If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

I choose bitcoin, although a bit risky in investing but it will help me earn a huge profit after 10 years.
Gold is a full wrap option, it will not make you rich quick, it's just hoarding your money

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

To date Bitcoin is all famous for only about 10 years. But we know about the global domination of gold metal throughout the history of mankind. I do not think that gold can fall in value so much that it will depreciate. I understand that Bitcoin is very good today in price and brings good profits, but Gold is a commodity whose price is almost constant and unchanged.

We all have a choice as investors and if only I have a lot of money I will include gold in diversification of my holding.
I have bitcoins and now I am more aggressive investing in crypto since the good news are really tempting me to get more exposure in this industry.
Our mind changes as the market evolve and right now I will always choose bitcoin since it's where my investment sits.

I might hold some gold. But I think I will hold most wealth in bitcoin.

that is right, i think both are important and safe investment, but those people who are interested to increase their assets then bitcoin is the best option. and those people who simple want to save their money then they should buy gold which is more safe investment.

It is never like convert all your wealth in one asset. That would be stupidity. In terms of proper portfolio construction, you should diversify. You should have different types of assets that don’t necessarily move together. Bitcoin and gold have their own benefits. According to me person should hold both.

Gold slowly appreciates, has elemental value and is here from quite a long time as a store of value. Thus making it more reliable. Bitcoin is new, appreciates faster, inflation free and little bit riskier than gold (but still in long term bitcoin has proven to be 100% profitable. But future is uncertain.). Hence, investors who want fast profit go for bitcoin. What I think is person should hold both. Diversified portfolio is best

And that's the right thing

That they don't reveal how many coins they have. As the saying goes, money loves silence while big money loves grave silence. And people are very envious overall (you can even see it here, at bitcointalk, now and then, here and there), and if their neighbor all of a sudden jumps from zero to hero, so to speak, they will feel sincerely offended. But there are enough folks who feel particular pleasure in making all these envious people feel even more miserable by deliberately showing off their new wealth. You can be pretty sure that among Bitcoin nouveaux riches the percentage of such people is higher than between gold bugs. In other words, new money always loves to show off in general

Yeah... have to agree with you here. A majority of the Bitcoin nouveaux rich may not be interested in showing off their wealth, but the percentage of those who does will be far greater than in any other sector. If I ever become rich from my Bitcoin holdings, then I am going to delete my Bitcointalk attack and firmly remain silent about my wealth.

I am confused if you have to choose gold or bitcoin, because for now it is suitable for future investment.

You have to choose on what investment likely to go up on the future. it seems that gold had reached it peak and it is harder for gold to gain more price. But we all know that bitcoin is just on its early stage. we see it's chart to be very bullish and has a lot of potential of its price to grow.

I would choose Bitcoin instead of Gold. Gold can give high returns but you have to keep it for many years unlike with Bitcoin its price is unstable so everytime i can see opportunity to get profit i grab it with Bitcoin. Using Bitcoin gives me the advantage in exchanging Bitcoin to other crypto to earn profit.

I'd keep all my money in bitcoins cuz gold doesn't increase in value as often as bitcoin.Plus i can also trade with my bitcoins rather than keeping all my gold in my safe.

Gold is quite staying on the same value spot but it won't really dive. It fluctuates very little. Bitcoin's price, on the other hand, keeps moving up and down in the chart with large movements. I am not sure if the price will triple or double up or down 10 years from now. It is indeed on its early stage but it is already experiencing some trouble right now.

I'd have to choose both, as they are both very important to an individual in terms of price and price increase. Both have its positives and negatives, however, i'd have to lean towards bitcoin. From the past few months, we have seen an increase in the price of bitcoin and also its popularity has sky-rocketed. In the long run, the popularity of Bitcoin will only grow, as I see no possible reason or explanation to why it wouldnt. To me, it makes more sense to use bitcoin than any other form of payment, and im sure many others see it this way too. In the future, we will be able to see (in my opinion) bitcoin take over wire-transfers. Gold on the other hand is just a metal, that has no trend in price increase. Bitcoin will be far more popular than anyone will anticipate.

Agreed. Gold is just a way of storing your wealth. while bitcoin is  still a risky investment yet you can gain a lot on this investment.

Bitcoin is just a risky investment when you bought it for from a wrong price and you don't know what are the things that you need when you invest in bitcoin and you don't have enough knowledge in bitcoin. If you have enough knowledge about bitcoin then it is easy for you to make money because even though you bought it at the top then you are comfortable that it will go up again and reach a higher price and give profits to you.

Yes, just because of this gold is preferred by the users much though it doesn't provide a big profit. With bitcoin the growth is high same time the risk factors were big. Compared to the past days now scenarios were different. I used to think of the early adopters of bitcoin. What might have been their thinking while investing into bitcoin when the price was less than $10.

I would choose bitcoin even though it would be risky but potentially bitcoin prices are rising sharply in the future if investing in it will give us a high revenue.

Now I invest well in both options, but I'm more inclined to gold, because it is more stable and will not lose its value without the Internet.

I would definitely choose bitcoins instead of gold.Gold has been used as an investment for centuries but still it does not give returns as gold.Bitcoin also works on a secured block chain system and so our investment is safe.Bitcoin has almost tripled in its price in the past six months and we could not expect such a big return from gold.

i choose bitcoin, because not everyone knows about bitcoin yet, but after almost everyone knows it, the price will be above your expectations.
Because supply will always remain, and the demand will always increase.
