In my opinion, bitcoin, ethereum, and ripple is the hottest coins in 2019 because these three coins are in the top three now and ethereum and ripple still compete until now. But besides of that three coins, you have the opportunity to buy the other coins which are not too expensive depends on ethereum. So make sure you know what coin you want to buy and start to analyze from now on, so you don't miss any chance to see the increasing of the price later.

I think it's ETH. It is suitable for many investors because it is a great altcoin, there is a hard-fork event coming up and its price will increase every day in January. In my opinion, Ethereum, XrP and EOS and by far the best coins to invest in 2019. They remain dominant in their position and I doubt that they will suffer this year as much as last year. When we start a recovery, those coins will gradually increase, might not hit its previous highs this year but prepare for 2020, because I see that the real bull run will happen on that year. Don't forget bitcoin as well.
