Ok no matter what anyone says now is not the time to start trading unless you are planning on losing a bunch of money which is what you are going to be doing if you start trading now. The market is way too low now which would mean that you would only be making losses, the altcoins are suffering, now is a time to hold coins and not trade them

I think holding is also efficient if you are able to hold your coins for several years. Trading is also risky and you can make a bad trade, that would lead to the same results as the price decrease by a coin you hold.

But it seems to me that there is a risk everywhere and this concerns not only trading, you can also lose all the coins and tokens that you previously considered quite normal, but it turned out that they lost value, so I think that the risks in cryptocurrency are constant.

Most of the advice I see when someone asks if they should HODL or trade is that to HODL.
If we only HODL and not trade, how will we ever make profit.
If we do HODL, how long do we have to just hold. The only  thing happens is the price keep going down.

I believe instead of just keep holding, we should at least start trading. For beginners they can also learn how to trade.
I've started to trade 3 months ago and I've been earning profit since.

This is just my opinion and I would encourage others to do so as well.

The word and term holding is for the newbie or for the people who started doing trading. You can earn through holding and sometime you can earn more profit than doing trading. Trading for newbie is very risky just like what happen I just lot of money when I do trading and that time I am beginner in trading.

On the high level there are three main cases:
1. When up trend - you should hold coins and sell them in portions
2. When market is relatively flat - you should trade

Now this is indeed not the right time to trade because prices still tend to go down and the increase is not high but in fact we can still profit even when bullish, it's just that the risk of loss is indeed greater and only people who take risks can do that with the note that they have a lot of capital
