to delete everything in the appdata directory (of course made a backup of wallet.dat). I let everything redownload using only this in my config:
addnode=115.236.88.86 addnode=24.224.89.67 addnode=31.31.78.40 addnode=195.181.208.162 addnode=46.167.245.107 addnode=138.201.39.53 addnode=198.27.106.7 addnode=162.243.1.45 addnode=162.209.109.81 addnode=83.183.247.151 addnode=24.69.200.51 addnode=82.21.238.186 addnode=54.186.62.109 addnode=88.208.236.108 addnode=198.50.132.65 addnode=69.10.58.157 rpcport=12055
I let it sync over night and once sync'd I shut down. I threw my wallet back in there and I'm all good. I also did a repairwallet command in debug once finished and ended up w/ more coins than I thought I had. Been awhile since I ran this.
