This thread title is Report unmerited good posts,

An ulterior motive for creating this thread was to point out unmerited good posts are extremely rare. Since most of the posts reported here have Merit already, and there's on average less than one report per day, I think it's (once again) obvious there's a larger shortage on good posts than on Merit.

Probably true although I guess a lot of users don't know about the existence of this thread or most users have enough smerits to hand out, if they don't have, they simply avoid it or they are lazy enough to post the link here. Only a few people have posted other people's thread/post in this thread. Most of the threads are from the thread owners (I myself had posted once, probably).
Another reason can be merit in circulation. I have seen some stats on merit but not probably on merit in circulation. If there was one, it may indicate how much an increase/decrease in circulation is going on each month.

No, I am looking for how much merit is given out by merit source each month, how much those given merits are being utilised and how much has been hoarded.

Anyway, here are some stats from this thread-

Self Post Reported- 112 posts, 49 times
Other user's post reported- 175 posts, 71 times, ETFBitcoin has posted much.
Posts didn't get merit- 63 posts
Profiles reported- 6 profiles, 5 times
One post is off-limit, probably deleted.



My initial thought was users were reporting their self-posts but it turned that still, users are trying to post other user's post which is a good sign that users are producing less qualitative content than they must be.

No, I am looking for how much merit is given out by merit source each month, how much those given merits are being utilised and how much has been hoarded.

There is no official list of merit sources, and theymos does not want to publish it. In the forum, there is a user, Coin-1 actually observed total merits received, sent, and generosity (this is newly term) made by Coin-1, and sure it is unofficial list of merit sources detected by that user.

If you want newest, you can ask him for more details.

Just checked the link and seen this post has got ~35 merits. I think your thread got enough merits.
This thread title is Report unmerited good posts, I guess this thread doesn't fit the criteria since it got enough merit. You can post unmerited post here.
Sorry if it anyhow hurts you but you must be trying to be fair reporting unmerited posts or posts with minimum merits.

Basically, if you checked the title of the link, it's not the right thread. Sorry for the mistake.
I'm hoping to be more observant next time because sometimes we do mistakes and should be corrected and obviously we know what's the meaning of unmerited good posts, btw thanks for noticing.

I've collected a few good unmerited (or sometimes rarely merited) posts when I came over them and was low on sMerit / out of sMerit. So, if you are a Merit source and want to spend your sMerit feel free to do it.  
(I'm still not a Merit source  )

I rarely check my merits (I'm far far away from the Legendary limit, so it doesn't matter if I check it twice a day or twice a month and I also rarely got merit nowadays), but now I was really surprised that I got 3 merits in a row on the same day
After, I saw a notification from Maggiordomo (Piggy's bot) that I was mentioned here in this topic
