If you wanna hold the altcoins for a long time, i think you should go with ethereum or xrp. I think these two will survive in the market and will become profitable in the future if we buy it now.

looking at both i would scrape xrp and go for ethereum. User case and overall supply for eth is way better and less of a risk.

Exactly. Not to mention, XRP is extremely centralized whereas Ethereum is quite the opposite. Comparing both cryptocurrencies, Ethereum is a lot better than XRP because it's more active in development and has greater innovation than its competitor. Also, Ethereum has greater functionalities than XRP itself, allowing us to develop or interact with smart contracts. Knowing that ETH is highly prominent within the crypto space, should be a reason to buy and hodl it as much as you can (especially this time).

There's no doubt that prices for most altcoins are way lower than they were back in 2017. It's a huge discount for serious investors and traders looking to take advantage of the crypto craze. Once a bull market takes place again, then those who held coins at lower prices could profit by a large margin. The altcoins which have higher chances of rising in price, are those within the top 10 rankings in market cap.

Nonetheless, if you save and invest your money into prominent altcoins, you'll be able to stay ahead in the game before everyone else does. Before you know it, your investment would have doubled or tripled than it was before. Just my thoughts

not expected time ? hmmmm .  you mean you will just invest instantly after you have a cash ? there is no right or wrong time on investing in legit alts because all of them can still grow in the long run , so your strategy is still okay  . i like your style actually because your not expecting anything on your investment  while other are in complete opposite but they feel depressed and stressed if their expectations fail them .

Agree. While the list of altcoins is extensive, with proper time and dedication, one could easily find good altcoins that are worth your investment. Usually the top 5 to 10 cryptocurrencies in market cap will do, although they're not the definitive list for crypto investments. Which is why, you should analyze the market periodically, as well as, check the latest news related to crypto (via CoinDesk or Cointelegraph) to make the right investment decision at the right time.

Knowing that most altcoins are driven by hype/speculation, should be a reason for you to buy some when prices are depressed across the market. Nowadays, we're still in a bear market as Bitcoin hasn't crossed the $20k valuation per coin (latest ATH in 2017). Nearly any altcoin within the top 5 to 10 rankings in market cap, are worth buying nowadays. They have great development teams, constant innovation, and dedication, in order to make crypto a better place. Altcoins such as Ethereum, Cardano, EOS, Stellar, Litecoin, and even Monero are worth buying this time when prices have declined quite a bit.

Compared to 2017's All-time-highs (ATHs), most altcoins are on a huge discount these days. I'm sure that adoption for said cryptocurrencies will grow over time, as they deliver useful features for the mainstream world. Not to mention, some give you a constant stream of rewards by just hodling them over time (like Stellar, and Cardano). With some time and dedication, you can find good altcoins with active development and innovation, in order to help secure your financial future.

Ripple might not do it. I mean, XRP may not survive as initially, crypto was created as a decentralized currency. Other cool decentralized altcoins can simply swallow it with time. Ethereum is a good investment.

Stellar is something that i look for now. Since it is on top 10 coinmarketcap coin (when i post this, i see Stellar is on number 10), i think there are a lot of possibility that Stellar / Lumens to increased in future and worth to invest.
