There's clearly a "Show ratings" link to see untrusted feedback.  There's no need for anyone to add you to their trust list in order to see the (totally inane) feedback you've left other forum users.  This sounds like an attempt to manipulate inexperienced users into adding you to their trust list.

Used to be a moderator and a DT2 member but got entangled into what was either a sting operation gone bad or an extortion scheme, depending on who you listen to, and you probably don't want to listen to the likes of Zin-Zang too much. So Lauda got booted from moderators and from DT2 but now came back into DT1. The guy/girl thing is still an open question.

There were chat logs that could have been interpreted both ways IMHO, hinging on the actual intent of the participants. So for example (not an actual quote) if I'm saying "do this or else" - is that extortion or am I trying to coerce you to do something illegal (sting). I don't believe it was proven extortion but you might want to search for yourself and make up your own opinion.

The reason there is whining is probably related to the numerous red trusts posted by Lauda. Many of those red-trusted users (~800 or so) would like to get rid of those ratings and they briefly did when Lauda was excluded from DT2.

I don't agree with all the negative feedback left by DTs but I certainly would strongly advise against ~[insert name of default trust member] because feedback is meant as a warning to other users.

By eliminating all feedback left by a DT because just some of it is controversial leaves users unaware of potential identified risks.

Ultimately using a ~[insert name of default trust member] just means that you won't be ware of the potential risks. If you see a warning you can choose to ignore it. If you remove the warning you no longer have a choice.

I recommend adding as many users that you trust to your trust list (and leave them positive feedback) and only exclude people if your really don't trust them (not if they just have a few differences of opinion). That is how the system was designed to work.

After reading all the cases you will be a bit more oriented in the mess of threads. The whole forums is like political parliament, full of parties, dirty little tricks, black PR, paid shit-trowers but there is one exception - there are many good guys around here too, you wont find them in politics.

I disagree. It is only a warning system.

If I see a warning for trolling I would react differently to that user than if I saw a warning for an actual scam where people lost funds.

Even with a scam warning - different people have different opinions as to what happened and what constitutes a scam. So the details and description is important.

Lauda is one of the DT members that I don't know & haven't communicated with. But I do know that it was a mess when Lauda got removed from DT because many real scammers (my definition) were no longer identifiable as such.

Hopefully the new system will be an improvement of sorts and encourage users to create better trust networks based on actual trust.

From what I have seen is that it is a curse to be on the DT list. It appears to attract the wrath of trolls and scammers.
