if you were to invest in ethereum do it now, because of the upcoming fork on jan 11 to jan 18, there will be 3 forks so on every eth you hold in your personal wallet like "my ether wallet" you get each of those 3 forks first will be ethereum classic vission, Ethereum Nowa Hard Fork, Ethereum Constantinople Hard Fork.
Excuse me, I have a correction. The only legit upcoming hardfork of Ethereum is Constantinople which will be on Jan. 18. The developers will only upgrade their system, switching from PoW to PoS, and there's no new token to be distributed. By the way, the other 2 is probably a scam. Check this out. I hope it will now be clear for all of you  . |

I see that BTC and ETH are two coins that have the highest capitalization in Coinmarketcap.
But I don't know why Bitcoin is still up and ETH always maintains current prices.
Why did that happen? And now, I have to invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum?

In my opinion, at the moment both coins are suitable for investment. Bitcoin has a bullish trend, but I can be wrong because the risk still exists, but if I'm not mistaken, bitcoin will start to grow in the market, including Ethereum, as this year Ethereum will have many interesting offers for investors and a tough fork. I THINK that it is still too early to buy bitcoin, that’s how it will reach 1500 or less, and then it’s worth buying. |

I personally believe that both Bitcoin and Ethereum are good investment choice any one could make, the only thing is that we may not be able to tell which of them will give the highest return of investment.

Forcibly no one forces you to invest in these coins ... You have the right to choose what to invest in. There is a simple fact, these are 2 top coins, which have huge capitalization, and they will not be able to just collapse in one moment. But with alkoins this can happen.

Yeah, I normally call them the real coin since they've really proven themselves over the period. So its really the best idea if you decide to invest in any of these coin with this the guarantee of your returns can be assured, but for the new coins all we could do is to throw our monies in hope.

Yes its good to invest on these big coins now because its cheap again. Though there are some speculation that it will continue to dump, don’t just listen to them you can invest now at no specific volume and have greater profit if you are able to control your emotion. 2019 is still a bit hope for cryptomarket, don’t quit yet. |

When I saw this thread, I decided to wait for an alteration in the market before replying. Here, you mentioned BTC price was up while ETH was stable, but from the past days you can see there was a Lil uptrend for ETH price. In essence, I'm trying to say crypto market is extremely volatile, unless you are holding stable coins like USDT. So it's up to you, both BTC and ETH are sure bets for long term, or better still hold both in same proportion. My humble opinion.
