im not that sure but there are still crypto worth investing in, like omisego, btc, appcoin and ethereum that showing a good chance of huge recovery from the huge dip last year.

I think the problem of profit is the problem of strategy that we have. You know there are some people who lose because they use bitcoin. because the strategy they have is not good. well, if the question is a more profitable coin compared to bitcoin, I think ETH is also able to provide big profits when you have a good strategy.

I think you are right that choosing a good strategy and analyzing the same bitcoin or any other coin can make a profit

If you are talking about the strategy and that doesn't work on this traditional market and then the speculators can manipulate the market and that makes your prediction becomes useless.
Any coin can generate a lot of profits for you but that depends on how bottom you can take to get in.

In short term, I think there are many candidate but it has been proven over and over that on long term basis BTC beat most of these Altcoins if not all, the sustainability of a project should be the priority now as we have seen most of these projects will end up in zero as competition stiff

Just look at the performance of various altcoins during 2017 vs. bitcoin. Most of those outperformed bitcoin. But bitcoin is safe to hold long-term while most altcoins are not.

Yeah, a lot of good coins also that can give you higher profit in short term since the future of altcoins is still depend on bitcoin so its hard to play long. Yes of course despite of this situation you can still gain more profits than bitcoin check " here ". But only for long term i guess, because mostly nowadays has no stable progress  because of volatility of market.  Which is be careful choosing a coin , much better to make a technical analysis first to assure you can obtain more profits.

The last time I checked there's no altcoin which is more profitable than bitcoin when it comes to long term investment or trading and most crypto million make their huge profit through bitcoin. However, most of the altcoin are usually manipulated and long term investment is not good.

It is true that if you see the growth of bitcoin over the years then no coin is even close to it in terms of the profits you could get but the biggest growth is already in the past this is why people keep looking for altcoins to give them profits because they want to repeat the success the early adopters got with bitcoin but now that is very difficult to replicate with the market as it is.

The short answer is yes, there are more profitable coins, but the downside is that they come with increased risk. It's fairly likely that some coin somewhere in the lower reaches in marketcap will go x100 before bitcoin goes even x2 from its current price.
The trick of course is in identifying these hidden gems. It needs knowledge, skill and also vast amounts of luck. It also needs to be something that few other people know about, which is why its unlikely that anyone will share their hidden gems until they've fully loaded up.

Their would be coins which can get you profits in short term only nothing like btc where in long term as well they would be much stronger and have good demand like btc. Only couple of altcoins like ETH, NEO etc could go stronger which can give you profits like btc.

These good old stories are the thing of the past, i have not seen coin in the past one year that is profitable and no one can be said to be a profitable one in the long run other than bitcoin, everyone in the past three years have made a lot of money when the ICO boom started and made a lot of profit when it lasted and i do not thing those good old days will be back again, eagerly waiting to see what the price of other coins will be when the next bitcoin rally starts, this year is an interesting one and eager to see the direction in which our market drives.
